We were supposed to be heading off to AKL for 17 nights at the end of the month but have had to cancel it, I am so disappointed I could cry! :sad1: Unfortunately it has taken a lot longer to sort DH passport problems out than we thought, we hoped it would all be done in 2 months but 4 months later we have still not heard a word. Whats even more annoying is that this is the first ever time we booked the flights ourselves meaning that we will now lose the money on them, if we had booked a flydrive like we usually do we would have least got some of the money back :rolleyes: We probably won't go for a few years so this really is gutting for us :sad:

I am so sorry to hear this Jen :( Can you not leave it another couple of weeks or would you lose more money? :grouphug:

Awww how sad :( I'm sorry that you had to cancel but I sincerely hope you will get back there sooner than you think {hugs}

Sadly we can't leave it any longer, we actually ran out of time a week ago but I just couldn't face putting it on here :sad:

oh I am so sorry for you..there is nothing else I can add to that really. I would be totally gutted too..:(

I'm so sorry :( is there no way you can get anything back from the flights at all, or change them to a later date? Worth a shot?

When i worked for virgin im sure some tickets you could get at least some of the money back

:sad2: Jen Im so sorry to hear that x

I'm really sorry to hear that you had to cancel your holiday! :sad2: Is there no way that you can change your dates for later on in the year? I don't know who you've booked with but if you can schedule the time off work it may be worth contacting them to see what they can do for you! :goodvibes

I'm a teacher so I'm stuck with school holidays, I tried to change it to Xmas but all DVC is booked up. The only other option is October half-term for a week but it seems a long way to go for 8 nights! :drive:

We did a week back in 2008 to plan our wedding and it was great, i wouldnt hesistate going for a week again, we picked what we wanted to see and do and stuck to it

awww sorry to hear. :hug:

got to say, Id still go for the week in Oct.
Id rather get something out of everything Id paid for, rather than nothing and feeling gutted.
you could still do so much in a week:thumbsup2

go on, give it a shot ;)

Sorry to read this Jen.
I would definitely go for 8 days if thats an option for you. We often do 7-9 day trips, This Oct/Nov managed to add an extra day on and make it 10 days but usually has to be 9 or under for us to fit with Karens work.

I also would agree with PP about a shorter trip. We can only ever do 7 - 10 day trips due to DH's work and it's def worth it

Sorry to learn you've had to cancel - I agree that if you can change and go for 8 nights it would be better than losing everything. Hope you can work something out pixiedust:

What a shame, so sorry you have to cancel. We have done several trips of 7/8/9 nights and always had a great time- it's certainly better than not going at all and October is a lovely time to go.

:hug::hug::hug:

have a good think about a shorter trip, especially if you can salvage something from the money you've already spent, a shorter trip is better than no trip.
