Holding on to someone else's magic bands

We will be arriving at WDW 2 days before our daughter. We will already have checked into our resort and I already have all our magic bands. We plan on meeting our daughter and her family inside Hollywood Studios.

Is there any chance that when we carry her magic bands into the park with us in the morning, they will be activated and "read" as if my daughter's family had actually arrived? There's a chance that they will decide not to enter a park at all that day, so I don't want to accidentally burn through a day's ticket for them. On the other hand, leaving their bands at the resort and having them make an extra trip there to pick them up isn't realistic either.

Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks!

No chance unless you intentionally scan her bands at the Mickey head! You'll be fine.

to redeem a ticket, the band has to be touched to the tapstile. It doesn't read them at a distance.

I would assume they would either meet her daughter outside the tapstiles, hand them the bands and all go back in, or just hand them to her from the other side of the tapstiles. That way her daughter & family can just head straight to meet them at the park instead of going out of their way to get them at the hotel and then visit the park.

Or maybe they have plastic tickets too and will just grab their bands once they meet up inside since bands are slightly more convenient for scanning, etc
