I am sorry Hillary didn't win last night, although Washington is still up in the air.

It's not over and I am still rooting hard for Hillary. She is the only candidate I feel that CAN move the Country in the right direction.
I think Obama will fall right on his face, IMO. I picture him as a Jimmy Carter --- a didn't accomplish much President.

I am so sick of the news digging on Hillary whenever they can. I just do not get the hate against Hillary. Are people really that afraid of her??? All the news channel treat Obama like gold --- it's sickening. If the new anchors talked about Obama the way they talk about Hillary I think the racism card will brought up. It is so double standard.
Obama is getting smug in all of this --- that will turn a lot of people off too. I am starting to like him less and less and I used to really admire the guy.

I think if Obama gets the nod, McCain WILL be our President. I really don't think people will come out in full force voting for Obama, especially in those core red states. People have to remember this is just Primaries, a small percentage of people vote in these.

If Obama gets the nod the GOP will have a field day with him. They will chew him up and spit him out. They will scare those undecided voters about Obama's inexperience and very liberal views and I would wager that a lot of them will vote for McCain --- the same way they got scared into voting for Bush!

I am very worried about this election coming up. I really want a Dem in the White House, even if it is Obama, but I have a gut feeling we will be looking at McCain for the next 4 years!

I'm sorry Hillary isn't doing as well as many of you guys would like, but part of the reason I voted for him is because I think he'd do better against McCain and draw in the independent and youth voters. I sure hope I'm right!

The problem is we have two really strong, smart Democrats running on very similar platforms. Obama and Clinton stand for almost exactly the same things. So we have to look at intangibles, and there are pros and cons for each candidate. Barack may seem too "new" for some people, Hillary could suffer from "Clinton fatigue" in the eyes of others, and so forth. It's been a tough decision for many of us Democrats. But we've had great candidates to choose from this time around. Much better than 2004.

Guys...I realize that technically, it's not over. That said, it is fairly unlikely at this point that Hillary is going to be the nominee, so I wanted to stop by this thread and congratulate you all for helping her run a very strong campaign. I know it's hard to accept the defeat of such an historic candidate, but you have no reason to be upset by her performance! No woman in all of our nation's history has ever come so close to the white house, and I'm sure Hillary will remain a force to be reckoned with in the Senate.

That said, I want to invite all of you - anyone at all - to please continue to familiarize yourself with Barack Obama. Look at his background and the things he's done in Illinois, both before and after he joined the state legislature. You all know how the Republican smear machine works, and you all know how important it is to get a Democrat in the White House in 2008. We need to come together as a party and work to defeat John McCain and his "100 years in Iraq" philosophy that, after all, is simply more of the same nonsense we've gotten from George Bush the last 8 years!

I also want to apologize to anyone I may have offended during this primary campaign. I realize that my strident and vocal support of Barack may have gotten under some of your skins. But please understand that I'm only supporting him in that manner because I truly and honestly believe that he is the best person for the future of this party and for our country, just as you believed the same about Hillary. The worst part about a tough primary season is that it can make enemies of people that should be friends and that are, in the end, working towards the same goals.

Lastly, I want to offer you guys the opportunity to ask me - as an Obama supporter - any question you would like me to answer about him or my support of him. I know some of you have questioned why he has such a loyal following, and I would like the chance to explain that from my perspective, if you're interested. If so, then ask away. I promise I won't bite.

This is very true. I think Obama will probably make a decent president (though not as good as Hillary) However, I do not think he will be able to do what he promises. Things that sound good on the campaign trail and with party loyalists will not be so easy to implement in Washington. I think Hillary has a better chance of getting things done that Obama.

Hello Hillary supporters! I did end up voting for Hillary yesterday. It was a very tough decision on my part as I really, really, REALLY like Obama. I just thought Hillary edged him out on heath care, Iraq and gay marriage.

I will support the nominee whoever that is. I'm a happy girl that I think the candidates are so similar I had to "split hairs" to decide who would get my vote. I am still holding out for my Clinton/Obama Obama/Clinton dream ticket. I think that would be unstoppable! But, I think that Hillary is less likely to accept the VP from Obama than the other way around. We'll see ... I think we're in for an interesting lead-up to the convention.

Its the smugness and the arrogance of himself and some of his supporters..... they are all over the net. I have stopped going to some of my favorite blogs - they can be so obnoxious!

I hate to say it - reminds me of Bush when he took over.... my way or the high way.......

