I picked WDW. Both my DH and I had been to Hawaii before but not with each other. I had been the summer before I went to High school with a youth convention and my DH has family there. We thought about going but due to the culture of his relatives it would have been an insult to stay in a hotel, eat on our own ect. Also Hawaii is much closer for us than WDW so that helped us to decide.
WDW was wonderful for a honeymoon destination. It doesnt compare when you go on a regular trip. The CM's went out of their way to make it a wonderful tim. We had both been to disney (disneyland) before together as well as prior to our relationship and the honeymoon experience was so much better than those trips. When we left a boarded the cruise ship we were actually disapointed in how we were treated by the cruise line.
Only you can decide what is best for you both. One thing I have heard is dont go somewhere where either of you have been before.

Hawaii!

Planning a wedding can be so stressful. I always think of a honeymoon as a time where you need to unwind, relax and enjoy each other. Walking around all day in a crowded park and standing in long lines, just doesn't seem like a way to unwind.

WDW is a great place to visit. But I'd love to live in Hawaii. Love to honeymoon, hey, I'd love for the wedding to be there too.

It's funny, but we also were going back and forth between Hawaii and WDW- and we chose, guess what? DISNEY WORLD!!!! We had a wonderful time, but we also got married in early December, so WDW was not crowded, and it wasn't hot. I would really like to see Hawaii- but Disney was the perfect choice for our honeymoon! :wizard:

Be careful about where you stay. For instance, Kauai can be quite rainy, especially in April AND there are spots on the island where it's guaranteed to rain, lol! Really. The big island is a great spot and the volcanoes are there. If you have 10 days or more, a split between Maui and Hawaii is nice. Note I did not mention Oahu. Some folks will disagree but I think the other islands are much more fun and romantic.

As one who goes to WDW often (and doesn't have kids yet) and even honeymooned at WDW, I chose Hawaii

It sounds like that is where you DF wants to go, so I would do it.

FWIW, if you can, take a trip to WDW w/o kids. It is an awesome experience and totally relaxing to do :)

Definitely Hawaii. I know a lot of people honeymoon at WDW, but that does not seem romantic to me at all. I'd save WDW for when you have kids.

Crowds is a factor in this decision. I really hate peak season and isn't April a peak season (with peak season rates) for WDW? Also, weather is as well. We live in Big Sky country-not exactly a warm climate state in the wintertime.

After reading the responses I'm leaning more towards Hawaii.

We honeymooned at WDW and had fun. However, if I had it to do over again I'd pick Hawaii. Romantic sunsets, tropical environment, romantic everything....what's not to love?
