We have West Virginia to look forward too!:thumbsup2

Yes and she will win that....and a few others but cant see the SD taking it away from Obama after tonight. I expect the SD to start tomorrow heading over to Obama to end this.

Yeah, my heart was on the floor just an hour ago. That's because I had high hopes for today. But it's not over yet. It wasn't the best night, but it's not over.

It WONT BE OVER UNTIL AUGUST!

I just read his comments. What the heck was he thinking?

I hope that someone looks into this, not because I expect it to help Hillary all that much but someone needs to put this jerk into his place if he's been up to something shady.

Hey everyone. THanks for your well wishes for my dd. She did fabulous as did the whole choir. It was the bright spot of the evening.

But the rest of the evening went down hill. My car broke down. In fact it's still sitting on the side of the road in downtown Dallas. Can you say a little prayer it's still there (unharmed) in the morning? And that it doesn't cost a fortune to fix.

And worst of all is coming home to read this thread about Hillary. This is killing me. I really believed that she'd win by a much larger lead. I cannot believe we're going to wind up with Obama as our nom. I just don't think I can bring myself to vote for him. I can't.

They called NC for obama with 0% reporting.(CNN) :confused3

I don't understand.

Exit polls showed a big Obama win in North Carolina. That coupled with early voting and it was an easy call right when the polls closed. Exit polls in Indiana showed an advantage for Hillary, but they were way too close to call on that basis alone. Moreover, in Indiana, there were several counties expected to go for Obama that report slowly. And as we saw as the night wore on, those that didn't call Indiana were right not to call it and there was some serious doubt up until the end. In short, races that end up blow outs are easy to call right when the polls close. Close races are not.

I hope that someone looks into this, not because I expect it to help Hillary all that much but someone needs to put this jerk into his place if he's been up to something shady.
Can we please stop with the conspiracy theories and name calling? Some serious sour grapes going on.

"Lake County Republican Chairman John Curley stood by his Democratic counterpart Rudy Clay as the nation waited for vote totals from Lake County. "There's no hanky panky going on," Curley said after members of the national media wondered why Lake County's votes were taking so much longer to count than the rest of the state. "We have more than 11,000 absentee ballots, far more than we've ever had before," Curley said, insisting it simply takes time to get through that many tallies.

I see no reason why the Republican Chair would lie to protect the rear of a Democrat.

Clay said the results were late coming in from Lake County because of the large numbers of absentee ballots that had to be counted -- about 11,000. Under local practice, all of the cartridges from voting machines in Gary and nearby East Chicago are first collected at the local airport before being driven to the county headquarters to be tallied with the results from the rest of the county, he said. He said there were no major technical problems holding up the count.

"It takes a little time. We want to be sure that every vote is counted fair and right," he said. "I just talked to the director out there and they are working like junkyard dogs to get that done as soon as possible. They are taking some time but I told them to do it right. That's what taking the time."

Union county took as long or longer than did Lake. Why isn't anyone ripping on them?

I will ask nicely: Please do not come on the Hillary thread and tell us to stop name calling. I can't take the OS that come on here and make statements such as that seriously when I know of all the name calling and bashing that goes on at the Obama thread.

This is our thread to vent - maybe we're right... maybe we're wrong in our statments. :confused3 But it's our place to vent. Calling us 'sour grapes' defeats your purpose to 'stop the name calling'.

Again, I do ask that you - and all the others- to please stop. We do not go and bash you or :stir: on your thread. Why are some of you so persistant on doing that to us? I'm really tired of it... really tired of it.

Sorry about your car! Bummer

Don't feel bad about not voting for Obama IF he gets the nom. I will not vote for him no matter how much guilt is thrown at me. This life long Democrat will not vote for him.
Like I said if the Democrat party really truly thinks the general population will support a candidate like Obama then the Dems deserve to lose the election! Sorry to say it, but they do.

Big deal he has the majority of the black and youth vote. That alone can't make a person president.

If someone doesn't do something about Michigan and especially Florida then you can see them in McCain's column. Maybe not so much Michigan as I believe that is a heavy blue state, but Florida will no doubt go Red.

