Wow, your book is amazing!!! can i steal your idea??? My girls have only been once, but this would be a fantastic addition to do every trio! We are surprising them with a trip in a few months and I would love to have these made. Would you mind sending me some pictures and/or tips on how you made it? I have made books like this on snapfish, etc, but how did you do the generic mickey type pages?? There are a lot of characters that we haven't met yet, but will on this next trip, like Tigger, etc.

Easy peasy!!!

For the generic pics, I just used pics I had from each park and changed the transparency (to make it easier to see autographs on). There are also pages on most of the sites that can easily fit into a Disney park theme. For the picture pages, I made sure there was extra space (i.e., no pictures) for the autographs. If you know you'll meet characters (meals, etc.) this time, you can find generic stock pictures online. The book I posted is a Snapfish book, but I've used other sites with just as much success. I've had out September books made since last year!!

Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

You guys are good! The photobook reminded me of what my wife did one year at Chef Mickey's. She packed a Golden Books for each character... remember those? We had each character sign their own storybook... kinda like the author at a book signing. Everyone (even the characters) there thought it was great!

I've seen people with the big encyclopedia of characters, too. Probably not fun to carry if you don't have a stroller (I'm way more attached to our P3 than DS ever was...I love the storage!!). I got the Pixar cookbook through Scholastic for free, and I thought that might be fun, but DS was so into his photo book that I just ordered those again.

Simply amazing! We are going in september as well! (First week and a few days of august) I can't wait to start these! I will wrap them and give them to my girls as a present when we get there. We made a snapfish book of our last trip and the girls love to look at it and talk about the pictures. It helps them to remember. can you change the transparency with snapfish? that is so cool!

I'm not 100% sure you can. I usually tweak mine before I upload them, so I change it in my photo editing software. Let me know if you need help doing that, it takes, like, two seconds.

These are all great!
I think I might make one myself next time I go to Orlando.

I've gotten a few autographs(each character has their own page) and all the characters have made a fuss over it!! Eeyore made me flip through it for him ;) I met Lady Tremaine and the Step-sisters (who I didn't have pages for since I just thought they were at 1900 Park Fare) and they got all 'bent out of shape' because I didn't have them. They made me sketch a page, but I took too long so they made one-I should take a pic of that page!! LOL

Thank you for sharing your great idea...I usually buy the ones from the park but wanted something differnt this time...not creative enough to do the handmade ones but I LOVE YOUR digital idea.

May I ask which company you used.

Malibelle-- your books are so beautiful. :lovestruc I'm going to try to make something like those for my girls. What did you use for the cover? Is it just cardstock, or is it something stiffer like cardboard? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I used cardboard and put cardstock over it on both sides and the pages are white cardstock

Wow! These are all so great!! Makes me feel so lame with our store bought ones!! I love the photo one, I might have to steal that idea someday!!

Geez, these are totally cool. I have to figure something like this out. We have like 20 of the kinds that you buy at the park and it's getting old! :rotfl:

You guys are rock stars!

I used Snapfish to make the one I posted. I had some free credits at ArtsCow, so I used them to make our September ones. Only do that if you have quite a bit of time, though, because shipping can take a while.

I also have Shutterfly books that are great. Most photo sites offer them (just sign up and wait for a discount if you have time). I get hardback books, but the smaller books are available in paperback (5x7, 4x6, etc.).

Have fun!!!:wizard:

Thank you so much PolyndianPrincessJes...I love your idea so much that I want to do it for our next trip. We have about 10 Disney autograph that I bought. I really want my son not to collect autographs anymore (I know he is only 4) but after 4 trips with him...I just say lets just say hi and take a picture with the characters...he says mommy I need my scrapbook (autograph book he calles it scrapbook) signed by my friends. I don't really have the patient to make ones that are homemade but I love to do digital scrapbooks so now I have a project to do before our December trip. Thank you so much for sharing this idea.
What pen did you use for the characters to sign with?

Gorgeous books.

Thats it...now i have to make a homemade autograph book!:rotfl: Bring the scrapbooking in me back out again!

I would be scared the whole time that it might get ruined? best way to protect it? :confused3

No problem!! :goodvibes The book just gave the characters so much to talk to DS about, and some of the characters knew the CMs who were pictured...uh, I mean other characters. ;) In fact, we had a couple of the same characters who were really excited to see their own pics.

I lucked out (thanks to the Budget Board) and got 12-packs of clickable Sharpies for $2 a pop!!! This was last year, though. However, you can get a small pack for about $5 or so. Have fun!

I just decided to make an Epcot passport out of the 4x6 flipbooks in Snapfish. I have one free credit, so I just have to order one for my niece, too. I just love prepping for a WDW trip!

I stick ours in a big Ziplock (the larger, thicker ones).

Thank you for your answers PolyndianPrincessJes. I have used shutterfly and digital Creative Memories but sometimes I get free shutterfly books so I'll use them and I can't wait...my son will love it b/c he likes to help me with Disney stuff.
Again thank you so much it really means alot to me to get a new idea...and this one is brilliant.

When it was just DH and I, I took the pages out of the Disney Day by Day calendar (the one that you tear off) and had the characters sign their respective pages. The characters loved  the pages. Most of them would read the pages and comment on them (if they could!!) Then I would scrapbook them when I got home. For DD I did something different. I made tags with my Cricut machine and had the characters sign those. I scrapbooked them when I got home. Here is her book......

I will probably do the tags again in Dec. for both DD's. I will be busy scrapbooking when we get home!!!!!!

oh yeah....we used clickable sharpies for the characters to sign with...worked wonderfully!!! :goodvibes
