Hollywood Studios October Hours

Does anyone know why the park hours for HS in October are so short? We will be there from Oct.2-11. I know about the TOT 10-Miler being those first few days, but after that, why the heck would the park close at 7 and 7:30? This will be our 10th WDW trip, and I have never seen hours like this! I know as it gets closer to October, they tend to change hours, and make later closing times,but if anyone has any info I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Same thing happened last year. They were extended to anywhere from 8pm-9 PM many nights, with several nights getting a second showing of Fantasmic.

I don't think it's even dark by then in early October. Unless Fantasmic isn't running, it doesn't make sense.

We are going to be there that exact time frame as well. And I was wondering the exact same thing!

Seems that it would make sense to have HS open later esp when MK has MNNSHP so many nights in October.... Allowing non party guests a park to enjoy.
Hmmmmm 7 does seem extremely early.

We have taken many October trips, and from what I recall 7 PM has been the standard closing time for DHS at that time of year. It is definitely dark enough for Fantasmic at 7.

I can't remember if park hours were extended as the dates got closer, I'm sure it's happened if others say so.

The sun goes down before 7:30 all month, and by the end of October, it goes down before 6:45. There were several 7:30 Fantasmics last year.

Yes, as I stated above, they will extend hours. This will likely happen in September, maybe August. For the last few years, the initial hours released are limited. They will adjust them as the dates draw closer when they get a better feel for crowd levels.



October 2013 hours looked very similar to 2014 when they first released, but here is the final schedule...
