Hello everyone!

I have been lurking for a time reading the wonderfully helpful posts on here and finally got the guts to join!

I am in a bit of a pickle, Me and my fiance are going to Florida in June, 10 days for our honeymoon :cheer2: (YAYAYAYAYA!) we have sorted the hotel, we are not staying at a Disney resort as we just couldn't afford it, we are staying at the Fairfield Inn - In Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista. We have sorted the park tickets its just the food now!

But I am so, so confused... where do you guys recommend to eat etc? I've seen that people find vouchers for money off and such before they travel and I am looking but its so daunting and big!

we are on a budget so cant be doing the whole character dining thing but still want to drink in as much magic as possible, we will be going to Walmart and getting some simple food for sandwiches but as its our honeymoon we think we deserve some niceness!

so excited!!! xxxxx

Jiko, California Grill and Narcoosees are my top 3 honeymoon recommendations!

Welcome!! :thumbsup2

We had our honeymoon in WDW last September, can't think of a better place to go for a honeymoon!

If you can stretch the budget to any Disney dining, it would make a very special and memorable meal.
We had dinner at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge as our 'special' meal, and it was just fab. We also had Afternoon Tea in the Garden View Tea Room in the Grand Floridian Resort, also fab!! (and a little cheaper than a full dinner).

Even if you don't eat in any of the resorts, they are worth a visit just to have a nose about in the lobby, and drink in the atmosphere.

Good luck with your planning!

Welcome to DISboards.
Glad you decided to join in.

Food is a really difficult one to advise on as we all like different things, California Grill has been recommended yet its one of the last places I would go back to, only Disney meal I have ever come out hungry. Post #93 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2249674&page=7

You can also get a totally different experience from one meal to the, one of our best meals was Yachtsman Steakhouse yet our 2nd visit wasn't half as good. 1st visit post #332 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2524489&page=23

We go back to the Fairfield Inn next week, not sure if this is our 4th or 5th stay there. Just across the car park is Bahama Breeze, we ate there for the 1st time last Nov, will be eating there again this trip See post #94 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3014952&page=7

One of our fave offsite restaurants, Cheesecake Factory.
Post #123 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2524489&page=9

We also really enjoyed Afternoon tea at GF, post #331 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2524489&page=23

Congratulations on your wedding and honeymoon!

I would have a look through the menus and see where you fancy.

We really enjoyed the signatures on honeymoon, but for somewhere a little cheaper have a look at the grand Floridian cafe. It's really pretty and the food and service is lovely - especially the dessert platter!

Or counter service lunch at he new be our guest? Not been myself but its all served on plates with cutlery and the theming looks amazing.

Two reasonable disney dining places are beaches and cream and the plaza boh great burgers and ice cream sundaes

Happy planning :goodvibes

Wednesdays seem to be the offsite deal nights for off site restaurants. Some of the suggestions above are on site, deluxe restaurants and therefore very pricey plus a hefty tip. Not sure they are for those on a budget (we certainly would not be eating at them and we have free dining)

If you 'like' some of the Facebook pages of offsite restaurants you can often spot when there 2for1 etc deals are on. Also, if you sign up to restaurant newsletters you can also get emailed vouchers. When you are in Orlando you will be able to pick up a lot of coupon vouchers books etc that have deals.

Restaurants offsite I would recommend are:
Bahamas Breeze
Padrino's Cuban Bistro (top 10 trip advisor)
Olive Garden
Outback
Cracker Barrell (breakfast or dinner)
Earl of Sandwich (top 10 trip advisor)

I'm sure plenty of people on here will also have recommendations etc x

I found a lot of brilliant information reading through the trip / dining reviews under the US section and UK section of the Dis. People often take helpful photos and also rate the restaurant on many things, service, taste, cost.

Good luck with the wedding and trip xxx

Have you thought about somewhere like Ponderosa or Sizzlers for breakfast? These places are offsite - I know there is a ponderosa on International Drive! But breakfast there is $3.99 all you can eat buffet! Loved going there as a child and although the food won't be the best quality it's a fun experience! :D

The great thing about Orlando is there is something for every budget and taste :thumbsup2

For budget dining have a look at this food report by one our members Dixonsontour - its great for ideas of ways to cheaper All New Dining on a Budget

there's a sizzler's in the same lot as the fairfield inn, but this restaurant was rather poor last time we tried (actually didn't even bother to eat there)

I'd go back to Giordano's.
OP : sign up on restaurant.com you'll find gift certificates
latest offer was discount code BUNNY with $2 for $10 gift certificates (you choose the restaurant, select the amount you wish for the gift certificate. For example you pay $2 and get a $10 gift certificate you can use to pay your check, conditions apply such as minimum check amount, gratuities not included) You print the certificate at home, and present it to the waiter when ordering. The amount of the certificate will be deducted from your check.
If you can decide which offsite restaurants you'll like,(and there are many restaurants in the close vicinity of the fairfield inn) you might find some good deals on restaurant.com

you will also find BOGOF coupons in the hotel's lobby. Either in specific ads, or in brochures you'll find at the hotel or at stores, and many other places.

Congratulations!!!

Take a look at the menus at www.allears.net

One thing that will help with magic on a budget is all the counter service meals in Epcot. You can taste the cuisines from all over the world, without paying the high prices that the table service restaurants demand.

Or, you could go into any number of restaurants at an off-peak time and just order appetizers and drinks. You'll get the feel for the restaurant without the pricetag. Likewise, a number of the deluxe resorts have lounge areas where you could do the same; here are a few to give you an idea of what I mean:

Don't recall a Sizzler, there is Bahama Breeze and Golden Corral next to the Marriott Village.
