Thanks for the article.

I still say its weird and needs to change! LOL ;)

I'm from NJ - we feel we can demand these things.......;)

Trust me, as we stood outside in the cold for an hour waiting for the voting to finish so that we could begin the caucus, everyone I spoke with agreed.

Oops, Dodd disappeared. I promise that one county had "Dodd" leading for a while.

Another thing, the border counties are of course going for Hillary so far. Voter turn out will make such a difference!

I saw that DODD county too!!!!:lmao:

Why is Obama speach sooooooooooo much longer than Hillary's tonight??????
And why is he now calling America ...ah-Mah-KA:lmao:

Now I'm really glad that I don't live some place like Houston.

The caucus in Texas has never been a big deal before, maybe after the chaos that has ensued everywhere tonight a change to get rid of it will be made.

Hound hasn't popped in ... I wonder how well the caucus is going in Austin.

From CNN:

Texas Democrats report complaints over caucuses
Posted: 11:25 PM ET

(CNN) — Following a Clinton campaign call alleging irregularities in the Texas Democratic caucuses, a state party representative told CNN that voters had been registering similar complaints with the party Tuesday evening.

“It is important to understand when you see a turnout in these numbers you are going to witness some problems, and the Texas Democratic Party has taken all the steps it can to make sure the process is run as smoothly as possible,” said Hector Nieto, the state party’s communications director. “We understand that there are voters across the state that have concerns, and we urge them to contact the call center.”

Nieto said the Texas Democratic Party had established a call center with 200 phone lines that was staffed by lawyers to “address any concerns.”

Nieto was unable to provide a time when the results of the caucuses would be made public. At stake in Tuesday evening’s party-run caucuses were 67 delegates. Earlier in the day, 126 delegates were on the line in the state-run primary.

I'm a bit worried about Harris County (Houston). Only 14% reporting so far and this is likely Obama country. My biggest hope is that the Hispanic vote hasn't be counted yet and will offset some of the Obama votes.

On a brighter note, Galveston is so far choosing Hillary! DH is from there and they tend to follow along behind Houston. It's close though.

Greetings from a Caucus goer.

I'm 2 pages behind here because i'm an hour behind on MSNBC on Tivo (so maybe you all have gotten a caucus report already). In my neighborhood it wasn't the Sharks vrs. the Jets. Recap:

- Showed up at 7:10 & 350 people are standing outside because there were 5th graders performing songs in the cafetorium. (genius scheduling ;))

- At 7:45 we're let in & were told to show our stamped vote card & sign a register AND VOTE FOR OBAMA, CLINTON OR UNDECIDED.

- Were told we could stay for the Caucus or leave. (I stayed)

- 2 or 3 Clinton people & 2 or 3 Obama people sat on the stage & counted the votes while the rest of us sat in the chairs & watched & visited with neighbors. (it was kind of cool) :thumbsup2

- fwiw, i live in a double latte neighborhood & Obama won our caucus 3-1 (ended up being 29-10 in precinct delegates) which was better than i had feared it would be.

- Then county "delegates" were selected (people voluteered) based on the above percentages & we all went home.

I've heard of problems elsewhere, & i'm not sure how this would happen (unless the first person who grabbed the rules prevented the votes from being counted by reps from both candidates...but who knows?) Our "caucus" was in our neighborhood so it was very friendly.

Other info:

- my wife stayed home with the kid so HC got an extra vote (since we didn't cancel each other out). :woohoo: (fwiw she likes HC almost as much as BO).

- 4 years ago there were 12 people at the caucus.

- It was fun, but i can see that Obama would have a huge adventage in caucuses because of the items i mentioned earlier.

Hopefully I'll catch up with you as I am zapping thru commercials, McCain & much of Tim Russert's & Chris Mathews's comments. :)

Obama is showing winning in the caucuses but that was expected. only by 800 at this point she is still doing better than I thought she would with them :thumbsup2

According to the map, Obama won here in Guadalupe County. Here is where the caucuses are important.

We just got home from our Caucus, there were three precincts that voted at the same place.

One precinct had 13 people show up to caucus, they had on delegate to the county convention. They had 6 people for Hillary, 7 for Obama, so Obama got the delegate. One precinct had NO ONE show up for caucus, and thus lost their delegates completely. My precinct had 88 people show up for caucus, 44% Obama, 56% Clinton. Most people signed in and left. I stayed for the whole thing, just to see what it was all about, and wound up being a Clinton delegate to the county convention. Our precinct was alloted 17 delegates, 7 Obama, 10 Clinton.

Who was it that posted Obama's Hollow "Judgment" and Empty Record above? (I don't have time to go back and look). That was a good, but scary, read. Scary because while this type of stuff about him may be buried at the moment - think about how this type of information (and anything else like it) that the Republicans dig up on him for the general election will show that he's really a very weak candidate.

That was me. It is a scary read isn't it? I have sent to everyone I know and I know two undecideds that became very decided after reading it!

PlanoGirl, how were the caucuses? I've never been to one. It actually sounds fun.

