It is especially frustrating to hear this when these are the same people that when confronted with questions about their candidate suggest you do your research.

What? You mean you don't thing the state of Florida needed to be "spoon-fed"? :lmao: Sorry. I thought I was past my resentment for that remeark, but I guess not.

I am feeling rather hopeful today. I heard on the news today that Hillary indicated she would not withdraw even if she did not win Texas and Ohio. I am all for that. I think the longer this thing takes the better Hillary will look and the latter voting states will not jump on the Obama bandwagon. Maybe that's just because I am so sure she is the better candidate that I am biased.

Good! I'm really glad that she's going to keep at it. The count is way to close for her to give up. The Obama supporters like to act as if he's light years ahead but that's not the truth.

I also agree with you that the longer this goes on the better Hillary looks. I've been saying for awhile that Obama is a weak candidate, I don't think he can sustain this through the national election. So a longer primary will test his mettle so to speak.

Interesting email I got today from one of my political friends:

This is the kicker for me...let me set it up...in his book, speaking about the constitution:

But what I appreciated most about teaching constitutional law, what I wanted my students to appreciate, was just how accessible the relevant documents remain after two centuries. My students may have used me as a guide, but they needed no intermediary, for unlike the books of Timothy or Luke, the founding documents- The Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Constitution- present themselves as the product of men.

Um...I hate to point this out..Timothy and Luke are also the products of men..there is no evidence supporting God penned them. But worse, he uses Timothy...not Mark or John or Matthew...Timothy, the books which instruct...No woman shall be over a man, Woman have no authority...and ought to be silent.

It's interesting that out of all the books in the Bible, Obama picks that one specifically for his example.

The Obama-luv on the Liberal Thread was really getting on my nerves. But when there were fellow liberals saying "too bad - so sad" that my vote would not count because of the bone-headed decisions of the party at state and national levels. Well - yeah - I yaged;) I still cannot believe that there are those that are so casual about dismissing anyone's vote - primary or not. And I call shenanigans on anyone that denies the argument would be different if those delegates were going to Obama.

But seriously. I (and many like me) do NOT want a do-over here in FL. How insulting to us to say that we are incapable of informing ourselves without being bombarded with appearances, tv & radio spots, mailers etc... In fact, I would say that perhaps our choice here in FL was probably the most "pure" because of this, wouldn't you?

It is especially frustrating to hear this when these are the same people that when confronted with questions about their candidate suggest you do your research.

Well I do agree that Florida came out and made a statement. However if they dont do a redu that will cause a lot of problems. The Obama campain will complain that not all his voters came out due to not being able to vote....yet when I have told OP's that well Hillarys came out and voted where were all the Obama supporters ? my answer back is that the Obama supporters have more respect not to come out and vote when told not to :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 ...Well Okay than.

I am listening to the news (CNN) and they are saying that in Texas(Obama only 2% ahead) and Ohio (Hillary is 5% ahead) that 30% of the hispanic vote is not being polled because they dont speak good English and that they are expecting the majority of those voters to go to Hillary:thumbsup2

When they did this poll talley it was averaged from 3 different polls.

OH NO...they are talking about a serious ice event tomorrow...and that it will keep the older voters in the house. They also said that it will be so bad that they may have to cancell it. If it is that bad they should. If they dont Than Hillary could very well loose Ohio due to the type of voters she has. Older that is and less money.

So what do you think about this Canada thing with Obama and NAFTA...they are saying that it was not true and today they are saying that it turns out that it is..the meeting that is. I hope they cancel for the Ohio vote!!!!!!!!

CNN mentioned yesterday that many Texas voters are NOT talking to pollsters!:confused3

I am not a Christian and really have no idea of the significance of one of those books over the others. Are you saying the other books are less misogynistic?

