Homeless Dis'ers set sail *sound* on some posts

Hi everyone!!! I was invited over here from the EWP Group so I had to come over and say hi!!!

Looks like a great place to hang :)

Hello helenabear always welcome.

Good morning Disers today we move along to USVI

Our long standing, enviable international reputation is not solely based on our pristine beaches, warm weather, and crystal-clear waters -- we're also the most culturally diverse, ethnically rich, and artistically vibrant society in the tropics. Our biggest asset is our sun-kissed people. Our residents are island-spiced, friendly and quick to smile. Contemporary Virgin Islanders are literally from everywhere. We are as diverse as the peaceful Arawak and fierce Carib Indians---and as culturally rich as the peoples of Africa, England, Holland, Denmark, Spain, France, India and the United States.

Nowhere else in the Caribbean offers such a good vacation value as the US Virgins. Secluded beaches. National Parks. Duty-free shopping. Campgrounds. Kayaking. Hiking. Ecological tours. World-class diving. Superb sailing. Tropical forests. Local craftsmen. Island art. Sunbathing. Fine Dining. Nightlife.

:hyper: :worship: :jumping2: OH YEAH!

I have been dying to go back to St. John to Honeymoon Beach since my honeymoon. The beach is located next to Caneel Bay Resort - the exclusive Rockefeller Resort. It was the most spectacular beach I have ever seen. We hiked through the National Forest to arrive at it which made it all that much sweeter when we got there. I was not able to go back on my last trip to St. Thomas as I was six months pregnant and could not hike. I have been dreaming of the day I could go back with my husband.
here is an actual photo of the beach - I am still searching for better ones.

Here's another one:

and a safe link to a site about Honeymoon beach and all the other beaches on St. John

Thank you Ed. I hadn't had the brainiac idea to look for photos of this beach on my own. I had the most blond moment when we went here. We took the ferry over from St. Thomas and then met up with an Eco tourguide who brought us through the Naitonal Forest, never mentioning that we would be doing anything so spectacular as going onto Caneel Bay and then to Honeymoon beach. So here I am clicking away with my camera at the trails, the donkey that remain along the sugar trails and the cacti - St. John is half desert and half tropical rain forest, its really cool to hike through both sections - All to find out that I had failed to bring extra film. So when we go down the mountain and onto this extraordinary beach and into this exclusive resort, guess who had no film left. Yup, that would be the blond in the party. I have no record of what turned out to be the highlight of our honeymoon! Yup, I still feel enormously stupid to this day. My husband, the wonderful man that he is, does not rub it in. But we both really always have wanted to go back to get those photos.

Welcome back helenabear, you have visited before. You are always welcome to pull up a hammock and join us on our adventures around the Globe. Just fill your imagination with the spirit of the islands and get that blender going with your favorite drink - yup visitors need to know how to use the blender too!

I've been to St Thomas/Johns twice, it is beautiful.

Caneel Bay and the water is so clear and blue. Just stunning.

That stupid mental pics of posters thread is taking sooo much of my time lately, I am on page 32 and working my way forward. Geez, this is worse than that Tagliarchy and trying to keep up. Its fun, though. Maybe more Homeless DIS'rs can post pics over, there - oh, and forgive me if more have other than Ed and myself, as I said I am working on plowing through the thread.

Oh, oh...look he found me another hammock!!! What a guy, my hero. Aaahhhhh. This is surely the life. Now, if I could just find some nice cabin boy to bring me a nice cool 'beverage' life would be perfect. Oh, wait. It's only 9:40 am....looks like it will have to be a Bloody Mary. Thanks Ed....great spot, great pics. Nice place to honeymoon castlegazer. Me, I got to go to San Fransisco...all foggy and rainy.

Being the old fuddy-duddy type that I am, and being completely computer illiterite....I have no idea how to post a picture. I don't even have any online. Ah well....after this Sunday in Boston, I'm sure that will be remedied!!! Someone will have a photo that has all of us in it for sure.

Hey guys, I got brave and posted a pic of my son over on that thread, so I thought I would share here - I am still nto brave enough to post a current pic, but this was when he was one and we were celebrating his first birthday at none other than WDW

Duffy's Love Shack is known to many as the theme park of adult beverages. Voted best bar in the Caribbean by Caribbean Travel in 1997. Enjoy great food, an island atmosphere, hand crafted tropical drinks and friendly prices.

You have to check out this lin to their drink menu - I think I am in heaven!

I am working on dinner ideas - any thoughts?

Oh, and thanks for the jewels - they match my eyes!

castlegazer, what a cutie pie your son is! What a great smile!

This island is beautiful. I've visited a few in the Caribbean, but never the Virgin Islands. It's now on my list.

Alas, like goofy4tink, I have NO idea how to post photos. I'm lucky I could figure out how to "submit reply" to this message board. Therefore, I really appreciate all the photos and visuals you guys add to these pages. It really makes it so much fun.

Now, I'm just waiting for 5 pm and Duffy's Love Shack for one of those yummy coconut drinks?

Well, apparently Duffy's promotes this restaurant and I can't figure out if its attached or not - but after seeing that drink menu we probably don't want to travel too far.

Apparently it is a famous chef from Santa Fe and its southwestern food - what do you all think? The menu looks fabulous
