Hollywood Studios...Jedi training and other stuff

I haven't been to HS in years, maybe decades. It's the one park we usually skip. But we are heading there in one week! I want to get my boys into the Jedi Training Academy. I know to be there early and that sign ups are near American Idol. What is the best walking route to take? And is it on the little pond side of the building or the other side?

Since this is a last minute trip, FP for TSMM were gone. I got Star Tours at 1040am, RNR at 2pm, and TOT at 325pm.

Plan: sign up for JTA, head to TSMM to see how long the standby line is, then just kind of wing it while making our FP times. The crowd level per Josh is forecast to be a 2, so I'm hoping it's not crazy and we can kind of take our time with things.

In August there were CMs "directing traffic", and leading the crowds with little signs showing where they're going (during that time it was Jedi, Frozen Summer Fun, TSMM). You just go to the far left of where the hat is/was, above Echo lake. You could also go below the lake, in front of Hollywood and Vine/50s Prime Time and then up from there. You'll be right near Star Tours and Indiana Jones, for reference. I hope my directions make sense! (If you look at a park map you'll see what I mean, I think)

It's not too hard to find, and on a crowd level two, you should have zero issues. It was easy for us in August, so I can't imagine you having any trouble getting whatever time you want.

Check out Kenny the Pirate's site. He has great instructions and I think a map for it. Also, if you like Star Tours, you should be able to ride it multiple times with minimal to no waits after signing up for JTA if you want unless you plan on waiting for TSMM.
