we need to find a website that lists the 7 liberties

any ideas????

That's the problem
we are trying to and can't find anywhere that just lists them and that is the kind of site we need

Go to Google.com and type in "Seven Liberties" (make sure you have it in quotes). Then, go down to about the 6th-ish title and that should point you in the right direction. That's all I'm going to tell you to do ... you have to do the rest in finding the sites and information that you need.

I just think you weren't looking up the proper way b/c if you just put in Seven Liberties (w/o the quote marks), then it pulls up loads of other junk.

Don't tell the Mrs. that I'm helping you this much -- she's a teacher and would cream me!

A big part of learning is knowing how to find the answer to something. If they have searched the internet and other sources and can't find the answer, what is wrong about asking someone here? The adults do it all the time. I know we aren't doing it for homework but it is part of life. Daxx gave a great answer: HOW to find the information and pointed out that if you search one way it won't come up.

Daxx's Wife here. Golfgal is so right!!! As she stated, part of learning is definitely HOW to find the answers rather than directly giving them up for grabs. And, Golfgal is also correct ... Daxx didn't give out the answer, but gave directions on how to improve a google search. Thanks, Golfgal!

You'd be surprised at how many students (and adults) don't know that if you put quotes around what you're searching for when you enter your topic in google (or any other search engine), the more precise your hits will be.

For example, if you want info. about seven liberties, and you type in seven liberties w/o quotes gives you over 4 million website hits b/c it will look up every site that has the word seven and the word liberties, and every combination of those 2 words in it. If you put the same words in quotes, "seven liberties" , you'll get a mere 139 sites b/c it will ONLY look sites containing the words seven and liberties together. Major difference between 4 million sites and 139 sites! Makes research that much easier!

Also, by eliminating words like and or the, you will eliminate hundreds of more sites that you don't want b/c every single website contains the words the and and the!!!!

With this small bit of knowledge, it makes researching easier. The more informed a person is about methods of research, the better they can do their research.

Now, did Daxx give away the TOTAL answer? Did he say "Oh, here are 10 websites on what you need"? Nope, just pointed someone in the right direction by giving a lesson on how to use the search engine more efficiently.

I was not available to help last night as a killer migraine had me sick in bed so the girls thought to turn to the DIS as i am always saying how great everyone is

they didn't really want to be told the answer but didn't know how to find it

after your suggestion it became something they were able to do and complete