:scared1: No one has EVER admitted THAT before!!!
Be AFRAID , be very afraid!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Reminds me of the old Groucho Marx joke..... "I would never want to join a Country Club that would accept me. ;)"

I love Marx brothers movies...they are so funny. Groucho and Harpo were always my favorite :lmao:

Well there is a plenty of misogyny throughout the Bible but IMO Timothy is one of the most offensive. It's very specific about women not being over men, women not having authority, etc. It's the book that ultra-conservatives tend to use to justify women being subservient to men.

So was it a dig at Hillary or a way to show ultra conservatives he "gets it" or maybe just an odd choice?

OK. Thanks for the clarification.

I cant see Obama following that rule of thought mostly since his wife is anything but subservient...however I seem to get the impression that he has surrounded himself with people that believe such. But I don't get the impression he does.

But what the heck do I know :rotfl2:

I feel that way myself quite often. ;)

Interesting article...don't know if it's been posted. But it does point out a problem with the caucus system among other issues.

http://www.theperfectworld.us/thread.php?id=2423&postNum=1

On February 9th, Washington held a caucus that Obama won by nearly 40 points with 250,000 voters (a relatively small turnout). Two weeks later, the state held a primary that didn't count. The state didn't have any other major issues on the ballot. Voters were forced to sign a declaration swearing they belonged to the party whose primary they were voting in. Finally, the vote occurred after several weeks of solid Obama victories, which would presumably serve to inspire Obama and depress the Clinton vote. All these factors suggest that only the most dedicated voters would turn up, and that any undecided voters would be likely to be swayed towards Obama by the momentum he has built up.

A million voters showed up for the "meaningless" primary. Obama’s margin of victory shrunk to just 5 points. Without exit polls, demographic popularity can’t be assessed with certainty, but many of Washington's counties have nice clean demographic splits. Yakima County, which is 40% Hispanic, went 53-43 for Clinton. Cowlitz County, a white working class county, went 58-39 for Clinton. Overall, Clinton won or tied in 17 counties, which means that the delegate apportioning would have had very different results with a primary--particularly if voters had thought it counted.

Here is my spin on tommorrows primaries!

I base this on 2 things. One is the amount of $ donated to each candidate,
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/map/
and The other is if the Democrat Primary is OPEN to Republicans & Independants to vote.

Unfortunately only RI is semi closed. I "think" an Independant can vote in Democrat Primaries there. The other are all open.

In regards to the $. It has been reported that Hillary's supporters give $25, $50 at a time, and Obamas give $100. Therefore if Hillary has $100, I will count that as 2 votes, and Obama has $100, I will count that as 1 vote.
(Very Scientific...HUH!:lmao: )

Texas
Hillary $ Contributions 4,744,000
Barak $ Contributions 3,224,000

Hillary will Win by a significant #. If it wasn't a wacky primary, and if it was closed I would say she would win BIG.

Ohio
Hillary $ Contributions 934,000
Barak $ Contributions 913,000

Hillary will win by a small by at least 60%.

Vermont
Hillary $ Contributions 52,000
Barak $ Contributions 449,000

Barak will win BIG there. I will NEVER buy Maple Syrup again!:lmao:

Rhode Island
Hillary $ Contributions 479,000
Barak $ Contributions 194,000

Hillary will win BIG there.

Soooooooooo Hillary will get 3 out of 4 tommorow. However OHIO is the state to watch!:thumbsup2

My "theory" Regarding the counting the votes in FL & MI, and the DNC Leaders wanting Hillary to back out...was just mentioned By Lynn Samuels Show.

She called me BRILLIANT!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

:lmao:

Interesting DISUNC, but may I point out that Obama seems to be getting votes from people who do not contribute at all, like the independents.

What makes you think Idependants dont send $ to Obama?:confused3

OK, maybe they do, but I doubt that it is in the same numbers as activist democrats. I think independents by their very nature are not as active in politics, aside from the actual voting. I may be wrong here.

:confused3 We never will really know what the politcal dealing of $ backers are...But so far I havent been wrong with my calls!:cool1:
