You & I think EXACTLY alike.
It is especially frustrating to hear this when these are the same people that when confronted with questions about their candidate suggest you do your research.![]()
I am feeling rather hopeful today. I heard on the news today that Hillary indicated she would not withdraw even if she did not win Texas and Ohio. I am all for that. I think the longer this thing takes the better Hillary will look and the latter voting states will not jump on the Obama bandwagon. Maybe that's just because I am so sure she is the better candidate that I am biased.
This is the kicker for me...let me set it up...in his book, speaking about the constitution:
But what I appreciated most about teaching constitutional law, what I wanted my students to appreciate, was just how accessible the relevant documents remain after two centuries. My students may have used me as a guide, but they needed no intermediary, for unlike the books of Timothy or Luke, the founding documents- The Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Constitution- present themselves as the product of men.
Um...I hate to point this out..Timothy and Luke are also the products of men..there is no evidence supporting God penned them. But worse, he uses Timothy...not Mark or John or Matthew...Timothy, the books which instruct...No woman shall be over a man, Woman have no authority...and ought to be silent.
The Obama-luv on the Liberal Thread was really getting on my nerves. But when there were fellow liberals saying "too bad - so sad" that my vote would not count because of the bone-headed decisions of the party at state and national levels. Well - yeah - I yagedI still cannot believe that there are those that are so casual about dismissing anyone's vote - primary or not. And I call shenanigans on anyone that denies the argument would be different if those delegates were going to Obama.
But seriously. I (and many like me) do NOT want a do-over here in FL. How insulting to us to say that we are incapable of informing ourselves without being bombarded with appearances, tv & radio spots, mailers etc... In fact, I would say that perhaps our choice here in FL was probably the most "pure" because of this, wouldn't you?

It's interesting that out of all the books in the Bible, Obama picks that one specifically for his example.
No one has EVER admitted THAT before!!!

Reminds me of the old Groucho Marx joke..... "I would never want to join a Country Club that would accept me."

I am not a Christian and really have no idea of the significance of one of those books over the others. Are you saying the other books are less misogynistic?
Well there is a plenty of misogyny throughout the Bible but IMO Timothy is one of the most offensive. It's very specific about women not being over men, women not having authority, etc. It's the book that ultra-conservatives tend to use to justify women being subservient to men.
So was it a dig at Hillary or a way to show ultra conservatives he "gets it" or maybe just an odd choice?

Interesting DISUNC, but may I point out that Obama seems to be getting votes from people who do not contribute at all, like the independents.
What makes you think Idependants dont send $ to Obama?![]()
OK, maybe they do, but I doubt that it is in the same numbers as activist democrats. I think independents by their very nature are not as active in politics, aside from the actual voting. I may be wrong here.
