Holiday Lights & Magic December 2013

I could have sworn I subscribed to this thread but I lost it somehow! Oops! My apologies, but I am here now and for the rest!

We stayed at WL during the Christmas holidays when my daughter was 5. All I can say is, OH...MY...GOSH!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I wish I could be watching as you walk into the lobby for the first time! My daughter absolutely loved it there!

We will be leaving WDW the day you arrive. Can't wait!!

Christmas time is the best!! :santa::yay:

How cool that your mom made her own pattern out of newspaper (I think, I don't have my glasses on). It looks great, can't wait to see it completed.

What a fun idea to make a CM autograph book. Love the cover.

I so can not believe that today is 60 days away.

So much to say and share but schoolwork has taken me over recently. Photos form our fun event at the Disney store are still on the camera...promise to fix that soon.

Fast Pass+ all booked (I was up at 4:20 to make sure it got done) and so excited it went smoothly. I will share that as well soon

But...I must go to bed now. When one stays up late reading a new book (Allegiant for those fans of the Divergent series out there) and gets up early to book FastPass one needs major sleep the next night

...now if only the guys across the street would stop cutting branches off the tress with chainsaws...which has been going on since about 2 this afternoon I guess. AHHHH. Did I mention it is about 9PM??? Seriously.

Thanks for the kinds words. - We also are looking forward to seeing the lobby for the first time. Photos WILL be taken.

I meant to post these pictures last weekend, but WOW..having family in town plus work really added up. This school year is going so great but we are doing all new curriculum and it is hard to adjust to all the changes

..enough of that. I promised finished Periwinkle pictures...
Here is where it all started - with a newspaper pattern and my amazing MOM!!!

Here is the final result - in front of the Disney Store for a special Visa Card holders Halloween Dress Rehearsal event.

She got to wear Mickey's Sorcerer hat to help open the store

And I got something fun for my tea - to keep me warm

Anyone else dressing up Disney style for Halloween? How fun as a way to celebrate getting closer to our trip.

On a side note - My husband who had never been to Disney 4 years ago, but started planning this upcoming trip on the way home from his first has started planning our next one already. He wants to go for my daughter's Golden Birthday (She was born on the 11th so when she turns 11)...:love:LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Now he just needs to plan some Disney trips for others to raise the money...and last 4 years until that time comes around - YA right!!

That costume is adorable! :lovestruc I love the deep scalloped bottom edge and the pants with the slanted openings at the bottom. That ready adds a lot of visual interest to the costume. And the color is perfect for your daughter. Did she make the wings, too? She did a great job! :goodvibes

Your mom did an amazing job making the periwinkle costume! Your daughter looks adorable! She must have been so thrilled with the results.

Oooh, I love the mug. So excited for the release of Frozen.

Your DH sounds like mine. Now with the little one he is all about figuring out when our next trip to the world will be.

Aww, what an amazing costume! It's adorable! Your moms got some talent.
That's a really sweet mug too. :)

Mom said her wings come out to "floppy" so we bought these wings. Not as easy to pack and bring to Disney but perfect for Halloween.

Funny how we seem to always be thinking of the next Disney trip. My Mom says we need to take her other places - we say oh yes like Disneyland and Aulani and of course a cruise....she gets to travel with my Mom and Dad often because my Mom retired form United Airlines, so I say she is getting the best of both worlds.

I know he wants to bring her at least 1 more time before she turns 10 ad is not longer considered a child anymore.

I'm here and all caught up! Your plans look amazing!! And the Wilderness Lodge??? AWESOME!!!

Your daughter looks great as Periwinkle! Her costume is wonderful!! WOW!!!

Have you been able to reserve your FP+ yet or is that not open to December people yet?

Congrats on your DH getting a great job!

Can't wait to keep up with your plans! popcorn::

We have booked our FastPass+ :moped:items for all the days of our trip. Looks like we booked at the right time because they just announced some changes to FastPass+ at Epcot during our travel dates. Looks like we will still be able to keep what we planned but who knows...anyone who hears different let me know we have to switch that day a little bit.

We are basically doing all things we have not done before with 1 or 2 exceptions. We knew these were things we wanted and getting it all take care of was easy...even still we got up at did them first thing in the Am on our 60 day mark.

Day 1 - MK
Space Ranger Spin
Talking Mickey Mouse Meet & Greet
Space Mountain (daughter's first time)

Day 2 - Epcot
Test Track
Soarin'
Mission Space (first time for hubby and DD I was on it as a kid)

:tink:Day 3 - MK (CHRISTMAS!)
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Rapunzel Meet & Greet (hubby never met her and we are saying a small prayer for Flynn seeing as it is Christmas!!)
Tomorrowland Speedway (DD favorite)

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Primeval Whirl
Expedition Everest

Day 5 - Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania
Tower of Terror (if we can talk her into it or maybe just Daddy)
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Day 6 - MK
Peter Pan's flight (first time hubby)
Hunted Mansion (first time Daughter!!)
Journey of the Little Mermaid

We are very excited about being part of all these experiences and are very pleased with the way our times all worked out for us. What do you think? Did we select well?

Oh my gosh, she looks SO cute as Periwinkle. Your mom did an amazing job! And how cute that she got to wear the sorcerer's hat! My Disney Halloween costume is posted on my pre-trip report!! First time in I-can't-remember-when that I dressed up for Halloween.

I seriously love that mug. I cannot wait for Frozen! Yay for Disney movies!!!!

Love all your plans!!!!!

I did it!! I know it is totally crazy and expensive, but my husband and I stayed under our high end budget on the trip,
even with the changes, and set aside some extra funds to have an In Room Celebration all ready for our daughter on Christmas Eve.
:santa:

This is something I have wanted to do for her since we started the planning of this trip. I found out about this when planning our Halloween
day visit and knew the cost was high, but what an amazing celebration this would be.

Pillowcases, a blanket, several light up lanyard, holiday Mickey ears, 2 giant stuffed animals and more will await us when we return home on Christmas Eve.
They even light up the room with lights. I have a feeling the money will have been well worth it in the end.

I know it is nutty, but this trip is ONCE IN A LIFETIME for us. We will be back to Disney over and over but this one is a never forget.

Thanks for visiting our PTR so I could find you! :goodvibes I LOVE the idea of the in-room celebration, that will make things all the more magical! :flower3:

FP+ selections look great.:thumbsup2
The In Room Celebration sounds awesome.:santa: I hope you write about it afterwards. Would love to hear all about it.:surfweb:

Tower of Terror (if we can talk her into it or maybe just Daddy)

This. We're hoping our kiddo will go on it with us (she's almost 9) but she's gone on a "droppy" ride and said she doesn't like that feeling. But she loves rides in general, and likes "scary" stuff. I did NOT get a FP+ for it though, just in case. (We did TSMM, R&RC and Fantasmic)
