Okay- I have only cruised twice (Fantasy and Dream) and we were midship inside state rooms both times. No issues, no motion sickness.

We are a bit late to the game booking a cruise in October on the wish. We were originally hoping to try ocean view or verandah BUT we need 3 rooms total, 2 rooms which will only have 1 adult traveler. (There is no circumstance that these two acquaintances would be sharing a room) therefore we need to consider inside state rooms for cost savings given that they are paying essentially double.

The room choices are slim. There is deck 2 (I’ve never been below 8) and deck 6 forward.

At first glance 6 is more appealing but one of the grandmas is very worried about sea sickness. What’s your take on 6 forward vs 2?

I should add that they will be heavily dependent on the escalators. They could do 1-2 floors of stairs but that would be it probably.

Thanks for the help.

Just looking at Motion Sickness... lower is suppose to be better. If both are in same location from the center of the ship.

Deck 2 mid-ship should be less movement than deck 6 forward.

Note -- no escalator but there are elevators.

I definitely was visualizing an elevator and still proceeded to type out escalator smh.

Does anyone have experience in a forward cabin? I’m just wondering how much movement we are talking about up there.

The motion sickness worry is a hypothetical Concern from someone that has never been on a cruise before.

I would suggest they speak with their dr. to see if Bonine or non-drowsy Dramamine would be ok with their current medications and start the day before travel.

We've stayed on deck 2 (on the Dream) and it was very easy to get an elevator.

I've cruised many times and if you are in rougher seas the movement in the forward cabins is very noticeable. If seas are calm its irrelevant, but you have no way of knowing what the seas are going to be like. If you are concerned I would go deck 2 midship.

Honestly if you hit rough seas you'll feel it everywhere, but forward will be worse.

We sailed an 8 night in 7004 and a 7 night in 9000 - both very forward cabins. We had no issues. Just sailed 9 nights in 7866 in the very aft - had really rough seas one night and the movement was much worse in the aft than midship. All cabins on the fantasy.

As someone else said - really just depends on the seas for your cruise!

Bonine didn't work for me and made me incredibly tired. I tried that once for Disney, wrong move.

For motion sickness medication and non-medication tools work differently for each person.

Also, is there any real/perceived difference in the amount of motion in the Wish class vs the older ships? Still have the "wings" for stabilizers? I don't have motion sickness but lower and middle will have the least amount of movement. So maybe lower decks and forward or back side of the true middle section for ease of getting to the elevators>
