We are looking at the possibility of pit-stopping at Hilton head for a night or two next summer to check it out either coming or going to Florida from Virginia.

It would serve to break up our drive and allow us to experience Hilton Head with no plans to leave the resort until we continue on our drive.

We would require a 2 bedroom if dad comes with us or could do a studio or 1 bedroom if dad does not. (Family of 6, but with 1 under 3 keeping us at the 4 person booking with infant if DH doesn't come along with us).

Knowing me--we probably wouldn't use much of the kitchen on so short of a stay, sticking with things that could easily be done in a kitchenette.

Are there any studios that connect? Or am I out of luck since the whole resort (based on an explanation I just read) are lock offs....are there any connecting studios?

With all young children--a non-connecting studio isn't going to work, so I probably just answered my own question of which one I should book. Saving points sounded like a great idea though.

Thanks, LLP

There are no connecting studios. And studios are hard to get in the summer unless you own at HHI and can book closer to the 11 month window.

Hmmm....well..my plans are flexible, so I was just going to go with the flow.

Are the 2BR's easier to get? Doesn't matter either way. We didn't have point plans for 2011....2012, we planned a big to do in October. Perhaps, I should do that leg after summer? We own AKL, so we are stuck with a 7 month window. Haven't done too poorly with it, yet. So probably due for some reality checks at a non-home resort.:rotfl:

There are no connecting studios at any of the DVC resorts. HHI has many more dedicated 2 bedrooms as opposed to lock offs, and your chances of getting a 2 bedroom is more likely to happen than either a studio or a 1 bedroom.

That answers the 2BR question.

Thanks!:goodvibes

There are only 21 studios at HHI; there are 76 2-BRs. So obviously it's much easier to book a 2 BR. Like the PP stated, studios are VERY hard to get during the summer unless you own there, so it would be nearly impossible to get 2 studios. I would plan on getting the 2 BR.

We will stick to the original idea.

Thank you!