I'm not PlanoGirl but I just got back from the caucus and it was an incredible experience! They normally have about 10 - 15 people show up for the caucus there were about 400! For two precencts. My precent unfortunately went to Obama (there are a lot of college students in my area) But it was not a total loss. It was 122 Obama and 80 something for Hillary. So BO got 18 delegates and Hillary got 12. I stayed to the very end and I'm now one of the 12 Delegates for Hillary!

Had a very interesting conversation with a one of my neighbors- turns out he's a SUPER DELEGATE!! We talked quite a bit about the election and where Hillary goes from here. I was really happy to hear that what I suspected is true. If Hillary keeps it close in the delegate count, it really frees the Supers up to vote for whichever. He also pointed out that there are other factors that the Supers take into consideration particularly the popular vote, since it's possible to lead in the delegate count but not in the popular vote. So basically this race isn't over by a long shot!!

Wow! I missed out on a lot of excitement around here. :cool1: I'm celebrating now that I'm all caught up and have read the good news.

My DH took me out to dinner and to a Michael Buble concert for my birthday. We had a great time, but I kept wondering how the election was coming along. I came home to find out Hillary took 3 states. :woohoo: It was a great night all around.

Guadalupe Co went for HC. :thumbsup2

Great to hear it Chuck S.

Wow, i just caught up & it sounds like many of us saw the same thing. 10 times the number of attendees as 4 years ago, & (except for Chuck S) more BO supporters at the caucus even though it looks like HC might win the popular vote.

Need to stick a fork in Texas Caucuses....d*mn screwy process.

I'm getting a NH vibe. Consider the following for Ohio:

- Front page "NaftaGate" will fire up working class Ohioans.
- Was leading there anyway.
- SNL, Jack & Daily Show demonstrate she's the tough, cool, smart chick that we all knew she was. (& the big eyed b*tch if you get on her bad side. :lmao: ...which is ok too.)

But will "dittoheads" & late breaking HC voters neutralize double latte drinking children of baby boomers & crossover Republican voting HC haters?

I think so - HC 54% - BO - 45%

For Texas, see above & add great weather....& Texans love tough gals.....also, Eva Longoria is touring with her (trust me on this... All Latinas LOVE Eva, who is a Texas Latina version of Oprah & 99% of men think she's kinda "ok looking" ;) (Genius get on HC's part.).

But...I'm fearful that many republican hard liners are crossing over to vote BO because they can't stand HC. I'm hoping a few "dittoheads" neutralize these Republicans... who only want to hop in our hot tub & fart. Also, I'm hoping some who might have crossed over are voting for Huckabee instead to send JM a message (we can hope).

I'm also VERY fearful that BO supporters (who are wired in general & to each other) will get MANY more people to the caucus tonite than HC voters. So what do i think?

HC - 52% - BO - 47%......BUT BO will get more caucus votes & his precincts will be worth more....so i believe it will be a dead heat in delegates in Texas.

I defer to you all in VT & RI....but it looks like those to states might be a wash....anybody got any thoughts on the two NE states?

hound <----- likes Joan Jett, Chrissy Hynde & other tough chicks. :hippie:

:rolleyes1

:dance3:

:cool2:

Congrats to all of the Hillary supporters on great wins last night!
:thumbsup2

So who is going over to the Obama thread and asking them to conceed despite a well run race? :dance3:
just announced that Hillary has WON TEXAS :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
:cheer2: Just dropping in to say I voted for her.:cheer2:

Oh and hello to everyone on this Hillary support thread!!!:yay:

Well the good news is there's only one more caucus left. Obama won 2/3rds of the Caucus delegates so far. I don't know how many of the states left in play have open primaries. HC usually wins the Dem. vote based on exit polls.

Does anyone think He'd get 66% to 33% in those 12 or so caucus states in a primary among voters??

http://americanresearchgroup.com/

This is an interesting poll. It shows the difference between HC among Dems and total voters in Texas. The gap narrowed to just a few points, and that seemed to play out in the final days, she was still favored 54% to 43% among Dems, but the overall state was about 50% to 47% , which is right on target with how it's playing out(and they pegged Ohio at 56% to 42% which is pretty close).

If I were a super, I'd worry more about upsetting the core of the party than crossover votes.

Oh what a night! I watched Hillary's speech and I loved it! She is not out because this race is far from over ;)

I laughed at all the news and some Obama supporters saying Hillary should just hang it up now. Come on, like Hillary said let ALL voters have a say.
This race is so close that it would be down right stupid for Hillary (or Obama for that matter) to drop out.

I went to bed last night and Texas was still up in the air. I was thrilled to turn on my computer this morning and see Hillary has Texas in her column:cool1:

I know Mississippi is coming up and Obama will take that. But Penn. will be the one to watch. I really hope Hillary will get Penn. in her column.

I have been noticing for about a week that the Obama love in the media has been dying out. That is a good thing

It's a great day for Hillary supporters :goodvibes

So true - but Obama supporters overall tends to be very affluent - intellectual - know how to use the system folks. They will be very LOUDLY championing their candidate. A lot of them didn't even think last night mattered because of the delegate lead!

But reality has set in - and if she wins PA - she'll have a really strong argument to the supers for winning the nod - she's really got the democratic base supporting her.

The Obama argument will be - well the base will vote for us anyway - and we'll bring in the independents......

Its so exciting though to have a race matter!!!!!!!

GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
