Hold my umbrella while I find your poncho! A May 2012 TR-- NEW-FINALLY! 1/17; pg. 29

Got to love short wait times for ToT! I love when I walk up and see 5 or 10 min!

Poor Reid! I would have done the same thing you did and try to clean it up. You'd feel bad making someone else clean it up. I'm sure they just wanted to get the ride going again asap.

How nice that you ran into your friends and how nice of her to share a Coke with Reid.

Eewww. Sorry I hate throw up. The smell does it for me.

Love the first pic of TOT.

Glad to hear there were no more stomach issues.

Great pics.

While I wouldn't say that AK is my favorite park, I still think there is a lot to do there. I'm not sure how people go, and are finished by 3 o'clock. I have to see the shows every time I'm there, and fitting those into the schedule, along with the other attractions keeps me there until almost park closing!

Me, either. I guess it's good though. Makes it less crowded for us. :thumbsup2

When we came out, Reid and Mrs. A were drinking a coke. She had some paper cups in her bag, and she had asked him if he wanted to share a coke.

What a kind and caring woman! :goodvibes

The “ha-ha” girl---
IMG_9716.jpg

We don't like her....right? :cutie:

Reid was not too impressed with what he considered a “girl” show, but the girls and I enjoyed watching it!

Awww, what does Reid know??? He's just a 'stinky old boy'!

Oh, poor Reid. Glad he was fine after.

We have Sunday drivers here too! They are usually older gentlemen in fancy cars and can be a tad annoying!

I really want to try the dessert party as I love desserts but at buffets I tend to have eyes bigger than my stomach and end up not eating a lot. May wait a few more years for that til the girls are older.

I love DTD at night as it is lit up so nicely and looks really pretty but it is so busy. Earlier in the day is definitely the best time to go.

I love your picture of ToT, it looks so creepy! :yay:

Oh no, poor Reid! I know how it feels to throw up in public, my first trip to Disney/Florida when I was 7, I puked all over the bleachers at the Shamu show from heat stroke. I've never forgotten that. :( I would have totally tried to clean it up just like you, that's kind of annoying that the CM seemed angry!

I'm glad Reid had someone to wait with while you guys did RnRC, and then enjoyed the Little Mermaid, even if it is girly! :rotfl: I haven't seen that show in years either, I should check it out again!

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about Reid getting sick on ToT! It could have been REAL bad!!! I just can't imagine what would have happened if he got sick right during the biggest drop and the vomit went up?!?!?! Ugh, need to get that vision OUT of my mind!!! I will NEVER take someone on that ride now if they are in the least bit queasy. LOL

For some reason I can't see some of your pics? Is anyone else having that problem? Maybe it's just my computer.

Hi, Just read your tr. You have a fun normal family. Can't wait to read the rest. I will confess, I haven't given AK the time it deserves. My excuse for last year was that we got tired. I already informed DH that next trip it gets a full day. So cool about family of the day at Epcot. That is the best thing I learned today. As for opening show at MK,nthat is a must do our first full day. (MK is my favorite park.) Glad you enjoyed it. (I also look it up on youtube when i need a pick me up in the mornings.) For DTD I agree day time is good for shopping, I do go back at night to walk around. Glad you were still able to enjoy the rest of your night at DHS. How fun running into a friend while in the world. Can't wait to read the rest of your trip.

Elizabeth will do Rock and Roll but not TOT?:confused3.

Craziness, I know! She's a weird kid! ;)

Got to love short wait times for ToT! I love when I walk up and see 5 or 10 min!
.

I always love it when some wise guy sets the time to 13 minutes!

Great pics.

Thanks! :) --No more stomach issues!

What a kind and caring woman! :goodvibes

She's a very sweet lady-very much the kindergarten teacher type of person. :)

My eyes are bigger than my stomach at most buffets!

Isn't it funny how we don't forget that kind of stuff? I got sick during first grade on the playground, in front of my class, and now even 38 years later, I still remember that!

Oohh! Yuck! That could have been a bad situation!

Day 5, Part 3
Thursday, May 31

After leaving The Little Mermaid show, we came out to the Sorcerer’s Hat area. We realized that the American Idol finale show had began, and it was being broadcast on the big screen outside the theater.

Picture025.jpg

We stopped a minute to watch, and all I could think was that it must have been a slow day for AI. If these people had made it into the finals, then I could have been the winner! In fact, William Hung could have been the champion of this group. Remember him?

inspiration2mdha3_th.jpg

I mean, really, it was not very good. I kept saying, “let’s go”, but no…. They all just kept standing there watching it like it was the best concert they’d ever seen. The next thing I knew, the kids had all sat down! NO! Don’t sit down--- I want to go do something.... like use our FPs for RnRC! Finally the last person sang, and I thought surely they’d all get up to leave. But, no! They wanted to learn who won. I was thinking, “WHO CARES?” I don’t mean to sound mean, but a golden ticket wasn’t going to help any of this bunch!

Finally, the winner was announced, and finally, we could move along! We walked down to RnRC to use our FPs.

