I just wanted to join in here. I am a huge Hillary supporter. I have watched many of the debates, and also the town hall meeting Hillary had on the Halmark channel. I like what she has to say, and I think she will be a great president but has a hard, long road ahead of her. If it goes to Obama against McCain, at first I was going to vote McCain, but then I became undecided, and now even though I don't care for him for many reasons I will vote for him. My reason is I want this war to end. I don't think anyone can do worse than what we have now. We will have change no matter what, with the next president, so that "change" is not exclusive to Obama. I do think he is a great preacher, and he will unify all of his followers, but not the country. I said it before, inspiration will not run a country, only experience can. If Obama becomes president, then I hope I am wrong. I am very glad to have a thread devoted to Hillary:goodvibes

Agree with you whole-heartedly. I'll probably force myself to vote Obama (I'm hoping I can end up feeling better about it- I just don't see that he has the experience to be president :confused3 ) to save the Supreme Court - we can't afford to let McCain stack it for the next 25 years or so......

I really do not think this thing is over. Maybe I'm an incurable optimist but the delegate count is very close and there are still several big states coming up. I am not writing Hillary off yet.

I don't want to either - but it doesn't look good! And unfortunately - I am a pessimist at heart (really need to change that!!)

Here's something amusing from Politico.com:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/

Clinton backer: "Yes we can? Give me a break."

Machinists Union President Tom Buffenbarger, introducing Clinton, hit Obama in...colorful...terms, my colleague Ken Vogel reports.

"Yes we can? Give me a break," he said.

He also compared Obama with "Janus, the two-faced god" of Roman mythology. He called him "silver tongued" and a "thespian" and "the man in love with the microphone."

"He’s not just a trained thespian, he’s a terrific shadow boxer. You know the type. Outside the ring, he pretends he can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee," he said. "But Barack Obama is no Muhammad Ali. He took a walk every time there was a tough vote in the Illinois state Senate. He took a walk more than 130 times. That’s what a shadow boxer does. All the right moves, all the right combinations, all the right footwork, but he never steps into the ring. He walks away from the fight.”

He also drew a contrast between the “editor of the Harvard Law Review or a fighter for working families."

For all the hype before Clinton's speech, none of her attacks on Obama tonight were really new. But that sure is.

Ken reports that the union crowd noisily welcomed the attacks.

I'm sitting here thinking to myself that it's over.
I hope that in the next nine months, I find out what Senator Obama really stands for on the issues at hand facing our nation.

I can't go over to the Liberal thread because of all the Hillary bashing.
On the Obama thread, the lovefest is vomit-inducing. Not one of the 5 or 6 usual posters can answer the question on what Senator Obama stands for in their own words without refering to Senator Obamas' website. I can read.
I just want someone to share their views without all the internet mumbo-jumbo.

I hope the Senator picks a running mate I can root for. That's what got me through 2004, my respect for John Edwards.

Lastly, if Senator Obamas' supporters on these boards thought Senator Clinton "played dirty" - - They haven't seen anything yet!!

I don't know...I used to like Obama a whole lot more than I do now. At this point it is purely a personality issue for me. Yes, I think Hillary is better on most of the issues, but I have always liked Obama personally. Now, I am not so sure. Maybe it is the smugness.

Vote your heart not what you think everyone else wants you to do. One of the reasons that I think Hillary is losing also is because of this thought of if she wins McCain will have a 50 -50 chance of beating her. I don't belief that . Unless Obama voters don't vote for her and if that is so what does that say about the type of people that are voting for him.

I agree with the Hillary bashing over every thing...I mean everything. Could you imagine if Bill Clinton came out and said what Michelle Obama said how he would have been so bad bashed it would not be funny.

Hillary did not have a chance from the moment she stepped out of the gate. Also every time I watch the news they are also Hillary bashing.....it is annoying. Also I stopped asking foe info because I kept being told to read his book and view his web site and I said I have it does say all the 50 million promises he is going to "CHANGE" but where the heck is all the money going to come from to do it:confused3

Hillary needs to play smart and not hard in the Debate...she needs to get him to answer where the money is going to come from for all his programs and how he is going to do it.

