Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

Good morning everyone!

I have spent the last few minutes catching up with the posts on the political threads and I just have a couple of questions to Senator Obamas' supporters, because I know you lurk here.

1) If you are so opposed to Senator Clinton being the Vice President nominee,
give me a name thay you think has the same mass appeal across the country as she does.

2) besides the obvious reason that you don't like her, what are some of the reasons you don't want her on the ticket.

Lastly, some of you are under the impression that Senator Obama will get to pick his running mate. He will have serious input , BUT the DNC will make the final call. If the candidate got to choose, do any of you think Dan Quayle would have been Vice President.

There are so many strong choices, Richardson comes to mind, Edwards, Bloomberg, among others.

After HRC's attack campaign against Obama, how could anyone respect her falling in line behind him? Even in her speech last night, her defiance was strong and unyielding. With the added negative of having to keep a muzzle on Bill Clinton, there are too many good candidates to consider.

To say that the party would force the VP choice, no. Putting HRC on the ticket would result in constant challenge and her supporters would still not be satisfied. She didn't campaign in primaries for the number 2 spot on the ticket and even had the nerve to offer the VP slot to Obama when she was behind! The power play taking place with HRC claiming 18million+ popular votes and the need for HER supporters to not be invisible is political extortion.

I was not online last night..... I formed my opinion of Hillary's speech when I watched it live.... no influence by media!! So my opinions posted today are my opinions from the first moment I heard her speech!!

I also watched obamas speech and I thought he was gracious and unifying!!!

ETA obama can work hard but it will mean nothing if you are not open to hearing it.....

I dont want him to work hard....I want him to work smart..... My mind is open but he needs to win my trust and to show me his judgement can be good and that he can gather experience fast....he has done that for you OS that is why he was/is your candidate...he has not done that for us HS....

And as for Hillary they need to get off this VP stuff and move on to go with McCain.....they are still keeping her in it in many ways....also in showing Obamas weaknesses....that is not helping me.

I want them to start on the 2 candidates...Hillary is out of it.....whether she conceded or not she is out of it. CNN is more on Hillary than on Obama today...what's up with that same with last night...it was his night but they just could not help themselves...and that was the OS media doing it....

If they expected her to cowell and start crying than they dont know Hillary...she said she was not going to conceded last night over and over yet they were all surprised when she did not. She was talking to her supporters not anyone else...to us.

She will come out and back Obama....I dont want this to go to the convention because it will make no difference...and I dont think she will do that. In the beginning of her speech she was gracious to Obama and his supporters...is she had given a better speech than Obama they would have been talking about how it was his night yet she had to give a better speech than him.

I think that the overwhelming majority of Clinton supporters will vote for Senator Obama if she is on the ticket. I could be wrong ( I usually am )

If he does tap her for the job, I certainly hope you're right...

I personally like Mayor Bloomberg, but a possible problem with him is What is he? Republican? Democrat? Party flip-flopping could be seen as a potential problem.

Hey...Hillary was a "Goldwater Girl" and you guys got over it.

I like Webb. The only problem I can see is that you have two candidates with not much experience nationally and that may not fly with older Democrats, but stranger things have happened.

I don't really see Webb as the VP candidate either. He's young, dynamic, and has a great future in the party, but he has a reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon. Not the most desirable quality in a runningmate.

That's what I told the OS some time ago. The candidates have to work for the votes. It doesn't matter one tootin what the supporters or media says. I don't think the candidates are divisive, I think the media is separating the two. They feed their opinions and get everyone all worked up. My anger is at the media.

I came to term with the fact that she was losing and I mourned the last time we had an upset and I came on here all sad that one day. I think it was before exams or something. That's why I'm sad, but I'm not mourning because I had my chance to come to terms with it awhile ago. She has inspired me and many people to not quit and to fight for what you want and make it happen.

I think I'll order Hillary's book from Amazon. It's usually cheaper than going to Schuelers Bookstore and paying an arm and a leg.

Funny the words .... even in Her speech last night was her defiance was strong and unyielding....were the words the media has been using....


most the OS said they likes her speech till they started listening to the media who has been fueling the fire...... and if the OS cant see that than there is not hope because it will force more HS to be sure not to vote for him....

