Hi,

I'm a collector of hinged porcelain boxes. Some people call them trinket or treasure boxes. Sometimes when you open them they have a picture inside on the bottom or a charm inside. I have many different kinds (75) but my favorites are the Disney ones that I've been able to get at the Lenox outlet for $10.00 and under. Yesterday I bought a Bambi one for $10.00. My DH and I will be in WDW in two weeks. Does anyone know where in any of the parks I could buy porcelain boxes such as these? They don't have to be Lenox. Any will do. It would be my ultimate souvenir. Thanks.

You might try Germany, England or France in Epcot, I have seen shops that have boxes such as you described (I have to admit I haven't stopped to look at them though).

I did have a Lenox box myself but it was cardboard. I got it when I bought my new air conditioner. I didn't think to save it though, as soon as the air conditioner was removed from the box I just threw it away (the box not the air conditioner). Who knew these were collectible? I will definitely check with Home Depot and see if they have any other Lenox boxes. Are the furnace boxes collectible too? I also have a Linux box that I use mostly for software develpment. It is aluminum though. About the only thing inside of that is dust (I really need to vacuum the inside of that computer).

You will also want to check the Art of Disney. They may have a few as they sell Lenox Figurines in the one in Epcot.

I like this one...

Very funny, Jeff! And Nat, that Bambi one you pictured is the one I bought for $10. It is for the Bambi's 60th Anniversary.

The outlet is in Langhorne, Pa. on Rt 213 in the Bucks County Business Park, ph. 215-741-7670. It is the Lenox Collectibles Outlet. They'll have boxes but also have those items offered for sale in Parade, Women's Day,etc. Dolphins, tigers, plates, lighthouses etc. What they sell is overstock. I've bought beautiful hand painted vases, watches, plates and Christmas ornaments. The tag on the Bambi said original price $29.00 and I paid $10.00. I also bought a Pooh box for only $8.00.

Thank you everyone for your tips. I'll check out the countries in Epcot and the stores on Main street, and Art of Disney etc.

On property will carry them, the one at DTD, Epcot, and the newest one at AK... they have other types too, called pin boxes..
