Homeless Dis'ers set sail *sound* on some posts

My only suggestion would be that when we get to WDW we should start a new thread so that people will get interested in joining in with us imagining a vacation at WDW in the lap of luxury.

I will have to post on Sunday after the meet to be able to show you all around Cocoa Beach - my home away from home IRL.

I'm good with starting a new thread in WDW this ones getting long. And we see if we can find some of missing Dis'ers.

ilovepcot better get her computer back soon she'll be bummed if she misses Disney

Good Morning Diser's and Welcome to Key West

Discover a city where real estate titles date back to the Kings of Spain. Stroll the palm-lined streets and discover gingerbread mansions, tin-roofed conch houses, the John Audubon House and Ernest Hemingway's home. Walk in the footsteps of Thomas Edison, Lou Gehrig, Harry Truman, and Tennessee Williams. Gaze at the fabled treasure of the galleon Atocha. Discover tomorrow's fine art treasures by Key West's well-known and unknown artists.

There are lots of tours to take:

Step off the beaten path with "The Ghosts & Legends® of Key West" for a spine-tingling ninety minute fully-narrated tour of the spirit world of "Bone Island". As we saunter along the shadowy streets and lanes of Old Town your guide narrates Key West's most colorful ghost stories and legends. Learn about haunted Victorian mansions, island pirate lore, voodoo superstitions and rituals, a Count who lived with the corpse of his beloved, a secret leper colony and other bizarre yet true aspects of "Bone Island". Points of interest on our tour may include the Audubon House, the old city morgue, the Marrero House, St. Paul's Cemetery, the Otto Mansion, as well as hidden aspects of Key West that only a "Conch" could show you.

Me? I'm going with this one(big surprise)

Thank you for the kind welcomes all! Yep I did stop in on the original thread, but I admit I didn't stay since I already had a "home" or two (or more ;))

This place is beautiful!! I had never been on a cruise before and now I think I might want to try another one out sometime soon!!!

I think today, I am going to head over to Ernest Hemingway's home. I have a thing for cats :teeth:

Ah, come on....can't we do both the tours??? I'm torn now. I was all psyched for the Ghosts and Legends...then you throw in the Margaritaville tour. What's a girl to do, I ask. Beautiful shots. I'm gonna like it here.

Oh sure we'll do both the ghost tour early and then Margaritaville later that way we dont have to worry about leaving the bar.

I think we can do both - ghost tours don't start till it gets dark. I did one in Savannah and it was fun - a lot of walking, but fun!

Here is a map of Key West - it may be hard to see, I am searching for a better one

I have a soft spot for Key West. We stopped there for a day while on a cruise and it was there I surprisingly discovered I was pregnant with 9 year old DD. We had been trying for two years with no luck and even had an artificial insemination date tentatively set up for right after our cruise. DH & I both cried our eyes out. I have a large photo taken by the ship's photographer that night of the two of us and happily tell DD that we're so happy in that photo because we had just found out she was coming. She loves to look at that picture.

Anyone want to join me for lunch at Louie's Backyard for some conch fritters. We had a wonderful meal there with a fabulous view. Website if http://www.louiesbackyard.com if you want to check it out.

Helenabear, I meant to welcome you here again when I posted yesterday, but somehow I lost my train of thought. Anyway - so glad you're here! And, I'll join you at Hemingway's house. Those six-toed cats are fascinating (and a little creepy). I'm hoping the others will let us fit this in before the Margaritaville and the Ghost Tours.

I'm all for conch fritters - got to fill the stomach with starches prior to hitting Maragritaville. I also would like to go to Hemingway's house.

Suzannen, you just brought tears to my eyes - hmmmmm, I wonder whether that's a sign for me? Thanks for sharing that story.

Always a possibility, right? You've got my thoughts and prayers - as well as fingers crossed. And, after a few Margaritas, I'll even try to cross my toes!

I thought we were eating at Margaritaville?

You know something?? My dh just doesn't get this whole thing. But, I'm going to be able to discuss some pretty interesting places thanks to you guys!! Thanks for all the great info you give me. And photos...well, we can't even begin to thank you. Man, you must have some great resources!!!

So, we're all set for tonight. What's on for tomorrow?

I Google. Its not hard - if you want to learn I am willing to teach. You have a choice of either image surfing or web site surfing. If I find something that looks interesting for us I will right click on the photo and will then click down to properties on the popup frame that appears. You then right click again and highlight the url address of the photo. You then come over to the DIS reply page and post the picture like this

[ img ] url you copied [ /img ] leaving out the spaces. I actually wasn't willing to do this but just have gotten all carried away, plus I am learning so much about every place we stop at.

Why do yu think it caught my eye. It really is a restaurant on Duval Street and is supposed to be one o fthe best places to go grab a bite to eat. It looks cool inside too, but they have their images as movies that I can't link up to.

wait, you're talking about the name right, not a hidden message, right. Cause if there's a hidden message that I am missing you are going to have to PM me.