I said this about two weeks ago. Obama gives me an uncomfortable feeling of deja vu. It feels like 2000 all over again when the press and voters were fawning all over Bush. No one could answer then why he was so wonderful or what he was going to do. And yes he does seem more and more cocky every day. I was over and my sister's last night and forced to watch Faux news (My sister's one of that 30% that still loves Bush. I'm so ashamed) Anyhoo, they were making mincemeat of Michelle Obama over her "I've never been this proud..." statement. One thing that gives me hope is that the spotlight is really going to be on them and I don't think they can survive.


I haven't given up on Hillary but I admit I'm getting very nervous and kinda disappointed. Nervous, because it really is getting to crunch time. If she doesn't turn t around soon, it will be over. And I'm disppointed because I do not understand how she's running her race. Texas is now huge in this - where is she? Obama has been all over the state. He's right down the road from me today and will be speaking to thousands. She's going to lose all traction in Tx. It feels like she's taking it for granted.

I have not posted on the dis in a long time but checked in today and saw this thread. I live in Lubbock Texas, I am an independent voter who after listening to all of the debates am supporting Hillary. Bill Clinton came to Lubock High School last Saturday night. Thousands of people lined up to see him even though there was only 1,700 seats available. My husband and I also lined up in the cold to see him. My husband is a republican but wanted to please his wife haha. Anyway we did not get in but we were taken to an overflow area where they set up speakers so we could at least hear his speech. When he was done speaking he exited where we were, I got to shake his hand, the crowd was screaming Hillary. I am not kiddding when I say thousands were turned away. This was not reported by the media. When we went home that night even my husband was amazed that our local networks barely gave it a mention. So people keep your hopes up for Texas, noone tells us Texans what to do, certainly not the media!

I think it's almost done. Hillary is my first choice but it's time to start getting behing Obama methinks.

I only hope that the smug perception I get from Obama is only that, perception and that he truly does have the substance and thick skin necessary to lead.

I am still hopeful for Barrack because when Bill was first elected, although I voted for him, I did not like him. He was such a ... Politician. But, IMO, his true colors shone through and he was a great President. Now I believed Hillary too would be a great President given that her mold would have to undoubtedly be cut from the same cloth as Bill but it appears we'll never know.

Barrack had better be wise with his VP choice and had better get prepared for what Rove will throw out because I'm sure he'll be at McCain's side soon.

I've had that feeling since Obama-Mania has taken off.

I am not one of Senator Clintons' supporters that will abandon the party.
I wouldn't vote for Senator McCain if he was running unopposed.

The few Obama supporters on these threads,who said they would not vote for Senator Clinton, if she won the nomination are not true Democrats, they are Independents (not that there is anything wrong with that )

I am disappointed in how this campaign is turning out. I want the Obama supporters to look me in the eyes in a couple of years and say, "See, I told you so!" because now I'm just confused.

As I said, I realize that it's still technically possible. But unless something major happens - a Dean-esque kind of blunder by Obama - she's going to have a hard time making up the ground that she's lost. At this point, she's going to have to win every one of the "big" delegate states by a margin that she's not achieved anywhere else...about 65-35. While it's not impossible that she can manage that, I just don't think it's very likely, and neither does anyone else outside of her campaign. Again, I'm not trying to rub anything in or gloat...just stating the facts as they are right now.

So...coming here, congratulating you on a tough race that seems to be nearing an end, and asking everyone to work together to make sure we put a Democrat in the white house is troll-like?

How am I acting like a troll? Did I come on here bragging about the margin of victory, trashing Hillary, or anything of the sort? For crying out loud...all I've said is that she ran a tough campaign and that you should all be proud of having supported her. What exactly is "troll-like" about that?

As for why I'm here and they're not...you'd have to ask them. For me, it's the fact that I have been very vocal during this campaign, and I simply wanted to come here and "extend the olive branch" by apologizing if I had offended anyone, which I'm sure happened. My post was sincere. Whether you believe that or not is up to you, but I'm not known on these boards as someone who posts things they don't believe.

Ah, but there's the rub. You have bit in the past. You've accused us of needing to be spoonfed info that we could just go look up in his book or on his website. I already know what he wants to do. I just don't see exactly how he plans to do it. Why the sudden change of heart? Before you made fun of us and now you want to be our friend? That's a tough pill to swallow.

Yeah, I'll vote for Obama IF Hillary loses. But at this point I'll be voting against McCain. I really like Obama, but all the Hillary bashing from Obama's followers (not from the man himself) has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm tired of being treated like I'm stupid for making the choice I made, when both are good candidates. Obama may be the best candidate, but he still hasn't made me comfortable with him. Maybe future debates will sell me. I hope he can.
