When I look at my dates there are rooms available facing the highway, pool and disney. As much as I'd love to face Disney, it's not worth the price difference. So, for good sleep which would we rather face? highway or pool?

Pool! :thumbsup2 Building 2 facing the pool rooms are our favorite, they are very quiet in our experience. We have stayed in Building 1 and the Pavillion buildings as well and prefer building 2. :goodvibes

I can't compare, but we stayed in a building 2 pool facing room in Jan and it was VERY quiet. We didn't hear anything, slept very soundly.

POOL. Stayed in Premium a couple of times and found them louder than the pool rooms in bldg 2.

ooh i think the pool was louder. kids are playing, splashing around having fun.. i was in bldng 3, i didn't even hear the freeway.

Are you planning on being in your room during the day while the pool is open? If so, that's going to be not as quite as once the pool is closed, of course. For sleeping at night, the pool view rooms are lusciously quiet IMO. But during the day it's splashy. Then again, I imagine that many many kids are actually at the water play area, which isn't there in the courtyard where the actual pool view rooms overlook.

Can you get into bldg 2?? Facing the quiet pool. DO NOT stay facing the highway. We just got back 2 wks ago, and we swapped rooms 3 times!!! The first room was HORRIBLE!!! SOOO loud, so they let me switch to another room at the end of bldg 1 where they said it wasn't "as loud" and I also had the option for one of the smaller bldgs, but it was on the top floor and they have those skylights that are insane...So i picked the not as loud room. Horrible again, I barely slept at all. I made my hubby go down to the office at 1 am, that is how bad it was...Now might I add, I'm a very light sleeper, so it might not be that bad to some people... So the next day we were able to move to bldg 2 , LOVE IT... I would stay in that bldg again, but I probably wouldn't stay anywhere else. Just my personal opinion here. But if you have trouble sleeping, I would not not not get a room facing the freeway, it is LOUD!

A couple of weeks ago we were originally allocated our Building 2 room (supposedly pool view) - we were right in the end room - the side of our balcony was directly next to the freeway and SO loud. It wasnt a pool view unless you leaned out over the other side of the balcony. Don't assume (as we did) that all rooms in this building are pool view.

Even though we had travelled for hours and it was late, asked for a move - we were also staying for 2 weeks - very busy clearly as they couldnt find any others in that building so gave us a free upgrade to a Premium Disney view on the 6th floor in Building 1 (and not on the edge near the freeway this time). The room seemed much better insulated - not a patio door but a double glazed large window and a separate door onto the balcony. We had a great view and had minimal freeway noise - would book this room over Building 2 next time, for sure.

So when I made reservations for NDD1 I requested building 5 or 6, first floor (don't want the skylights), facing the courtyard. Will this be a pretty quiet location?

I also like a NQQ2 room. During our stay last year it was very quiet, even from the balcony. We didn't notice the freeway noise until we were outside the building. If you are going during peak season I would avoid building 4 as it faces the Pirate Play area, and can be almost as noisy as the freeway noise or louder.

Thanks everyone. I'm not booking til next June but I figure I can always cancel, right? :) At this point Hojos is cehaper than Park Place Inn and Fairfield, so I figured I'd go for it. Sounds more comfortable anyway. :)

I went for the non smoking 2 Queen room in Bldg 2 facing the pool. My girls will be 9 and 11 so we won't be taking naps during the day. We'll probably rest during the day but we didn't sleep at WDW 2 years ago so I doubt we will next year!

Wow, my first thing to make this trip official! We've been planning it for along time already!

Congrat's on deciding to book HOJO's for your trip. All they need to hold your room is your credit card #. They use it to hold the room, and want to see the card when you check in, but they don't actually charge your credit card until you check out. When making ressies phone them at the # on their website and ask for in house reservations. HOJO's offers a 15% discount for DIS members, and a 20% disc for AP'ers, so mention that you are a member of this board to get the discount. The discount code is R2. Hope that this helps you out.

Oh thank you! I'd booked online using my AAA membership, but that is a better deal. I'll call and get that fixed.

ETA: that was a cinch to fix. And it saved us an extra $7.50 a night. It all adds up! Thanks again!!

This may be a silly question, but if we book the Disney View in Building 1, what is the best way to actually get to the park from that building?
