Many of them are still slamming Hillary and it's getting under my skin. Victory isn't enough but they want it all a certain way. It's amazing.

I need to stay out of the political threads today.

 :flower3: to hillary supporters.......

this campaign was such a rollercoaster .....i know there were times I thought we were down and out and it really hurt to believe so strongly in someone and think of them losing....

You know that whatever she does in the future , she will continue to be a strong force in our government and a strong advocate for the people of our nation....

Thanks for the comments. :thumbsup2

I agree that two terms would be nice. It'll take a while to undo all of the damage.

If you're still feeling raw, I would definately stay away today. It's going to be brutal. I don't necessarily think she should have conceded last night either and the media knew she wasn't going to, but now it's an issue. Do I think she should have added some things to her speech? Yes, but I think she did good and she made it known that's there's more to come. We're all shaking our head on what's to come now. :confused3

Totally agree.
Maybe it is best to totally stay off these boards.

It seems like some are not happy until they have Hillary's head on a stake. :(

I just wanted to peek my head in & congratulate all of you on a well fought battle. :) Whatever the outcome may be, you have a lot to be proud of.

I would've said something here last night but emotions were running pretty high & I was afraid my posting anything period might upset some of you. I didn't want that to happen.

Here's hoping that "unity" can become more than just a pretty catchphrase for us all. :lovestruc

If they had Hillary's head on a stake some would complain because it was turned to the left instead of to the right.

I'm just tired of all of it. I liked her speech. I thought it was appropriate to the moment but even then I can respect those who don't agree. Some of them don't simply disagree though but go on and on about how hateful and vicious and so on Hillary is. Some of them need to get over themselves and consider dealing with McCain. Hillary isn't the enemy.

Plus Bill gets brought up more and more as being a problem. I just wish that he was our President still. :(

OK, vent over.

Naw, a bit of understanding and even a well-thought out reason for not liking Hillary never bothered me. Just the barbs.

I think that the OS have a lot to be proud of. I mean, who was Obama just a short time ago? Look at how much he's accomplished! :thumbsup2

OMG!!! I just busted out laughing over that comments. The thing is it is true, there would be some who would complain about it!

Thanks for the laugh this morning ;)

btw--I totally agree with the rest of your post

Hi all,
I just wanted to quickly come by and say congratulations on a hard fought campaign. I may not have liked Hillary much by the end of the campaign but hey that's politics. She has made history just with this run and I am sure she will make more no matter what she decides to do.

For those that say right now you would vote for McCain, please be open in the next few months and wait to make such a final decision. :flower3:

I know you are all hurting right now and I will leave you to your grief but I wanted to let you know that not all OS are mean spirited. I just hope we will all be able to come together and bring a Democrat to the White House in November. :cool1:

I know. Its so frustrating.

The thing that's really annoying me right now is all the comments that Obama's life will be in danger if Hillary is VP. We can't bring up the topic of assassination, but we can bring up the topic of Hillary committing murder? where is the logic? (For the record I think both topics are inappropriate )

Many of the OS have been really great. They fought really hard and I congratulate them.

It's the same DISer posting it over and over again from what I've seen. The wording never changes so apparently this person is just pasting it in every thread. Weird. :confused3

I wonder about some of those who are so against Hillary being VP. I noticed that some are Cons so of course they would be against it. Others puzzle me and make me believe that they really don't want party unity. :confused3

I just went to Hillary's site and purchased a Hillary T-shirt!
I plan to wear it proudly.

I don't vote for VPs. I don't think a book about famous/important/influential VPs in American History would fly off the shelves. Some important people have held the job, but their talents were wasted in that position.

I've stated early in the first HC thread that I wasn't going to vote for Obama. I voted for HC in the Primary here. I voted for him for the Senate. I've stated all of this before, but this is why I won't vote for him again:

The speeches he gave when running for Senate were very similar to the speeches he's giving now running for President. One of the keys he ran on was health care in Illinois. I was very impressed with listening to him speak. He sounded different than anyone else.

Since my wife was a high risk pregnancy with my first child and this was near the same time I paid very close attention to this issue. It doesn't make a difference to me if there is universal health care in this country or not if there are no practicing OB/Gyns in Illinois. They're all leaving the state to go to Wisconsin and other border states because of lower insurance rates. In some parts of Suburban Chicago (kind of a major metro area) you have to drive to a different county if you are a high risk pregnancy because you can't get a doctor to treat you. Just the kind of thing you want to do if you're high risk-drive a lot.

Obama promised to bring everyone to the table-doctors, lawyers, insurance people...of course he would have the biggest chair, because he was the senator (wait for laugh line). And everything would be worked out. This meeting never took place. But he was on Oprah a few times!

Since that election, I've had my second child. Another doctor has left my wife's practice. They have also started sharing the office with some people doing hair removal and a GP of some kind. So there are old guys sitting around the waiting room looking pretty uncomfortable with a bunch of pregnant women.

