This looks interesting, and the Cobb Salad seems to be highly recommended (and cheap). I can't afford to have dinner in the restaurant, but I'd like to try the lounge.

Question: Is the lounge only the small area outdoors? So no go if I happen to be there on a rainy day. Or is there also a covered area?

We have been outside in a light rain and it wasn't so bad. The umbrellas are good cover. But, this was in the spring not the summer downpour season. Wouldn't sit outside on a hot day either.
The cobb is offered as an appetizer-sized option inside. Just a dollar more than the lounge, and I am pretty sure the size is the same.

I think it’s a dollar cheaper inside. The presentation is a little different. You don’t have to order a $48 entree just to sit inside.

Although it has nothing to do with cost my husband and I often order the Cobb and another appetizer like soup and split them. So you don’t have to spend a fortune to eat in the restaurant.

A big difference though, no ADR needed. A lot of folks opt to dine at the Lounge because they don't have an ADR for the dining room, not because of cost or what they have to order (or don't as the case may be)
HBD is one that isn't always available to book last minute. It often is, but it's not 100% of the time. Seeing how it's just 1 of 2 restaurants that we find edible at HS, we hit it up often and there are times we can't get in to the TS portion.
