How is Hollywood and Vine? I am thinking of trying it next Thursday for DH's bday and I looked at the menu on allearsnet.com but since its a buffet I understand that the menu changes. Do they always tend to have beef/steak and some type of potatoes and veggies? How is the quality of the food? I have tried Chef Mickeys and didn't feel it was the best quality for the price but I guess we were paying for the characters because I can remember the fun my niece had for her bday dinner more then I can remember the low quality of the food.

We have eaten at H&V once in July of last year. The food was very good and there was a great deal of variety. My DD's (11 and 12) said that it was there favorite restaurant for food.

Our service was very good. Our waiter was originally from Ireland. He was very friendly.

I disagree with the above poster. We went to H&V and found it really bad. The day we went we were rushed, the food wasn't that great and the place was kind of messy. Looked like it needed swept and the buffet was a mess. Our waitress disappeared and didn't come back.

We had gone to H&V when it was a character meal and loved it. We were really disappointed that it had gone so downhill. If you are looking for something other than Chef Mickey's, this probably isn't it. This is Chef Mickey's without the characters and a lower quality of food. JMHO. I know that a lot of people on the boards like it but we aren't willing to risk it again.

We always enjoyed H&V in the past. However, last June we thought it was awful. My DS (now 15) could barely find anything he could eat, although he enjoyed the desserts.
I ended up eating a lot of salmon because I couldn't find anything else I liked. Their food selections in the past were far better.

We eat there every year, and it has varied in quality. Our last visit in October, I think it was our favorite meal. It's a buffet, and the variety and quality tend to change frequently. This last visit though, I ate so much I was stuffed all night!

As with most restaurant threads, this one is all over the board! My family's opinion was five thumbs up. That's from two adults that only eat fish, 1 teen that won't eat fish, beef or pork but will eat chicken, one college girl that eats it all and a pre-teen vegetarian. Any time a restaurant can feed our clan and we're all happy...that's a rare meal indeed!

We went in December and had an early seating and thought it was great, and the food was fresh and hot. Going back in May.

We will be there next Thursday! We booked the Fantasmic dinner package, so we'll be there at 5 pm. We have never been, so I hope it's good. I'm a little worried after reading all the negative comments, but I guess we'll find out for ourselves! :woohoo:

By the way, hope your DH has a great bday! :cake:

Are ADR recommended? And Cody's mom we may see you there!! Hope your meal is good!!

We ate there last week for dinner and thought it was good. At this point I can't remember what I ate at which buffet, but I would remember if it was had been horrible. :) Actually, I really liked this corn pudding that I had, but everything else is a blur. We had not planned to eat there, but they were having sewage problems at MGM so Sci Fi had to be closed for the day. They let us change to a new restaurant and gave us a pass to get in the Fantasmic dinner package section for the trouble (even though it wasn't that much trouble). But we appreciated it anyway. Our waitress was very very nice. I would definitely consider eating there again.

We did the FP last month and it was really good! We all had a great meal! :)

We ate at H & V in August and thought it was awful. I'd be willing to try it again on another trip in hopes that it was just an off day. We tried out Mama Melrose in January and liked it so much better.