We have a shortage of specialists in Illinois. It has nothing to do with people being uninsured. It has to do with malpractice being too high in the state for the doctors to practice in the state so they're closing up shop and moving next door. If you take a blow to the head in southern Illinois, you better get someone to drive you as fast as possible to Indy or Missouri because there aren't many Neurologists down south. Here in Chicago, my neurologist is slightly specialized so I have to book him about 3 months out. If I want to change my meds or something I have to talk to a nurse who has to talk to the doctor who has to then talk back to the nurse who then has to talk back to me.

Now he's going to bring a bunch of people to the table as President. Of course, he'll have the biggest chair, yadda yadda yadda.

Fool me once, shame on you.

I didn't read this the first time, so thank you for posting it again.

I'm not surprised....:worried: This is what I fear. I can't believe that even many OS conceeded Hilarry had the best health care plan, but went for Obama anyway because he is "inspirational" Well, I hope that "inspiration" cures their illnesses!

I can't believe that this country is going again, for the third time in a row, for charm (though again, I don't see it) over substance! :headache:

Good morning everyone!

I have spent the last few minutes catching up with the posts on the political threads and I just have a couple of questions to Senator Obamas' supporters, because I know you lurk here.

1) If you are so opposed to Senator Clinton being the Vice President nominee,
give me a name thay you think has the same mass appeal across the country as she does.

2) besides the obvious reason that you don't like her, what are some of the reasons you don't want her on the ticket.

Lastly, some of you are under the impression that Senator Obama will get to pick his running mate. He will have serious input , BUT the DNC will make the final call. If the candidate got to choose, do any of you think Dan Quayle would have been Vice President.

I like Hillary for VP, but not if you guys won't vote for the ticket. Otherwise, what's the point? We pull in a Mike Bloomberg as a Clinton replacement, immediately get economic gravitas out the yingyang and we get Reagan Democrats, Indys, and Republicans (even those who would vote against Hillary just out of spite) by the boatloads. Everyone knows the DNC/RNC has always had last call on VP, nothing new there.

Last night almost all of the OS were praising Hillary's speech...than you watch the news and all you hear are the OS and the Hillary haters for the most part talking about how she did not do this and do that in her speech...all of a sudden the OS and Hillary haters grabbed onto that and ran with it.

I dont blame them I blame the media....the media just should have ignored it like FOX did and just moved on to the election and the next step. I am glad for how Hillary did her speech. Could she had added a little more unity...sure but she was celebrating her victory in SD and talking to her supporters and thanking them.

It was up to Obama to give the better unity speech last night not her. Obama was the one who's night it was not Hillary's but they spent all there energy talking about Hillary and getting there last bashing in...when they should have pushed her aside and talked about Obama...

CNN had a panel of all OS and one Hillary supporter on there panel..gee go figure. Hillary is a fighter and she made that clear last night. She will I'm sue come out soon and work on unity. But not sure if that will make a difference. My problem is not with Her but with Obama and the DNC....just because she will ask for us to go to the party does not mean I will.

The only one that can bring me over to Obama is Obama...and he will have to work real smart to do that.

I was not online last night..... I formed my opinion of Hillary's speech when I watched it live.... no influence by media!! So my opinions posted today are my opinions from the first moment I heard her speech!!

I also watched obamas speech and I thought he was gracious and unifying!!!

""We are Americans first and foremost!!!"" stop the divisiveness....can't get more specific than that can he???

ETA obama can work hard but it will mean nothing if you are not open to hearing it.....

I think that the overwhelming majority of Clinton supporters will vote for Senator Obama if she is on the ticket. I could be wrong ( I usually am:rotfl2: )

I personally like Mayor Bloomberg, but a possible problem with him is What is he? Republican? Democrat? Party flip-flopping could be seen as a potential problem.

I like Webb. The only problem I can see is that you have two candidates with not much experience nationally and that may not fly with older Democrats, but stranger things have happened.

That is very true...the DNC will push it ...but to me that is not fair for Obama to have a gun put to his head. I just cant think of anyone else that I would feel safe with to stand next to him :confused3

I am undecided on how I feel about her being his VP....The media is milking this all they can...anything to make news...you have pundits saying that she will stab him in the back first chance...she will push him out of the top floor and try to take his power away...she will take over all his issues for herself...and Bill will a big problem for him in him having a past POTUD...and they keep going on...well not only are they insulting Hillary but also Obama making him sound weak...

Then there are the others that say..he needs her and her voters ...that all that needed to be put aside for the party....I m so tired of hearing about the party....I say let Obama pick who he wants and move on....if he looses he looses , if he wins he wins...let him work for us.....let him work to convince us that he is better than McCain...he is trying for the POTUS JOB not the party JOB....

I wish the media would just shut up and stop adding so much of there OPINIONS into everything they say.....leave that for us on the Internet....and the blogs....

If the media keeps going on Hillary and the OS follow ..than Obama will have no chance with those of us on the fence or who has decided to jump ship.
