You are correct, it has been closed for some time. I know it was still there early summer 2003, but I think by fall 2003 it was gone. I remember that because I broke my leg in March 2003, and the last time I went to that store I was still using a cane.

It is closed. And it was never actually on the island. It was quite a ways before the bridges. I would guess a good 15 to 20 miles from the Disney resort. It was in one of those outlet malls you pass on the way to HHI.

I guess I should ask if the Pirate's Island Adventure Golf place is still there? I read there was a pirate themed mini golf near by and I searched online and came up with this...

Pirate's Island is stil there. There's a coupon book you can get for free called "The Big Fat Coupon Book" which usually has a coupon in it for PI.
