We needed transportation from HOJO to the John Wayne Airport (SNA). We were looking at a shuttle for 5. 3 adults ($17) 2 kids ($14). It would have cost $79 + tip. Daniel at HOJO recommended a town car for $40 + tip. He arranged the pick-up time and everything. Just another alternative to renting a car or the shuttle when you have a big family.

I am sold on HOJO their service was excellent!

I have to second the town car option, though my only experience was making sure my 18 year old son got back to the airport from the Hyatt Regency. The concierge desk helped me out with that. My son said it was a great way to get to SNA for an early morning flight.

If you don't mind me asking, what service are you using? We'll be flying into SNA in March and I'd prefer a car service over a shuttle. Thanks!

Another one here who's interested in which service you are using. :goodvibes

Sorry, Hojo's called and arranged everything. I don't know what town car service that they used, but they were right on time. I'm sure if you call HoJo's they could tell you.

same situation for me. Hyatt Regency just arranged everything over the phone for me.

For a similar amount you can get this any day at SNA. Just walk off the plane at SNA, go out to cabs, and ask for a cab-van. (We are a family of 5). The cost is 40.00, but we do tip of course. It costs less than the shuttle anytime.

Check out Prime Time as well. It is a shared ride shuttle but they often have kids ride free. So the 4 of us can go from SNA to DLR for $20. For some the extra $20 will be worth the town car though.

Just an option.

Disneyland Express runs from SNA to DL for $79.99 Round Trip for up to 5 people.

What's the deal with the town-cars and/or cab-vans with young kids? Don't they have to be in carseats or boosters? We'd love to do a towncar but I'm concerned about how that will work with our 5 year old. We do NOT want to bring a booster with us.

Anything not considered public transportation you need car seats (as per law, I am not sure what the law in CA is, here in UT, they have to at least use a booster until they are 8) in a town car I am sure you need a car seat!

I have no idea if this is true, but going from San Francisco International airport home in a SUV/cab with my husband and my two little kids, (unexpected, we were going to use BART but kids were MELTING down completely) and the driver said that in a taxi, the kids didn't need a car/booster seat.

As I said, no idea if that's true.

We used Luken Limo town car last year. If you ask when you reserve, he will provide a booster. He brought a backless booster for our son to use. While a taxi/town car may not require (legally) a car seat or booster, why take a chance? It is no different than riding in your car at home.
