So when exactly did you personally interview every single Obama supporter so that you could make your sweeping blanket declaration that the only reason any black person on planet Earth would support Obama is because he is black?

You don't live in Texas. You are not a Democrat. So the methods used by the Democratic Party in Texas should reflect your views because...?

Did someone get up on the wrong side of the bed today? I bolded what you said in the above quote because it is a blatent misrepresentation. I never said that, but if it makes you feel better to put words in my mouth that's on you.

Also, I'm giving MY OPINION. Isn't that what discussion boards are for, or are they only for opinions you agree with?

I'm sure there are some blacks voting for Obama because he is balck, just as there are women voting for Hillary because she is a woman. And there are some people voting for McCain because he is neither black or a woman.

So, we all win some and lose some from this small group of small-minded voters.

Can we get past it already?

Get past it? It's something that they seem to simply adore talking about over on the Conservative thread...

Is this the Hillary thread? I seem to have lost it in the Republicans bashing Obama posts.

Very true. In addition, the person who wins the presidency will have to get support from more than just black voters, women voters and old white guy voters.

FWIW, I was an election official here in Wisconsin at the University and those students overwhelmingly voted for Obama. I could count the number of black voters I saw in 7 hours on one hand.

I've never posted on this thread but lurk. I feel the need to post because I'm sooo happy Hillary did well last night!
I hope this thread goes back to what it was a few days ago......just sayin.

I have really been enjoying being part of this thread also. I have gotten so much information from you fellow Disers, and have read all the links given for articles, quotes, etc. Keep them coming!!:thumbsup2 This is my fave by far (explaining the Texas caucus system):
"Actually, it's not even a primary; it's a primary-caucus hybrid, the electoral equivalent of the turducken." :rotfl2:

But reality has set in - and if she wins PA - she'll have a really strong argument to the supers for winning the nod - she's really got the democratic base supporting her

And she will win PA! Firstoff, I am in PA!:cool1: Secondly, it is a closed Election ONLY Democrats who have been registered for (I believe 6 weeks) can vote for the Democrat nominee. No Republicans, No Independants and no whacky Caucases here.

I was wondering the same thing?

I came on here to say I was glad she won some key states. She's proven at least that she can pull some numbers from the states that count. That's impressive considing she doesn't have much funds to run on. She may not win the nomination, but I'm glad she's still running.
:thumbsup2

So lets say she wins PA, what else is left with high delegate counts?

Good!!! It was obvious at our caucus that some Republicans crossed over to vote for Obama. In fact, one caucus attendee went so far as to propose a resolution for our delegates to present and supposrt a resolution at our county convention that if Obama won the national nomination that he be encouraged to name Ron Paul as his VP.

Now I have nothing againt Ron Paul, and I think he his the best Republican running...but a Democrat should not name a Republican VP. His motion received a second, but lost as he and his second were the only 2 that voted for it. Then he immediately left the caucus in a huff. :sad2:

It is a weird system here in TX. I hate the fact that we allow cross-over votes and do not register Democrat or Republican.

ETA: This article is disheartening. :(

The math isn't there for Obama either. He can win 100% of the vote the rest of the way and without the supers, he doesn't win.

If he has a problem with supers going against their voters wishes, why didn't he demand Kennedy change his vote after Clinton's double digit victory?

If she wins almost all the big states, which she has, continues to do as well or better among dems, she has a case to be made for herself.

Since Kennedy hasn't flipped over to the Clinton camp, how come it's being spun if she wins with the supers, she 'is stealing' the election?

It's interesting to me how the Obama people seem to overlook the fact that Obama can't get to that "Magic Number" either.
