Has anyone stayed in the Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista since it's been remodeled? We received a code and I called and made a reservation there yesterday for one night. We drive in and stay one night in a hotel before checking in the next morning at out Disney Resort because it's always late when we arrive in Orlando. Anyway, we've never stayed there, but got the rate of $69.99 for the 4 of us.

Thanks.

I wrote this back in Febuary but it still holds true.

We have stayed there to add a few days to the beginning of a trip. You can walk to DTD or the crossroads from there, we did both and I think DTD is closer. We walked to Chevys at the crossroads 1 night and Sir Earl of sandwitch another.

We stayed on points a few nights and I also got 2 more rooms for others in our group for 1 night and even though we had 4 cars they did not charge me a parking / resort fee.

I prefer crown plazas when I stay at that chain but will stay at that HI whenever I stay in Orlando from now on due to it's convenient location. Search this forum with my name and DTD for more info on this hotel.

My only complaint about this hotel is the kitchen closes too early.

I only have pics from my phone, but here is a DTD view from the 12th (I think floor) and a shot of the pool.

You can tell it's DTD, but you're not missing anything if you don't get it.

I'm not positive if you are referring to Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista Downtown or Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista on SR 535. If you are asking about the Holiday Inn on SR 535 here is our experience. If not, please disregard. :)

We stayed here on our last trip while the renovation was still going on, but we had a renovated room. For $69.99 it is a nice enough place to stay before you head to your Disney Resort. Be aware that they also charge about a $9 "resort fee" per night.

It is about a mile to DTD and it took us about 10-15 minutes to reach the parks, so you should have an easy time getting to your resort in the a.m.

The lobby had a small "theater" showing Disney movies that was nice to keep the kids occupied during check-in. There is also an Applebees restaurant on-site. At the pool there is a Tiki Bar that was nice to grab a drink at while the kids had a swim. I don't know if you will even use the pool if you arrive late, but it is just a regular old pool.

Here are some pictures of our room and the pool area:

We considered staying here for the $69 a night but the $10 parking fee kind of stopped us in our tracks. Is there a way to get around paying that $10 parking fee? I would love to be able to walk to DTD.

I don't know why they didn't charge us the parking fee. The rooms were "free" as I used points for al of them and we had 3 cars there. The only charge we had on my CC when we left was the bar bill and we spent close to $200, I don't know if they waved it because of that or not. Im a platinum priority club member and maybe that is why, but the place was new and they were a tad unorganized when we were there so I never asked.

Thanks for the reviews and photos!

Is breakfast included and what is the MCO airport shuttle situation?

Breakfast are included at Holiday Inn "Express". At the regular Holiday Inns, you pretty much have to buy a room package that includes breakfast - which are voucher types and generally the rooms cost more money per night. Hope that helps.

The DTD Holiday Inn does not provide breakfast and they do charge for parking. We are plat. priority club members and asked but were told the fee still applied.

We have stayed for a few nights before several trips on site and all were wonderful with the exception of this past June where we had items missing from our room and two nights where fire alarms were activitated and we had to leave our room at 3am. I suppose both of these things could have happened anywhere but left a bit of a bad impression. Other than this past visit the hotel was lovely and $69 even with the parking is a very attractive rate for the property. We had a car and door to turnstile for most parks was less than 10min.
