Holiday dips

For those of you that don't have time to *make* a dip but want one, I just want to say that the Hanna's Tsatziki Dip sold at Costco is AWESOME. Even in comparison to some homemade dips. I am real hot and cold on tsatziki dips--some have mint in them which I don't like, some are too heavy on the deal, etc.

This one's made with Greek yogurt, has a nice tang to it, good chunks of cucumber in it. It's actually quite addictive. Goes very well with the "Food Should Taste Good" multigrain chip/tortilla.

So, if you need something quick, I can vouch that it's very good.

I agree!!! Have a container of it in our fridge right now!! And, it is more healthy than some of the other heavier dips.

I make popper dip that everyone loves!

1 pkg cream cheese, softened
1c mayo
1 small can diced green chilies
1 small can diced jalapeños
Shredded Parmesan cheese or panko crumbs

Mix first 3 ingredients together, then add jalapeños to taste. I like spicy, so I use the whole can for us. My DH's family aren't as adventurous with their palate, so I use half a can or a bit more for big family gatherings. Mix thoroughly, pour into 8" round baking dish. Sprinkle top with Parmesan or bread crumbs, bake in 375° oven for about 20 min, until top is brown and dip bubbly. Serve with cracker or tortillas. Tastes just like jalapeño poppers! Everyone loves it, even the non spicy people. ;)

This is my go-to dip for dinners, pot lucks, etc. It's absolutely delicious and quite addicting.

But since I went vegan, I can't have it anymore. Truthfully, it's the only thing I miss. And I miss it a lot! :)

I have 3 dips that are my go to's:

The pork sausage dip referenced above.

Second is a chili cheese dip:
1 block cream cheese softened
1 can Hormel chili no beans
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

In an 8x8 pan, spread softened cream cheese evenly. Then spread chili over cream cheese and top with shredded cheddar. Microwave 5 mins or until bubbly. Serve with Frito Scoops.

Last is buffalo chicken dip:
1 large can chicken - drained
1 brick softened cream cheese
1/3 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
1/3 cup Franks Red Hot
Handful shredded cheddar or mozzerella

Put all ingredients in small crockpot, stirring occasionally until well mixed. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers or cut veggies.

I think instead of having dinner every night, DH & I will start making a meal out of some of these delicious sounding dips! ;) :teeth:

This is my "OMG it's so HOT OMG I can't stop eating it, pass this tissue and bring on seconds" dip

3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese or mexican blend
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onion

Seed all peppers wearing rubber gloves. Dice extremely fine (I use a chop o matic fist banging thing from ronco ha)

2-4 Haberno peppers
3-4 Serrano Peppers
6-8 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1-3 sweet orange peppers (this is to trick them into thinking there is more haberno than there really is... ha)

Mix all together Topping:
1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup butter, melted

Bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes depending on how cold it is going in.

I serve this with chilled celery which helps cools it down.

I love a new dip recipe! There are some great ones here that I'll be sure to try.

I always make this caramel dip for my twins' October birthday parties:

Caramel Apple Dip
8 oz of cream cheese
2 tbls powdered sugar
One container of Marzetti caramel dip
1/4 cup chopped unsalted peanuts
Sliced apples

Combine softened cheese and sugar, spread in shallow baking dish(I use a glass pie plate)
Top with warmed caramel
Sprinkle with chopped nuts and serve with apple wedges

I also make a simple pizza dip that I serve with baguette slices, bread sticks and garlic bagel chips.

Pizza Dip

8 oz cream cheese
2 tbls Italian Seasoning
1 jar of your favorite pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbls. Parmesan cheese

Combine softened cream cheese and Italian seasoning
Spread in baking dish
Cover with sauce
Heat in microwave until warmed through
Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses
Heat in oven or return to microwave to melt cheese (I avoid browning the cheese for easier dipping.)
