Robinb....I thank you for wanting to unite...I hope no one took my post as hateful...it was not meant to be, really I want to convince ardent HRC supporters that it is okay to join us in supporting Obama. It REALLY matters to me that we can get together....I respect the fact that there are passionate people out there and I don't mean to hurt them, but I want to try and help us all come together...somehow.
I thought long and hard before I post this post, so I don't want any one to take it the wrong way, especially the Obama supporters
With that being said:
The Democrat progress has been long and hard. Some feelings have been hurt and some ties have been broken.
Now I am not counting Hillary out. I will continue to support her until SHE calls it quits. What I don't like is Obama supporters reaching over here while she is still in the race. Sure the writing maybe on the wall but let us Hillary supporters have our fun and support a candidate we truly believe in.
I am sure a lot of us deep down know it doesn't look good for Hillary but we don't like Obama supporters telling us so. We don't need that and it really doesn't do any side any good.
If the Obama supporters really wants us Hillary supporters to unite with them then you need to wait until HILLARY steps down and then give US some time to heal. Do not expect us to jump on the Obama bandwagon right away. It won't happen. Pushing Obama on us before we are ready will ONLY turn some of us off.
Yes, I have said as of right now I will not vote for Obama but November is a long ways away. I could change my thoughts (stranger things have happened) but telling me to think about the good of the party and the supreme court and telling me I am siding with McCain will NOT get me to change my thoughts. If anything it will drive me further away from supporting Obama.
I know in my heart of heart I will never be able to vote of McCain, but will I be able not to vote Democrat? I have never skip a Presidential election and have always voted Democrat --- could I honestly go against what I have always done in the past? I don't know, but I do know being told I
have to vote for Obama or I am not really a Democrat will not help with my decision and will only drive me away.
Obama supporters say they want to unite with Hillary supporters then do not push your candidate on us before we are ready.
We know all the reasons you think your candidate is better then Hillary. We don't need or want to hear them because we disagree. We need to agree to disagree. I will always think Hillary is the better candidate than Obama no matter how everything turns out. No one will get me to change that, don't try to agrue it or change my thoughts, I just ask you to accept it.
I promise I do respect your reasons for supporting Obama even if I don't agree with them.
If/When Hillary steps down you (Obama supporters) NEED to step back and let us Hillary supporters come to terms with anything. We do not need a push, OK? Pushing Obama on us too soon we turn us off. Obama NEEDS us Hillary supporters to win in November so be gentle to us
Most of us probably will come to terms and vote Democrat in November. Heck, maybe I might.
But I won't support Obama before I am ready so do not push
When you push your candidate on us before we are ready you are helping McCain
So all I ask is just give us time and step back. Most of us will probably go over to Obama in November, if need be, just be patient and let us heal from a long, hard fight.
