In North Carolina, rumor has it Elizabeth Edwards is going to campaign for and with Clinton. If true, who knows what effect that could have on the election
If that turns out to be true - Wow. I've been waiting to see what John Edwards plans to do and he may do nothing until the smoke clears but this is interesting.

That would be powerful for Hillary if Elizabeth Edwards won. In the beginning I supported Edwards and have nothing but rspect for his wife.

the biggest wildcards in this race are the Edwards and the Gores. I don't know that Hillary can get the Gores, too much history from his campaign, but I can see that she might get the Edwards.

I wasn't excited about John or Al as candidates-but I do value their opinions and I like both of their wives. :goodvibes

I'm sorry if I opened up a can of worms with my question about Obama vs McCain, but as a person who is still happy with both democratic candidates I'm having a hard time getting my head around the concept of not voting at all or voting McCain if your chosen Democrat loses.

I'm the one who should apologize and I will.

I am sorry that I took over the thread for a few pages. I am sorry if anyone thinks that I am calling them stupid for supporting Hillary, because those were not my words, intentions or personal feelings. And I'm sorry for being sarcastic about not voting for Hillary. I have been a long time Hillary admirer. I would love to see her in the White House.

I do think its wrong for Democrats on either side, who care about the issues that our party holds dear, to not vote for the Democrat. We can go back and forth on the short comings of every Democratic candidate, but at the end of the day we know what it is they want for this country and what they will try to do while in office.

I heard that also. I think it may have been on MSNBC the night of the PA elections. Elizabeth did say recently that she thought Hillary had a better health care plan. Last year I had a chance to go to a house party with John and Elizabeth here in NH, it was the week before she found out that her cancer had returned. I have to say she is a very sweet woman. They smiled at each other with such sparkles in their eyes. I sure hope that she endorses Hillary, it will give Hillary a boost in the south.

Thank you.

I think all we're (at least I am) asking for is some respect.

We made our candidate choice only to see it "disrespected" from time to time. And yes - some of us, in turn, "disrespect" Obama and Obama supporters.

I was one of those who said - Clinton or McCain - but when I took a step back and asked myself why - I found it was because of the heated debate. I was able to listen to Obama objectively and rationalize to myself - "ok - he's doesn't have enough experience, but at least he'll try to bring the government back to the center."

So while my first choice is Hillary - should Obama get the nod - I will vote against McCain - and hope Obama comes into his own fairly quickly. I don't think this country can afford George-Bush-like-first-term-mistakes.......

I don't think there would be GWB-like mistakes. We all now know that there were other priorities from those around him all along that led to his.

And though I would like to see Obama, I will not hesitate one moment to vote for Hillary should she get the nod.

There will be no vote from McCain here. Eight years ago, perhaps, now, never.

How many did Obama get?

Hillary will net somewhere between 9 and 12 delegates out of the state (depending on which site you're reading...CNN is the only one that says 12, the rest all say 9 or 10).

I just read on CNN and they updated the delegate count about a minute ago

New totals

Clinton 98
Obama 78

That's pretty good, considering I think that there are only 158 or so delegates available in PA. :teeth:

I'm checking around, but considering all of the estimates that are out there, I can barely find two sites that agree on any of it, including the total number of delegates available.

Just reporting what I read on CNN :confused3
Maybe that is counting supers I don't know.

Just rechecked because it was bugging me.
They said there are 179 delegates in PA and 30 super delegates

So the Clinton's 98 and Obama's 78 would add up :)

You wouldn't think this # would change, but yet everyone in the political/news media seems to not know how many delegates were up for grabs? Come on people. Or maybe PA keeps switching it on everyone to keep em guessing.

Are you on the wrong thread?:confused3

Why? Because I was mainly making fun of the new math the media talk about. Have you looked at my previous posts? Short term memory or has that sense of humor totally went out the window?

I have been waiting Edwards to come out but he said not till his State votes. His wife is for Hillary and Edwards Campaine Manager is for Hillary also so cant see why he would not be :confused3

Was watching Larry King live last night and I got the impression that one of the bush girls that did the book with her Mom is for Hillary. The daughter was bragging about Chelsea and wants do get together with her. When Larry asked Mrs. Bush who she wanted to get Elected she said the Rep of course. Than turned to her daughter and said you also...and she said well not necessarily...and went on about Chelsea :confused3

She looked at her mom and mom gave a little look as if to say...say no more and they moved on.

I missed Larry King...oh well. I watched the Today Show when Barbara and Jenna were on. Jenna is still a little new to interviews, because she seems to want to go on and on about nothing. I kept sensing that also from her mom when she would look at her DD. Kinda smiling and giving that look, like that's enough. Maybe I'm the only one that read into that?

It's cool that she gets along with Chelsea, something they both have in common.

Love that Elizabeth Edwards is going alongside Hillary! Love that support and I wish her husband would talk soon about Hillary. Can't wait! What a boost to the campaign.:goodvibes

Edwards backers call North Carolina primary clear choice between real change and more of the same[/B]

Raleigh, NC -- The Obama campaign today announced the endorsement of 49 prominent supporters of John Edwards - including Ed Turlington, Edwards’ former National General Chairman. These North Carolina leaders - ranging from Members of Congress to a former Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court to former law partners and longtime friends of John Edwards - cite Barack Obama’s commitment to fighting for change on behalf of working Americans and taking on the special interests in Washington.

"Barack Obama and John Edwards share a commitment to taking on special interests and standing up for regular Americans. Along with Edwards supporters from across the state, I am honored to join Senator Obama's movement for change,” said Turlington. “As president, he will bring together Democrats, Republicans and Independents behind an agenda of change. From ending the war in Iraq to confronting the scourge of poverty to making health care affordable for every single American, Barack Obama will bring our country the change we need.”

The diverse group said they are voting for Obama because he is the only candidate with a proven ability to unite America around a common vision and win the votes of Republicans and Independents whose support is critical to carrying the state in the fall.

Like Edwards, Obama refused donations from PACs and Washington lobbyists and vowed to stand up to the special interests that have blocked so much progress for working Americans in Washington, DC.

“John Edwards has dedicated his life and career to fighting poverty in America. Barack Obama demonstrated that same commitment when he turned down a high-paying job on Wall Street to work in Chicago communities decimated by steel mill closings,” said Louise Coggins, a social worker from Wilmington who has known John and Elizabeth Edwards for 30 years. “Senator Obama is now the only candidate in the race who doesn’t take money from PACs and federal lobbyists. We can count on him to stand up to special interests in Washington, DC on behalf of working men and women in America.”

We need everyone in North Carolina getting involved right away, by volunteering at their local office. If you are not in North Carolina, we need you to start calling here using the MyBO call tool, or take a trip here to make the biggest impact on the ground. Join Us!