The media works in 2 ways...to make both supporters like and hate each other.....that has been clear from the beginning....when it comes down to it the media is out to make a buck and get people to watch. Bad things about people get more people to watch than good things...the OS should understand that with all the REV stuff and so on about Obama.....

I disagree. I believe that Obama attacked Hillary harder than she ever attacked him, especially by pulling the race card and it was confirmed yesterday that it was the Obama campaign that falsely told the AP that Clinton aids stated that she was conceding last night - I think she had other plans on that one. . HAD she wanted to do some serious attacking she could have hit him over his dirty Chicago political ties, the dead choir director at his church, she could have been the one digging up the footage of Rev Wright and other stuff at Trinity Church that the GOP now has to use against Obama in the general election. And, I haven't looked into this myself, but apparently the Wall Street Journal is reporting that there is a 2nd controversial tape from 2004 pertaining to both Obama and Michelle. The general election should be fun - for the Republicans.

I dont see Obama and Hillary having any problem together, I think they can over come that and work great together and bounce off ideas well with each other, However....I see Bill and Michelle...having the problem....they will need to build a boxing gym so they can box it out....

I think if Bill were to poo poo Michelle or Michelle with Bill, Obama and Hillary would do her best to stop him...same for Obama with Michelle...I think he would put a plug in that also.

Obama and Hillary are much on the same track....and I can tell ya one thing....if he did take her as his VP....there is no VP that McCain could come up with that Hillary would not clean up the floor with in a debate.

And in addition the Cons do not want the ticket because that is not a good thing for them.

People are making a great assumption here. The assumption is that Hillary's supporters will vote for no one but Hillary. No one is going to tell me that everyone of the 17,000,000 + who voted for Hillary are going to stay with Hillary. A great chunk of that support will move over to the Democratic candidate, now, Obama. My 89 year old mother, who was another "Harriet Christian" decided today she will vote for "the Democrat".

Yes, Hillary had an impact, but let's not overstate the case and use that to assume the election is "no one but Hillary". No one knows how Hillary's support will go. The next few weeks will tell the story.

You asked for possible VP nominees: Governor Kathleen Sibelius, Governor Janet Napolitano, Senator Jim Webb, and I still wouldn't count him out .......... Al Gore.

There are lots of qualified, unifying candidates out there without the Clinton baggage.

All I have to say is Hillary got something like 17 million votes. She has earned anything she gets. It's not like Obama won by a landslide.

I think Obama will implode for the general election and he will lose. I hope Hillary turns down the VP slot. She can win the office next time around.

Maybe...but most have voted they wont...and do you want to take that chance? at last count 52% of the 18 million said they will not...and 14% were still undecided, and that's a lot of voters....not to mention the ones from the 52% that said they will go over to McCain .....and as for the VP choices...they are the same ones that CNN has said ...but they poo pooed most of them lacking much on a lot of strengths...although they have not mentioned GORE but he does not want it he said.

Nothing is static in politics. Things constantly change. What a poll is saying today does not tell you what a poll will tell you next week.

No one knows what Hillary's support will look like in a week or 2 weeks including the Hillary campaign. That's why the Hillary campaign wanted a meeting today. Her numbers may drop drastically as the media coverage turns away from her to Obama. There will be some drop off due to media coverage as people focus on November and McCain .......... that poor soul.

It just blows my mind how supposedly fellow Democrats treat Bill Clinton. He was a successful 2 term President. When was the last time a DEMOCRAT was a 2 term President. You better get out your History books folk for that one, most of you probably were not voting age, if even born yet. Harry Truman 1945-1953!
Bill Clinton was the ONLY recent Democrat that was able to keep the White House for 2 terms!

I am amazed how people quickly forget about the things he did.

Obama's support has dropped sinec the Rev stories, they will continue to drop as the GOP keeps it on the front burner.
Look at how many primaries Hillary won vs. Obama's primaries since the Rev Wright scandal. I am sure there is more footage for the GOP to use against Obama

Oh yeah, it's a good time to be a Hillary fan. We can just sit back and watch Obama and McCain duke it out
