Home Party/Direct Sales business - anyone here have them?

I've done a variety of them over the years from Tupperware to lingerie and many things in between. I have found that I just don't know enough people to get started with parties and I'm not pushy enough to make anything. Lingerie is great fun though. I enjoyed that more than anything. I'm just not a sales kinda gal I guess.

I started selling watkins again. I love their products. The vanilla and spices are the best you can buy.

The extra cash helps pay for disney

I sell Arbonne. It is skincare and makeup. I sell mostly to my friends and family. I do pretty well monthly. My upline is a close friend and there is no pressure at all to sell.

My income goes to Disney Vacations and our Shore trip this year.

Our circle is pretty much Pampered Chef ( just got almost 150 of free stuff from my party last month) , Partylite, Tupperware, Longerberger, Usborne Books and Tastefully simple. I usually have one party a year that starts all of the bookings for our friends. Then we have a 3-5 month string of parties before it dies down for a while and starts up again.

I'd like to become a consultant but I wouldn't have any new clients!

The one I want to get invited to or a catalog order frome someone, maybe here on the Dis is Southern Living. I love their stuff but no one seems to sell it around here. I already have every pampered chef thing on earth and more candles then I need. :teeth:

I'm a Cookie Lee Jewelry consultant. I love her jewelry! It is affordable and guaranteed if it breaks or a stone falls out. She is right on target with the current style. I make 50% on each piece I sell and I use the money for fun stuff - vacation, clothes, no hassle spending :thumbsup2

If anyone wants a catalog, PM me & I will mail you one.

I just signed up to be an Arbonne consultant so that I could get the 35% discount.

Right now I'm looking into the Big Yellow Box company owned by Crayola. I've never did something like this before but I'm interested and the interest seems to be growing.

Ohhhhhhh!!! I love Big Yellow Box. One of my friends sells/sold this and I have nearly the entire catalog. I can't wait to get more!!!

You will rock doing this!!

I am a Tastefully Simple consultant. I really love it a lot because it is food and the re-order business can almost keep you going in itself. I have also done Tupperware and PartyLite. I am still friends with my leader from PL, in fact she just had a party for me.

I'm not either I've tried Mary Kay and Avon and decided that's it for me....though I did waver on the Big Yellow Box. :teeth:

I sold pampered chef for a couple years. I stopped when I had my 2nd child. I couldn't take care of 2 kids, work 4 days a week and do a good job at PC. I loved the products, and liked meeting new people. But, I hated having to be pushy to get bookings. I just didnt have it in me.

My friend is just starting with tastefully simple. She was selling time to celebrate, but they canceled their home party line at the end of last year. I also know people that sell partylite, sensaria and stampin' up.

So no southern home home living consultants out there hmmm?

I think they are fine as long it is not one of those 'multi-level/direct marketing' companies that are really just pyramid schemes going by a different name. Many years ago friend wanted me to get involved with Amway and I said 'no thanks'. You only make $$$ with those things by recruiting more people to sell whatever household items they pitch. Always seemed they would be better off selling their items in retail stores. Most I knew who sold Amway eventually gave up on it.

My parents got invited by a neighbor to some of those home jewelry sales parties. They felt awkward if they didn't buy at least some trinket. They just stopped attending when other neighbors would invite them. Avon is good since you order from a catalog when you want something. Guess it depends if you are the pushy sales type of person or just doing this as a hobby.