Those southern states that are heavily Obama will go Red in November. So Obama looks good in those states now, but November is a whole different ball game.

I think truth be told is the Supers feel they HAVE to vote for Obama because if they don't they will look like racists. I thought this election wasn't suppose to be about race, but I see it being brought up more and more.

Deep in my heart I know people are not ready for a woman president. They are turned off by Hillary because she is an intelligent strong woman. She isn't one to sit back and let the men take over! She is a fighter, a lot of people don't like that.

I pretty much know that McCain will get the White House in November.

I will go on record right now though that the ONLY way I will vote for Obama is if Hillary is his VP.
I don't know how likely that will happen (I personally think not very) but that is the absolute only way Obama will get my vote in November.

Well, it doesn't look good for Clinton. By the look on Chelsea and Bill's face during the speech, they looked heartbroken and knew this wasn't good for their campaign.

I would have liked her to win by much more than she did in Indiana. Wasn't this state suppose to be Obama's? I'm glad she won it, even if it was by a narrow margin. It shows Obama that there's a split of Dem's and he needs Clinton to win it. PERIOD! Without Hillary supporters, he's done before he even starts. Without Hillary as VP, you might as well hand it over to the Reps.

I feel like I need to defend myself a bit here. First of all, I didn't respond to GotDisney's post on the Obama thread. I don't even see those posts unless I make an effort to do so, if you understand what I'm saying. I was simply commenting on what was going on at the time (Hillary's speech), and enjoying the evening...just as many of you have done here following states like Pennsylvania.

Secondly, we on the Obama thread talk badly about Hillary. You on this thread not only talk badly about Obama, but about US. If you can't see the difference there, then I suggest you take a step back and look over the insults thrown at "OS" on this thread. If it feels like it's getting personal to you, you might want to think about the fact that it was you guys that made it that way.

Lastly, I can name about 15 reasons why I have said I would not vote for Hillary if she somehow got the nomination at this point. Probably more than 15. Yet I keep seeing people here say they "just can't" vote for Obama, and have yet to see a single solid reason why they say that. Exactly what has he done to cause people to have this kind of reaction? He hasn't unfairly attacked anyone. He hasn't been caught telling tall tales about anything. The worst thing he's been even accused of is having poor judgment when it comes to his choice of churches. Is that really enough to cause "lifelong Democrats" to feel like they "can't" vote for him? :confused3

Congrats on the win in Indiana, and the upcoming wins in WV & KY.

very well said!

I don't understand why you need to defend yourself on a Hillary thread. You don't like her, you won't vote for her, so why are you here? Oh, that's right...to set us straight on the facts. How nice of you.

Secondly, we on the Obama thread talk badly about Hillary. You on this thread not only talk badly about Obama, but about US. If you can't see the difference there, then I suggest you take a step back and look over the insults thrown at "OS" on this thread.

Guilty :flower3: Not everyone throws insults. I think this election is very personal. It affects each of us and our pockets. It does get personal. I don't think that name calling is a good idea and leads to more hurt feelings on both sides. It gets us nowhere.

Lastly, I can name about 15 reasons why I have said I would not vote for Hillary if she somehow got the nomination at this point. Probably more than 15. Why can't you accept people's gut feelings on things? Everybody votes based on different criteria and we all get our voices heard no matter what the reasons are behind them. Oh, that's right...I'm in Michigan and my voice doesn't count. Just let people vote the way they are going to vote. I certainly voted for GW, but not because I thought I could have a beer with him. I'm certainly not against those who feel that way, even though I may personally think that's a stupid reason. My DH thinks Obama is a communist, but that won't change my mind on him. I'm certainly not going to change his mind based on what he's read and believes.

Congrats on the win in Indiana, and the upcoming wins in WV & KY.

Thank you! And the same to your candidate on NC! What a landslide win for Obama! As much as it pains me to say it, he'll definately get some SD's out of that win for him. We'll go forward and hopefully this thing ends peacefully with some damage control to be done.

Does anyone have anything positive to say this morning? I'm down in the dumps and I'm usually pretty upbeat and I have a final tonight and a vacation in 3 days...I feel like crap. I actually had tears in my eyes for the first time during this campaign. Sigh...
