Go ahead and tell it to me straight...

Will there be anything available when this awesome new code is released to be public on Thursday?????:confused3

Yes, but it probably will be the less desirable rooms. The last time there was a code, I was able to snag a room close to the expiration date of the code and got a great room. Someone probably upgraded and I got lucky. I am just hoping to get a better rate on the room I already have for that time period. That is also what many people do. Good Luck

There will definetly be good rooms left. In all honesty, there's no such thing as a bad room IMO. The rooms most likely remaining are non-preferred rooms or standard view rooms, but that doesn't make them any less desireable than those other rooms. Staying in a Disney resort is always nice with that added Disney magic that they tend to give off; at least they do to me & my family.\

I've used the general public codes in the past and have always got a great room. As soon as the code comes out, be ready to snag a room quickly before they're all gone. I'll be glued to this site on Thursday morning waiting to see if it comes out. I'll also be calling CRO to apply a code to my existing rack rate room at ASMo even though it's a stay for 1 night only while we move to AKL on the next day for 7 more days.:woohoo:

2 1/2 days remaining :hourglass

Don't get upset over it. I am a Disney Visa holder and I was probably one of the first people trying to get the code on my already reserved package at the Poly. There was nothing at any of the deluxes except for WL for my stay, I even called 3 additional times throughout the day to check. I don't understand why if a code came out, there weren't any rooms available at my resort. The CM's I spoke to explained it like this: its like a sale on rooms that aren't booked up, and they said that the Poly didn't have many rooms at the discounted rate because the resort was pretty full for my time frame.

So, what we did was cancel our existing reservation at the Poly and switched to 2 Rooms at POR w MYW PH tickets + dining and saved $631!!!:cool1: So, if you aren't picky, and are willing to get the discount at whatever WDW resort, you'll be golden! We couldn't resist the 2 rooms and the significant savings . . .its not our beloved Poly, but it's always good to try something new. I think that now we are going to be in 2 rooms, we'll always have to get 2 rooms when traveling with the kids . . .our days at the deluxes will probably end . . .they are going to be too spoiled . . .:rotfl:

Last year I didn't have the Visa and had to switch from Pop to Allstar Sports to get the discount package. Wasn't expecting much, but we were very happy there. This year, I got the Visa and called the first day and STILL had to switch from Pop to ASSports to get the package. So, I guess that it didn't make any difference to me. We are still happy, though. We saved alot on the package, which is only way that I would spend the $$ on the dining.
By the way, we also only get 2 rooms at values after years of staying only at deluxes in a single room. We are much more comfortable in 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms and we find having a food court is much easier than doing only sitdown breakfasts. :) (Years ago, there wasn't even "grab 'n go" at either YC/BC or Boardwalk where we used to stay when their rates were normal!)

Even though a discount determines the resort you may get, I don't think it determines the actual room you get - from everything I've heard they don't even assign the rooms until 3 days before check-in. It is pretty much (unless you pay for an upgraded room) first come first serve so the luck of the draw is during check in.

I believe they just decide how much they can afford to "discount" overall and still meet their profit goals, which determines how MANY rooms they will let go at a discount. For example - the AAA discount - they have a certain number of rooms they will let go at that rate, it doesn't determine the room you get. They are more concerned with the bottom line, not the room you get.

WDW is a little different than your road side hotel that will put you next to the ice machine and entrance doors if you get a discounted room. WHICH has happened to me several times!!!

I think that if you are flixible on your resort AND your dates, you'll still be able to find something. We are going Nov. 16-23....one of the busiest times of the year. I called very early yesterday and only the BC and the YC were available for my dates. We stayed at the YC last time and really wanted to be in a monorail resort, so I had to pass.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses!!

We can't switch resorts, as we have a party of five so we have to be at POR. My attitude is this: when I booked the trip a few months ago, I was amazed at the cost - I thought I'd be spending about a thousand more than I did for 6 nights, DDP, MYW. So, if I do end up with a discount, I will just consider myself to be the luckiest chick in the world!! :thumbsup2 And if I don't, well, I'm still going to WDW!!! :dance3:

I am booked at CSR for Nov 15-19 and I'd like to stay there and not move if I could. I don't have a Disney Visa, so I'll be up bright and early on the 16th! Hopefully I'll be able to get a discount!

Just so you know there are other options for a family of 5. I believe all the deluxe resorts and the Ft Wildreness cabins. And of course 2 value rooms that connect. With a code it is possible (not always but sometimes) to move up and come out the same or better in price. So if POR is not an option on Thurs. ask what else they have for 5.