It was 7:40, but the FP line was backed up, and by the time we came off the ride, it was almost 8:30.

The plan was to see Fantasmic! that night. Kevin, Rachel, and Reid went on in to find a seat. It was a full house that night. When isn’t it?

Elizabeth and I got in line at Rosie’s, and got dinner for everyone to go. By the time we waited in line and walked into the theatre, it was almost 9. I felt like we swallowed our dinner whole, just in time for my favorite show to begin. Be patient, as I included a dozen too many photographs!

When the show was finished, we made our way out of the park.

The bus lines were already filling up, and the Poly/Contemporary/GF bus stop was no different. While we were waiting in line, I noticed a family with two small girls ahead of us. The mother had that song, “Hey, I just met you…And this is crazy….So here’s my number….So call me maybe…” on her phone. She kept playing it aloud, and her girls were dancing to it. It was a choreographed dance, and they kept going through their routine. I overheard the mom say, “We’ve only got three days to learn this!” I felt like I was watching an episode of “Dance Moms.”

We got on the second bus, and after a drop off at Contemporary, we were finally back at the Poly by 10:30. Time for bed!

UP NEXT: HOW CAN IT BE OUR LAST DAY?

I really don't like that the AI show is at DHS. It just seems off to me. I loved Who wants to be a millionaire. It was always fun trying to answer all the questions. Questions I can do. Singing? Not so much. LOL!!

I just love Fantasmic. It's one of my favorite shows at Disney.

I can't believe the last day is coming up. I can't wait to read it!!

At least it looks like a nice evening!

I can't believe everyone wanted to hangout and watch the AI train wreck! Too funny!

When isn’t it?

I'll actually have the answer for you at the end of my trip report!

But, wow, that really does look like quite a crowd!

Awesome pictures from the show!!!

Seeing Fantasmic is a great end to a day. :thumbsup2 We were listening to Fantasmic music yesterday in the car, and Bella said something about the snake when that part played. She said it was nice that the Ha Ha Girl had a pet.

I have never paid any attention to American Idol, either on TV or at Hollywood Studios. I probably would if I actually knew a participant, but that's not really my kind of thing otherwise.

You got some great pictures of Fantasmic, I really do need to make time to see that!

Dance Moms, lol! I have watched that a couple of times, those people are nuts!

Great update and pics.

Fantasmic is a great show and you got some great pics.

Love your fantasmic pics. Sounds like you had a great time. I'm glad no one in my family is into AI. One less thing to get there attention away from
Disney.

I love your FAntasmic pictures. They turned out great. You got some nice shots.

Maybe AI is losing some of its popularity and its time for me to try out again. :rotfl: Tried out once and was told my voice has too much of a "classical" sound (ie not pop enough). Maybe they're desperate now. :rotfl:

Alrighty then, to the mom making her girls practice a dance routine in the bus line. :cheer2:

That photo of the packed crowd... that right there is why I don't do Fantasmic! :scared:

I don't watch AI, but my friends who were on my "girls trip" last year do... so we had to watch. One of my friends even auditioned, but didn't make it... but another friend auditioned and did make it! She didn't win, though. But it was fun. Though I'm sure Shane and I will skip AIE on our October trip... he doesn't watch the show, either. So I'm sure he'd be all, "Why on Earth would I want to watch this?!"

Wow I can't believe how many people were at Fantasmic! When I saw it in October, there were sections on the far sides of the theater that were totally empty, so even though the middle was full, the sides weren't, so it didn't seem that crowded! :scared1:

I love your Fantasmic pics! I couldn't get any good shots, especially of the boats with the characters, I love that part! Yours came out so good!

Ugh...I cannot listen to that "Call me Maybe" song ANYMORE! It's SOOOOOO annoying! If I had to listen to it over and over in line, I probably would have left and come back when they were gone! :rotfl:

I really don't like that the AI show is at DHS. It just seems off to me. I loved Who wants to be a millionaire. It was always fun trying to answer all the questions. Questions I can do. Singing? Not so much. LOL!!

I remember that show---I thought it was fun, especially since my brain is clogged with that sort-of trivia information! :)

At least it looks like a nice evening!

Awesome pictures from the show!!!

I am honest to a fault, so I must admit that the picture of the AI sign is not mine.....borrowed from photobucket. I realized the first half of my update was picture free, so I did a little borrowing...:rolleyes1

Seeing Fantasmic is a great end to a day. :thumbsup2 We were listening to Fantasmic music yesterday in the car, and Bella said something about the snake when that part played. She said it was nice that the Ha Ha Girl had a pet..

Fantasmic soundtrack is one CD I need to buy--that and Spectro!

Bella is so funny! :)

You got some great pictures of Fantasmic, I really do need to make time to see that!

Dance Moms, lol! I have watched that a couple of times, those people are nuts!

Make time on this trip---I love F! and am always disappointed if I don't get to see it!

Rachel and one of her cheerleader friends love Dance Moms. I try to tell them that it has to be all fake. Surely real people don't act so terribly!
