When do the Christmas holiday decorations go up? I have heard November 1st, but want to check. Want to do a trip to see them this year but not crazy enough to fight the Christmas week crowds lol

The MK Christmas decorations (except the tree) have to be up in time for the 1st MVMCP in the first few days of Nov.
Osborne lights generLly start in Nov
The resort and other park decorations start going up the week before Thanksgiving week, so you see most during Thanksgiving.
The MK Christmas tree is installed after the TV parade taping (generally in the Dec 5-10 timeframe)
The candelite Processional in EPCOT starts running in early December.

Early December is generally easy crowds, the Pop Warner cheerleading competition happens then, though.

I love seeing Disney decorated for Christmas! I hope you enjoy your trip!

Last year the Christmas decorations in MK were up a few days before the first Christmas party, which was Nov. 7th. The resorts took longer than that, though. We were there until Nov. 11th, and we never saw Christmas decorations anywhere other than in MK.

Is it warm enough to swim in early December? We've never seen the Christmas decorations, but the next trip I plan needs to include using our water park tickets... For reference, we were just there 1/31-2/7 and it was way too cold for us. Does late Nov/early Dec feel about the same?

We went December 4th thru December 9th. It was in the 70's and one day reached 81. It seemed like a great time of year.

The Candlelight Processional and the Holiday Storytellers start the day after Thanksgiving.

It can be, but there's no guarantee.

Here's a listing of average and record high/lows for December
http://www.intellicast.com/Local/History.aspx?month=12

Early December has a average low of 55 and high of 75. That may be warm enough, mid-afternoon if it's sunny.

But you will notice record lows in the 30's...and that is shivering in winter coats all day.

Unseasonably warm can get you highs in the 80's :)

Most people that take week long December trips will get a few decent swimming afternoons... However, a minority will get none.

I've done 2 trips before Thanksgiving week. One year, it never got above 65 and we had lows down to 38, the following year was basically lows of 60 and high in the 80's

This Christmas week, I wore shorts every day (highs in the low 80's) but one.

Thanks, y'all! I think we'll plan for Typhoon Lagoon and settle for Disney Quest, if it's too cold. I remember going during Christmas break once, but I don't think I cared about decorations in my ungrateful youth.

I remember watching Disney tags on Instagram a lot in December, because we had an upcoming trip, and it looked warm! So nice. Our week was perfect park weather, just not ideal water park weather.
