Planning to do this park on arrival day so getting a later start.
So many things are closing.
There doesn't seem like there's much to do.

Pirates, Backlot, etc all closed.

We aren't really into toy Story, staf wars, or Disney Jr.

Suggestions? :/

the great movie ride is sorta okay...

we usually just hit toy story mania then leave.. its a fun interactive game ride.. my favorite ride in all of WDW actually lol..

first... the backlot tour went down hill with its last big refurb so its a good thing they are removing it.

ok so don't do toy story or star wars or disney jr.
thats 3 things.

there's still plenty....

-tower of terror
-the great movie ride

-beauty and the beast
-indiana jones
-lights motors action

We really enjoyed the animation class, where an animator teaches you how to draw a Disney character (we did Mickey/Minnie). Honestly Hollywood Studios was the park we enjoyed the least as it was in February before everything seemed to be closing down and we had a child who was interested in Disney Junior. We'll give it another shot, especially since we skipped Fantasmic last time but I'd plan on it not being an all day park...there are lots of things you can do with the rest of the day (Boardwalk, DTD, resorts, ect)

Thanks. It doesn't feel like a lot of toddler friendly things. I'm not sure he'll sit still for all those shows and it seems to be a lot of shows.. And the very long line for toy story.

How is bugs life? For a 2yo

To the OP, just out of curiosity, why do you say that Toy Story isn't something you're into? Have you ever been on it?

I believe A Bugs Life is in Animal Kingdom...and I have heard bad things about it for toddlers. We had two bug hating little girls when we went so we skipped that one I've heard some people liken it to torture

The animation is fun! It may have been my favorite part about the whole park LOL You do make and keep your drawing and it is on Hollywood Studios paper so it is a neat little keepsake to top it off.

I'm not going to lie, we just didn't enjoy HS much. Your toddler might like Toy Story Mania but there really are no toddler friendly rides. I do think a 2 year old, even one who has never watched Disney Jr would enjoy the Disney Jr show.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid, my girls enjoyed but it *could* be scary for a toddler. It is dark and the theater mimics being underwear (bubbles on the ceiling). Just depends on the toddler probably.
Beauty and the Beast, it seemed like a lot of younger kids/toddlers were at this one and it's an open air type theater so easy to leave if they don't want to hold still.
There is a Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, our kids didn't go because it was cold and rainy and we just wanted out of there

you did not make it clear that you have a toddler going.

has your toddler never watched a disney jr show?
even if he hasn't he may enjoy it.

also originally you made it seem as though you don't want to go on toy story and now you make it sound more like the line is whats stopping you.
if thats the case then get a FP+ for it.

its tough to be a bug is not at hollywood studios is at animal kingdom.
its not something i would really recommend for a toddler unless perhaps he really like the movie a bugs life.
and even then i would be sure that he is not sitting against the back of the seat cuz at one point a bee "stings" you in the back.

my niece was 7 the first time she saw it. she's not a fan of bugs and has a fear of bees in particular which was much worse then than now at the age of 15 and she totally freaked out when the bee "stung" her to the point that she started crying and my sister had to hold her. (she was stung by a bee on several occasions when she was little which sparked the fear)

as for the animation drawing yes you draw and keep it.
i would not necessarily have a toddler do that experience though.

We don't have cable so he hasn't seen any of the Disney Jr stuff. I don't know how many stage shows he will sit through do I will probably try others first...
None of us are huge toy story fans, so the line is definitely the biggest deterrent for this ride. I'm not sure we will be able to get FP for this ride day-of, and if not, we won't be standing in what has been reported as a crazy long line.
Not sure why I keep thinking It's Tough is here lol.
I'm thinking that DD18 & DH will really enjoy the animation bit, while I take DS2 on something else.

Since its our arrival day, and we have a biiig day scheduled the next day to MK, I think it'll be a nice low key day with a midday break maybe once our room is ready back at CSR.
Hopefully in the future Disney will add some more onto this park, there's mostly just big rides and sit down shows, the park could really use some in between stuff.

I do think that despite not watching Disney Jr. shows your toddler would enjoy the show, the characters just have that automatic toddler appeal If you have a big MK day the next day I'd almost push through, do whatever you want at HS and then make it an early night (assuming you don't want to do Fantasmic?) We left HS pretty early (wasn't our plan, we were going to go all the way to dark but we got bored, left and then it was rainy and we didn't feel like going back on the off chance we'd get to see Fantasmic)
I do hope Disney puts something good for younger kids in this park. It seems like they are going to go with Star Wars stuff, which doesn't appeal to us. I'd love if they put something similar to CarsLand there since they do a lot of the Pixar stuff at HS it would make sense but I think this will just forever be an older child/adult park if they keep going in the direction they are. The Disney Jr. stuff adds just a little for younger kids but I wouldn't go there just for that (we did the Disney Jr. lunch).
Either way, make the best of it, it will be a low key day and you'll have lots of energy and excitement built up for MK the day after

Cars land would be awesome! We'll definitely try out the Disney Jr show if we pass it while he's agreeable. We have a 7 something ADR and definitely want to do Osborne Lights.
I'm not sure when fantasmic is.

If your 2 year old loves Cars then definitely go to the Lights Camera Action show. McQueen is in it for part of it. There is also a meet and greet with McQueen and Mater. My 2 year old loved the stunt show so much we went back another day.

I thought the honey I shrunk... Playground was too old for my son. He got lost in it and I had to crawl through and find him. Terrifying for both of us. The disney Jr show is puppets and looks fairly interactive for kids so we will be doing that this time.

We went on the Toy Story ride twice but my boys wouldn't wear 3d glasses so they didn't particularly like it. It was really fun for the adults though!

We will definitely catch the stunt show then. He really loves all kinds of cars.

When dd was 2.5 we had fun there, the Disney Jr show is really fun with puppets and bubbles and stuff, then the little mermaid show, but it is dark in there, and the Beauty & the Beast is a great play, just have something to occupy him while you wait for it to start. The playground is fun, and we met Mike & Sully and Buzz & Woody. And now there's the Frozen Sing Along! We haven't had time for the stunt stuff, and the Great Movie Ride scared DD, lol.

HS has Wandering Oaken's Frozen Snowground now too. Your little one might like to play in the snow. I know my 2 yr old will want to do it

My daughter was almost two and she enjoyed the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. We had to crawl around with her but she had fun and it let her get some wiggles out. She also enjoyed Toy Story Mania even though she wouldn't wear the glasses.
The only show my kids had seen was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (you can find full episodes on youtube if you want to introduce it and there is one episode on Netflix). My son LOVED it and there were kids near my daughter's age who also enjoyed it. She slept through it then woke up screaming but that was more because it was our last day and she was tired then a review of the show. If they know the basic Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, ect) they'll enjoy the show. Plus there is bubbles and things dropped that down on us, which was pretty much magical for my son.
My daughter enjoyed the Indiana Jones stunt show. The explosions drew here attention enough to keep her seated. Overall she didn't do well with shows on our trip.
Both of my kids loved meeting the Cars characters. It's one of their favorite movies and they thought it was really neat getting to see them in real life. They also enjoyed taking a boat to Epcot but you could also board the boat and just take it around if you're looking to kill time with your toddler while your husband and daughter do something else.

BTW my son loves bubbles I would have never known about that!
