Hi everyone. We are going for 7 days for our honeymoon in July. We are already doing Boma and Beirgatan. We are trying to decide between Garden Grill(Dinner), Ohana(Dinner), Chef Mickey's(Dinner), or Tusker House(Dinner) for our last buffet. We may do Cape May Cafe for breakfast to get our Character Dinner in. My fiance has never been to Disney World so this is her first time. Ive been there probly 8 times in my life. My family has always done Ohana but I'm not sure since the last time we were rushed some and it was like all the food arrived at the same time. I've never done Chef Mickeys or Tusker House or Garden Grill. I was thinking of cutting our TH since we are already going to Boma. Whats every one elses input favorites stories?

Thanks!!!!!

I like 'Ohana Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch rather than Cape May.

Garden Grill will be a little more quiet than the other choices.

i condisdered that but seeing lilo and stitch isnt a big deal to my fiance so if we did a character bfast maybe more the mainstream fab 5 ones im thinking. The garden grill has me really intrigued. Anyone like Tusker house for dinner or lunch?:goodvibes

Also we are not on the dining plan so price is a factor, paying $50 per person for Chef Mickey's is a yikes factor. Does anyone know what characters come to Tuskerhouse? Ive heard its the fab 5

Tuskerhouse has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy plus Donald in the AM (I believe) but I don't think they have characters for lunch or dinner.

If I had to pick - I would pick Garden Grill probably because it's the least buffet like (they actually serve you) and I just think its a unique place. I find buffets to never be super relaxing for a couple since you're constantly up and down- and for a honeymoon- I would want wait staff! So my vote is Garden Grill or somewhere completely different. Or Ohana. I have been rushed there too- its the nature of Ohana- but I think its better than getting up every two seconds to put food on your plate.

Chef Mickeys to me.... I just have no positive words about that place. I think my college dorm served better food than CMs.... sorry Chef Mickeys for all the hate- but step it up buddy!! :P

Right now there's characters for both breakfast and lunch at TH but starting in March, they will also be there for dinner. Right now the characters at TH are Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey. The only place you have all the characters from the fab 5 is Chef Mickey.

I never been to TH but heard great things.

Have you considered 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian? I always recommend that one, it's my favorite character buffet on property :-)

If your heart is set on one of the ones on your list, I voted for Chef Mickey's. My family has to go every year. It's a lot of fun, the food is great, and the character interaction is awesome!

Out of the four I would choose 'Ohana! It's one of our favorites and we've never had a bad experience there. The food has always been delicious, and we have never felt rushed - and, if I did feel so, would just tell them to 'slow' down. I will not be rushed when paying that much for the food and experience!!

I voted Tusker based on past experiences. Food and selection is great there! I've done TH and Boma in the same trip and both have so many choices, you shouldn't worry about too much overlap. Just don't book on consecutive days.

Of the others, I think Chef Mickey's in fine, more for the experience than the food. I was disappointed in 'Ohana, personally. It felt very disorganized and the food was middle of the road (except the booze in a pineapple, which was darn tasty!).
I have not done Garden Grill, but it does get pretty good reviews.

I've really enjoyed meals at all of your choices, so none are bad. I'd probably think about where you'll be each day to narrow it down. I'd do Boma on an animal kingdom day and if you won't be there twice, that eliminates tusker house as a second choice (even though it's good too!) I really like garden grill since it's all-you-care-to -eat and characters, but it's served to you and quieter than some of the others. If you'll be at Epcot twice (once for Biergarten and once for this), I'd pick Garden Grill.

I enjoyed Chef Mickey on 3 separate visits with my family (incl kids) and I think unless you're really interested in seeing the fab 5 there, I probably wouldn't pick it for just hubby and me. Definitely if you're feeling a bit kid-like and goofy (pardon the pun) it's still fun for a couple though.

If not on the dining plan, I'd round out any other meals with menu locations, which are almost always cheaper than Disney's buffets (so opposite of "real world" restaurants!)

I love O'Hana also but agree that the experience isn't quite as good as it used to be. We are looking forward to TH dinner later this year and happy to hear characters will be added!!

Tusker House is Donald (outside before you actually enter the restaurant--no autograph, just pics), Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy Duck. We went for breakfast, so I can't comment on the lunch/dinner buffet, but the breakfast was good. Don't know what their situation is with characters at dinner--don't think they have them, but might be adding them.

The Hubs and I were at 'Ohana last February for dinner. It was a fun experience, but it's not on our must-do list in the future. The food was just so-so, and considering the fact that we paid out of pocket, $90 for dinner for two people for so-so food is a bit pricey.
