If we were planing on seeing both the Disney Movie Magic and the Galactic Spectacular what would be the best location to try and secure? Also how much time in advance should we stake our area lol!!

The movie magic occurs on the Chinese theater right before the Star Wars fireworks. The best spot in my opinion to get a good view of projections and fireworks is to be at the corner of the taped off section next to the wheelchair and dining party section. It’s right behind the walkway they leave open.

At the beginning of the month, we got our spot at like 6:45 for the fireworks starting at 8:15 and we were the 3rd group sitting to hold seats in that area

I am not exactly sure where that is. Is it close to the front?

Yes close to the front. If you go to the front of the Chinese theater starting around 6:30 you’ll see the CMs laying down tape on the ground. They tape off one big section right in front of the Chinese theater. I don’t like to go in this section because it’s too close to see the fireworks well.

They then leave a gap for a walkway and tape off a left and right side. The left side is handicap viewing with dessert party behind it. The right side is open to all. The right side is what I’m talking about. Hope that helps!

Yes it does!! Thanks!!

Since this is shown up on the HUGE walls of the buildings around the Chinese theater, it's easily seen from anywhere in that HUGE courtyard. I don't think it's worth an hour and a half of your park time to stake out a seat. We were there with moderate crowds and had no trouble finding a decent spot at 30 min out. If we missed seeing anything, I guess we don't know we did, but we could see the walls just fine. The fireworks are off to the Toy Story side, so it is better if you're not on that side.

I personally like the spot in front of the Chinese Theater in very back of the taped off area. Like riiight on the line of the tape to the walkway. You can grab it probably 30 min from showtime, and when everyone stands up and moves up, just stay where you are. If you move closer, you'll miss the projections on the side buildings.
