Has anyone every made their own Hershey Candy Bar wrappers? I'd like to do this for my daughters graduation party as we are having a candy bar, and I'm having trouble getting started and would love any suggestions. I've found alot of sites where I can order them, but I found them a little expensive so I thought of doing this myself.

I make candy bar wrappers for our church bazaar and other activities. There are several websites with templates and a couple that have wrapper printing programs you can purchase. You can use a graphics program, such as photoshop elements, paint shop pro or photo impact or purchase a wrapper printing program. I design my wrappers using a graphics program and use my wrapper printing program to print them.

If you use a graphics program to design your wrapper, a template will help you know where to put your words and clip art so it shows up where you want it on the wrapped candy bar. Google candy bar wrapper template. I know jersgirl has free templates you can download.

You'll want to use a heavier paper to print. I use glossy brochure paper. You can get it from your local office supply store in the paper section. Some people prefer to use the matte brochure paper. The heavier paper keeps the original wrapper from showing through. :goodvibes

Save ink by using a white or light colored background. Leave the manufacturer's wrapper on the bar and put your wrapper over that. Double stick tape is your friend when wrapping candy bars. Use gold or silver metallic paper over the manufacturer's wrapper and then put your wrapper over that for a very classic look.

It's fun, highly addictive, and people love the personalized bars! I'm always happy to help someone else become addicted to making wrappers. :thumbsup2

This sounds fun. Why not take the original wrapper off and put the new printed on on? Then it won't show. I'm going to try to make these for our first trip to Disney!

You want to keep the original wrapper on the candy bar for hygienic reasons and in case of allergies, the consumer has the manufacturer's list of ingredients. :thumbsup2

Go to the Creative DISigns board. I've seen some very cute ones there! Happy Wrapping!
