Hello everyone, I'm new in these parts and registered because I knew you would hold the answers to all my Disneyland questions. This site is very useful and I consider myself pretty disney savvy as we don't live very far, but in March we are planning to stay for 3 nights (something we've never done before because of where we live). My dh wants to stay at one of the disney hotels so the walk isn't far but I want to stay at hojo for the water area for our small children, I was looking at booking rooms and was wondering if there is really a convience to the rooms positioning. There is only a few room selections left at this point because we are apparantly going during spring break for some people, so if there is a huge disadvantage, It might push me over the edge to stay on site at Disney.

The HoJo is comparable in walking distance to the DLR hotels (except for the Grand Californian). I'm not sure I understand your question about room positioning. Are you asking if certain rooms are a shorter walk? If so then building 1 would be the closest.

I mean like, how it says disney view, I know exactly where the hotel is and I can't imagine the view towards disney would be anything you'd want to pay more for in a hotel room, but it costs more then the other options. I thought I read someone say that some of the rooms are too noisy because of the freeway, if thats the case, and we can't sleep....then I'd want to make sure we got a disney view, otherwise we might just stay on site. But then again, I don't live in the country so Im pretty used to car noise....

I stayed in the DLR once when I was younger and we took the monorail to the park, that is what my husband wants to do, he thinks the walk will be shorter. We have a 7, 4 and a 1 year old, but we would have a stroller.

The disney view from the Hojo is not worth the extra charge. I stayed on the top floor facing the park and our "disney view" was blocked by trees. The reason I did not enjoy that room had more to do with freeway noise. We had a top floor room with those ceiling windows which may have let in more noise, but freeway noise there definitely was. No denying that. Perhaps a lower floor facing away from the freeway is better. Perhaps staying in one of the lower buildings facing the splash area is better.

The walk from the Hojo is not at all bad nor a major handicap to be held against staying there; it is less pleasant however than the walk through Downtown Disney to the DLH.

I found my stay at Hojo "serviceable" given the price.

They have since removed the offending trees.

I found our stay in the Disney view room OUTSTANDING, and we're going for round 2 in 3!! days. For the price, you can't beat it (assuming you're getting a good rate). The Disney view rooms are in building one, which are definitely the closest on the property regarding walking distances.

I would not pay the difference to stay in the DLR when HoJo is such a good alt. Unless DLR could guarantee (and it does not seem that they guarantee anything) a non parking lot view AND they had a killer rate, I would not ever stay there.

Yea, my husband seems to have his heart set on the DLH but the price difference is around $400!!! To me it doesn't matter or not if we CAN afford it, it just seems crazy.

Building 2 is our favorite, it's in the back so a couple minutes more of a walk - but it's quiet and overlooks the pool.
