Dear Nana,

Well, first, Hondas are not sold like American cars. You have packages that come set and theydon't do a lot of dickering. I would suggest spending some time at www.honda.com. That will explain a lot to you.

I had an Odyssey for 2 years and traded it in for my Camry. It was an equal trade, the trade in value was as much as the brand new car. That is another wonderful thing about Hondas and Toyotas.

I had the EX. All the Odysseys' are the same length/width. The various numbers mean the packages included. I didn't need to drive just myself around in the minivan and wanted a smaller car so that is why we got rid of it. I never had any trouble whatsoever with it.

If you haven't looked at the Toyota Sienna, you might want to. They are really nice too. I had a Toyota Previa for 11 years and just sold it last summer.

I have a Honda Pilot, which shares a platform with the Oddssey. Mine seats 8, the minivan seats 7. Hondas consistantly rank among the best in resale values, dependability, etc. Look at Edmunds.com for good auto information.

I don't have an Odyssey but many of my friends do. They love them. I believe they are as big, if not bigger, than a Grand Caravan. My friend had a Caravan for two years--hated it. Traded it in for a Toyota Sienna (it was a bit cheaper and easier to come by than the Odyssey). She's never regretted it.

We have a 99 Ody - I love it. Can't wait to get it back from the body shop - my fault, not Honda's. Check the edmunds town hall on it. A few months ago a salesman at the dealership told me Honda is redesigning the Ody for 2005. May be true, may not be.

:Pinkbounc Thanks Guys, will check out everthing!!!!!!nana2tots

I have a 97 Odyssey and had a 87 Accord for 10 years before that. Honda makes great cars that never break down.

I also recommend the Honda web site listed above. You can get all of the information that you need.

The only "downside" to buying a Honda is that you can't save a whole lot of money by buying one a year or two old as they hold their value so well.

We have a 1996 Isuzu Oasis, which at that time was exactly the same as the Honda Odyssey. This van has almost 150,000 miles on it. We have never had to do any repairs except for routine maintenance, tires, brakes, etc. We recently bought an Acura MDX suv, which like the Odyssey, is based on the Honda Accord. Needless to say - we are sold on their cars. We kept the van as a 2nd car & it still it doing just great. In fact, we will probably drive it to Florida this summer to save the mileage on the new one.
