You know. There is a lot of insanity in the world.
Apparently, I have cornered the market.
Oy Vey! Where to start?
Got back yesterday, been taking care of business since then.
And you know what?
You have no idea how much I missed you guys.
I mean that sincerely. Kind of funny how you can become attatched to folks you just correspond with.
Anyway, I'm back.
Did you know that sea turtles can live to be 150 years old?
Yep, my brain is shot. I have become "Winkers", I am totally OCD.
On the drive home, I had to run all the days we spent there in the last 12 month period in my mind.
It came to 49 days!
Nuts, totally nuts! And this isn't counting the Motel 6's and whatnot in the middle of the stay or on the way down and back.
Here's what we just did.
Stopped in Perry, Georgia on the way down.
Then, five nights an Coranado Springs, two nights in Kissimmee, then back to Disney for four nights at Movies.
But wait! There's more!
While we were at Movies,,, on the second to the last day, my lovely wife Diane said that storms are coming into all of Illinois and Indiana for the drive home, and we , Really, Really should stay another two nights.
This is like Barney Fife handing Otis a bottle of whiskey and just saying " Go For It."
So, while at the pool one day at Movies, with the sun in my face and creating more tan lines, I snuck into the room and got us two more days at Sports. Trust me, this took some work.
All rooms were sold out.
Almost.
And we are now into Presidents Week. No longer value season, or regular season, but PEAK season.
But wait, there's still more!
Two days later while now at Sports, Diane saw again that another storm was moving into the "drive home" area. And she begged me to stay one more night to avoid it.
We actually switched rooms while at All Star Sports , 599 pound cooler and all, for just one, very short night, considering we had to leave at five in the morning.
Now, this may seem cool to a lot of you, "Oh boy, we're not going home yet!"
But to compulsive planner that I am, NOT!
Let's start with the fact that I am now out of Vikes. My reserve driving home and keeping the back alive supply met a harrowing demise during the last 3 unscheduled days.
Then there was the fact that I am a compulsive planner.
My brain had it in mind that we were leaving Thursday, then it got switched to Sat, then to Sunday. Our original 4 day pass got eventually updated to an 8 day pass.
But you know the worst of it from my point of view? Like I have said before, I can become downright depressive when a trip comes near the end.
And this was the trip that wouldn't end! Oh, the end was there, constantly, you could always taste it, you just couldn't swallow it.
It was kind of like being on Death Row, and with five minutes left before you have to walk the green mile to the death chamber, having the warden suddenly appear and say, " The governor just called, he wants to make the execution tomorrow night instead, he's busy watching Grey's Anatomy, so, what do you say?"
See what I mean?
But this happened twice!
Who knew the governor was into Desperate Housewives too?
Just for the record, those of you who doubt the insanity defense I have to stick with, this morning at 5 o'****, I printed out all the pages of this trippy since we were gone, and I read them soaking my back in the bathtub.
And you can't imagine how much your posts helped bring a smile to my face and give me a reason to get out of the damn tub.
Thank you.
Jaime, I'm SO FRIGGIN SORRY I left you out of the callouts page on trippies, geesh! I forgot about the PRE TRIP REPORT page. My bad, I should have known you'd started a report for your upcoming trip in EIGHT MONTHS!
Monica, that was a great thought you started, about what jobs at Disney would be best.
Melinda, I liked your suggestions a lot. Funny thing was, we actually did the Jungel Cruise twice this trip, had one very good captain and one who was the pits. When we got off, Smidgy said, " We should be taking notes, so if the time comes and you have to interview for the job, you'll already have most of it down."
Then this morning when I read Melinda's suggestion, I had to think about it.
Before I even got to Monica's response to it, I thought, " Uh oh, I know me, and I'm going to get in trouble changing the script."
Monymony, you were right there with me on that thought.
OH, and LadyMar? I thought I told you to wait in the truck.
Thanks for the kind words.
I thank all of you for the kind words, I think I'm going to give one more update on what just took place and then return to our normally scheduled program.
