I really liked this hotel. We got the AAA rate of $114 per night and with the free breakfast and manager's reception(dinner) I felt we got our money's worth. The room was big and clean, although the kitchen table was small for 4 people. The kitchen was clean but minimally stocked as far as dishes and silverware. If you plan to microwave meals you might want to buy some Gladware at Publix.
The breakfast had a lot of variety but the best part were the make-your-own waffles complete with hot syrup and whipped cream. We ate pretty early so we could get to Universal when it opened, on the days we ate later it was hard to find a seat. Dinner was never too crowded. They have a menu posted on the fridge in the room, I found it on our last day. We ate lunch in the parks at places like Mythos and Finnegan's so the free dinner was fine.
The hot tub wasn't hot enough when we tried it. We took advatage of their sister hotel and headed across the street to the Hilton to try their pool and hot tub. It was much bigger and the hot tub was hot, plus they have a poolside bar.
Overall the location was great and I would recommend it to families who want to visit Universal and save a few bucks.
