HoJo to LAX?

I'm leaving a DL trip from HoJo and going to LAX on a Sunday morning. About how long do you think it will take? It's on October 25th. My flight is at 7:30am so what time do you think I should leave the hotel? Thanks!

My condolences on your 7:30 a.m. flight.

If I had that flight, I'd leave 3 hours before takeoff. At 4:30, I could allow a 45-minute drive and still leave some room in case of traffic, which would be rather odd at that hour on a Sunday morning. But that'd get me at the airport at 5:15-5:30, which would allow me time to drop off the car, check my bags and eat some breakfast before boarding at 7:00 a.m.

My flight is at 11:30pm on a Friday night, so I was planning on being there at 8:30pm (international flight - so 3 hours are needed) is 6:30pm a suitable time by bus?

Thanks! It's ok I chose that flight because I'm meeting my parents at their summer condo in Florida. It's the only flight where I can arrive with good timing at a semi close airport to Longboat Key on the same day. I could take a red-eye but my sleep schedule is touchy. I really appreciate the advice though. I'll be a brand new Californian at the time by a few months (I move to Santa Barbara from Indiana in July)

We just did this!!! Yesterday!!!! Too funny! But note, we had an international flight (to Canada).

We got up at 4am and checked out of HoJo's by 4:30. We dropped of the rental at Thrifty's, got the ride to LAX and was in security by 5:20am.

Our flight for Toronto at 7:30am! And I wish you luck because we had a 5 hr flight and a three hour time change and are still feeling it!!!

Thanks for sharing your story! Thank goodness my trip is leisurely and I'll be from California. So I can sleep at will. I can go to bed at 1am Florida time and sleep in until noon and my parents won't think I'm weird or spoiling all of the fun. The dogs will probably start barking outside my door at 7am wanting to play (they're driving them down from Indiana to visit )

They were great! Are you a "Blue Chip" member? If not, I'd go and register at their web site. Priority service for free and you collect points. DH travles a fair bit for work and their points help us out all the time!
