Hilton Head Island Pin Trading

I am going to be at the Disney HHI resort over the New Year. My family and I are wondering if they have pin trading there. I thought I read somewhere that they do have it, but I did not see it anywhere "official." Any information would be appreciated!

We are just back and I did see a pin trading activity on the activity sheet. Sorry, I don't remember what exact day its on as we did not do it.

The CMs at the resort will trade with you. When we were there they had a trivia question each day at the Merchantile. If you got the question right you might get a pin or 2 trading pins. My kids hadn't traded pins before, but they enjoyed swapping their prize pins with the CMs. It is a nice excuse to chat and be social.

We were there this week. The event was at 1 PM on Tuesday for us. My son went. He said two other families were there as well. He got several unusual pins from the CM's and bought many others from the gift shop. He even took up the "3rd Way"..... Pin Begging (as opposed to buying or trading) and got one from a cast member on our last day without a trade.

There is so much to do that it is not surprising so few people showed up.

No, they don't wear them all the time. They keep them behind the counter at the Mercantile or behind the desk at checkin. Sometimes they wear them. Ask at either location and they will let you look and trade from the lanyards.

One thing I liked at HHI was that very few people pin trade there, so you're more likely to see Cast Lanyard pins there than at WDW. I've always been amazed at the # of CL pins available on the CMs lanyards. And when I told a CM at the front desk that I collected CL pins, she went into the back and brought out about 5 lanyards for me to look at. So bring plenty of pins to trade if you like the CL pins!

The CM's you see in recreation (who lifeguard and run most of the activities) generally don't wear or trade pins. The CM's in the mercantile often have pins to trade (as mentioned above) and also the CM's at the front desk in Live Oak Lodge are happy to pin trade as many of them wear lanyards.
