Hilton Head in November

My brother-in-law took a golf lesson at a near-by golf course. For only $30, he got the semi-private lesson & transportation. He thought it was very reasonable, and a lot of fun!

Do you know which golf course this was? As soon as DH heard about it, he decided he wanted us to give it a try.

Thanks again everyone for all the great information. this board has so much more information that any Disney site:love:

If anyone visiting HHI resort is a wine lover or even an afficianado, you might enjoy a visit to the Island Winery [http://www.islandwinery.com]. We went there today and had a good time just sampling the wines for sale there [without staying for the wine and cheese flight]. Wound up buying a case of several different wines to take home to enjoy and to share with friends!

It was explained that the business imports the grapes but completes the rest of the process from crushing to blending to aging to bottling right on the island. It was a nice way to spend some time on another cloudy and not real warm day.

I am leaving early this Sat. morning.....post your trip report, we can compare notes! This will be my first time to HHI.....

Hi Hope... :flower3:

I know you will have a great time. Sit back... enjoy... bike around if you want. Walk around if you rather... HHI is just the best resort for experiencing nature. I am sooo jealous of you right now.... HHI is seriously challenging VB as my favorite resort.

Looking forward to you're report. :thumbsup2

hi All!
We are going to visit HH resort in November and would love any suggestions! It's probably going to be a little cool for the beach and none of us are golfers. Are there any great restuarants or sites not to be missed? Is there some outdoor nature preserve?
Thanks so much! Feel free to email as well :) SparklsPd@aol.com

I haven't read every post so excuse me in advance if I'm recommending the same as others.

We went in November a couple of years back and while cool, we had a great time.

I got to play golf twice (at Hilton Head National and Golden Bear). Both are nice courses and have discounts available (check-in material had info on this). I would have loved to play at Harbour Town but way too expensive for me. :sad2:

We did go down to Sea Pines though to check out Harbour Town, do some window shopping and hit the Salty Dog for a t-shirt. Growing up on Cape Cod (where we have the Black Dog t-shirts) I couldn't resist it.

There are a couple of good restaurants right across the marina from the resort too. I can't remember the names but the Italian one was quite good. Lots of shops there too.

Our son loved the planned activities (nightly campfire w/ ghost stories, a magician one night, roasting s'mores, "fish painting" which I can't explain you just have to see it, and the bedtime story in the main hall with warm cookies and milk were all great).

One of our best days we had was spending a day in Savannah GA. About 1 1/2 hours or less if I remember correctly by car. We did the sightseeing bus with on/off priviliges all day. Great bars, restaurants and people. We loved the Pirate House.

It was a very quiet time to visit overall. We came back relaxed and refreshed. Have a great time!

Any suggestions for renting bikes? Can they only be rented through disney? Do we need to bring bike locks? Are they decent bikes? I am not much of an athlete, lol.:yay:

As Doc said, you can rent bikes from Disney or others easily.

I want to tell you that biking on HHI is not a hard work-out. All the paths are pretty level ground and it is just fine cycling around. We have rented from Disney and the bikes are fine... just remember to ask for a basket...

Have a great time. :thumbsup2
