Disney Visa offer for a 2 bedroom villa at Hilton Head Resort is $99 per night during most of November(except Thanksgiving) and all of December. The points for this are at least 25 per night. I would tell everyone to pay the cash and sell the points if you have a ressie during this time. Can you believe this???

It is a pretty good deal...but the rack rate for that time of year is only $165 per night.....I wish I could take a few days off and play there...

I hope they offer this again. Can't take the time to visit this year but would love to stay at those prices. Definately one of my favorite vacation spots. If you can't be at WDW then HH is the place to be.

What's it like at Hilton Head in December? I assume it's way too cold to swim in the ocean, but is walking along the beach pleasant, or is it also too cold? Does anyone use the pool? I don't golf, so I'm wondering what else there is to do at Hilton Head in the colder months.

I hadn't seen this deal before - how did you find out about it?

Thanks!

This will be especially great for "adults only" trips. The majority of the time we were at HH was spent swimming, because my babies are still little. If you had teens, or just adults, you could relax in that huge, gorgeous room and spend all the money you saved on accomodations on great shopping and dining. HH Island has a lot to offer, but probably geared more to the grownups in the off-season. Besides, 50- or 60-degree weather is a treat to folks who are used to 20-degrees in December!

I saw it on the disney visa site. You have to own the card to get on it.

Thanks, I have the card but thought such offers might come in the bill and didn't realize I'd have to go look for them.

PS How do you guys customize your profile to have pix and things to the left of each post?

II members can rent units including the top two Marriott's for $299 for a full week and $349 starting the Friday of Thanksgiving. This is simply a function of the very low season there certain times of the year.

They have had deals like this before. I have a friend who took them up on it for a February trip, it was just her and her husband in a 2 bedroom! I think a condition of her deal was to take the DVC tour. It was probably about 3 years ago. Before they left, she said they had no intention of buying in, they would sit through the presentation just to get the good room rate. Well, guess what happened? :p They like to travel all over and they were sold on the exchange idea and bought! They have used their points at Lake George, New Orleans, and recently Key West. They did take friends on a trip to OKW, I think that's the only time they stayed at a DVC resort.

DebbieB, I was just going to mention that this was the deal they offered in conjuction with the sales tour a few years back. The current Visa deal for Vero is the same as the former "tour" deal -- $99 for a studio.

Now, the kids go to the park free deal with Visa is great. Too bad there isn't some way DVC members who also have the Visa can't be given a break too. ;)

I am hoping there will be some kind of discount on annual passes to replace the Disney Club discount either through Visa or DVC.

My best perk so far - I got 6th row tickets for The Lion King in Pittsburgh in January because of the presale for Disney Visa Cardmembers. Between theater subscriptions and the presales, there were very few good seats left for the 6 weeks of performances when ticket sales went public in Sept. I got my tickets in early August when I received the mailing.

If that ever happens, I will apply for the card. Haven't really seen anything else that would tempt me, although the "rewards cards" are close. :)

I decided to take advantage of this offer for a few days after Christmas. They didn't have any 2 bedrooms available for my days, so I booked a 1 bedroom. I was also offered a studio. Only problem is, when I got the confirmation it seems I am being charged the same amount, $99, as a 2 bedroom. Is this right? Has anyone else taken advantage of this offer?
The CMs really didn't seem too knowledgable about the offer or the code or anything. I had to call three times before I got a CM who could find the code on the system.
Perhaps a call back is in order?
Is the weather okay down there that time of year? I don't expect to be swimming or anything, but....

I don't have the Disney Visa and am doing my best to resist the urge to carry one more credit card. I would love it if we could take advantage of this offer though because we'll be at Hilton Head the week before Thanksgiving. I don't feel too bad because we have the member discount rate for our one bedroom which is $112 per night.

As far as weather in December, our first trip to Hilton Head was Xmas week 2001 and it turned out there was a cold snap sweeping through South Carolina - they had snow in Georgia and it was pretty much a mess. We were happy because it was still 10-20 degrees warmer than Cleveland. Last year we were at Hilton Head in November and it was much warmer. I think we'll stick with November visits or early December visits.

We'll be arriving this weekend and love HH in the fall. When the offer came with our Aug. bill, we called immediately and got the 2 bedroom unit. The price was good and we were looking for an excuse to go anyway, plus we get to keep our points for our trip to WDW right after Thanksgiving and next spring! We are semi-retired and love to travel so DVC is perfect for us.
We have been at HH on the same week in the fall in the past and the weather is wonderful. Great for the pool and beach walks but a little chilly in the Atlantic for us. One of the nicest things is the drive down thru the Smokies. Talk about beautiful fall colors.
The only thing we miss is a chance to have dinner with Chef Gordon, the highlight of our HH trips, but since we are with our kids and grandkids, (2yr old and infant twins) we will have to go back another time for that! Hmmmm.sounds like I should get busy planning for next fall!

2-BR weekday points for HH during that time frame are either 21 (Nov) or 14 (Dec). I would use this rate for the weekend nights, but would probably use points for the weeknights.

We took advantage of this code for Vero in Nov following our cruise. We will be staying Sat night in a 1-BR for $166.00 (tax inclusive). Then we will be staying on points for two more nights.

Chim Chiminy,
Did you book this through the 407 number or the member services number?
I used the 407 number and had quite the adventure. I had to do a survery, was on hold and finally when the CM picked up, my phone disconnected (my fault)...called back, had to do the survery, was on hold and when the CM picked up, I had to give phone number, addie, names and ages of folks in the pary, et'c. etc....Does this mean the rate is available? Nope--After all that info is plugged in, the CM checked the rate. First time, she forgot to put in the discount code ($50.00 a night tax seemed a little high for a rate of $99 per night! :) ). Finally, the proper code was entered and the proper rate came back and the room was available! ...Except...the computer screen took the CM to a place where she didn't want to go (????). Would I mind holding while she tried to figure it out? 20 minutes later, she took my phone number (again) and said she would call me back. About 2 hours later, she called back with a confirmation number....

So, in answer to your question, Yes-call back. Apparently they have a new computer system that is giving the CMs trouble. And while you're at it, you might want to check if they have 2BRs available for your time frame. You never know, maybe they have some additional inventory released to them.