I will guarantee that what ever happens in the debate he will come out like a shining star that can do no wrong and she well...we know how that will go.

If I had to vote all over again I would not hesitate to still vote my heart and that would be for Hillary...after all it is history and would not want to cheat myself from doing what I felt was right for me :thumbsup2

I also think that McCain is going to walk all over him if he gets the nod and I think Hillary is on more even turf on experienced.

I know - they are all over Hillary even if she suggests she'd do a better job as President. I hate to say it - but it reminds me of the Bushies in 2000. Maybe its because I don't want to worship the president? I want someone who can represent our interests abroad and bring back our dignity and respect.....

In my opinion, they're lucky she's the one that brought up the "plagiarism." Can you imagine the Republican ridicule that would have induced had they revealed it?
"Obama's pretty words? They aren't even his own!!!" shrills ad after ad......

I just hope that man can deliver the goods if he gets in.....

I agree he seems to have turned Arrogant and the same with his wife.

Its the smugness and the arrogance of himself and some of his supporters..... they are all over the net. I have stopped going to some of my favorite blogs - they can be so obnoxious!

I hate to say it - reminds me of Bush when he took over.... my way or the high way.......

It drives me crazy that so many think he is flying around with wings on his back :lmao: ......He can do no wrong and these people seem to be such Hillary haters even though they end saying "But I will vote for Hillary if she gets the nod" :confused3

There is nothing wrong with looking up to your candidate but I think so many have gone over the end. I have heard these promises before from sooooo many other candidates in the past that offer the world so to get the vote than can never deliver.

He will get stuff done but but by no way see how he can honor all his promises unless he is planning on staying in for sure of 8 years....and even than.

If I have seen anything I have seen many rally behind a candidate and after elected the voters go there separate ways. I hope he can make a change and walk the walk....

as for how this election has been run I think ALL the candidates have been running clean campaigns.

I'm feeling like it's Obama's now too. Short of a miracle, I don't see how Hillary can stop this crusade. I'm proud of her though. I believe that she has stayed real even while making mistakes and I don't get that from her opponent. She can continue to do good things in the Senate and that's extremely important too.

I will vote for Obama even though I don't feel all of this love his supporters feel. I think it's important to get a Democrat into office to end this ridiculous war and also to protect the Supreme Court. I'm going to do my best to not think as much about the candidate as the party this time and for me, that's weird! But maybe it'll keep me from flip-flopping as much since I'm so uncertain...

I also dislike the Hillary bashing going on. You'd think that they'd be happy that their candidate is doing so well without constantly tearing down Hillary. Not that all of them do that but a certain few do which is sad. I have one on ignore right now but I don't think I'll add any more. I'll just avoid the Liberal thread for a while once again, at least until they get done crowing.
Does anyone know how many votes total Obama has compared to Hillary?
Obama has a popular vote of: 9,687,411 That includes the 569,041 where his name was on the Florida ballot. His name was not on the Michigan Ballot.

Hillary has a popular vote of 9,620,020 and that includes 1,185,359 from both Michigan and Florida

These numbers do not reflect Wisconsin or Hawaii (obviously)

I do believe that is why he is getting theses states is the fear put into the DEms about McCain but I even if only half of Obamas voters came out there is still no way for him to win. Even Hillarys votes have been way higer that MCCains and Huckabees together.

Be sure that you don't cheat yourself with your vote. Is it my imagination or does it seem like many of the news casters are for Obama :confused3

I am disappointed in Hillary's campaign and think that she had it in the bag so did not figure she had to raise so much money. She was told over and over gain that she would get the nod....and there came Obama...

As they are saying...This is a big election and people want big change.....she needed to come out fighting more and also have more rally's all over like Obama has.....

Yes, I think that Hillary dropped the ball while Obama took off. It would have been a difficult battle anyway but she didn't really seem prepared.

Just think...Obama was a unknown up till he started to run for Pres. a year ago and even that it was "Obama who"....he seemed to come from now where. I dont know who his campain manager is but they did a great job.

She is not done yet....there are still a lot of states left. She looks tired also. she must be feeling pretty sad at this point. It's hard to keep going when you have lost your ,momentum .

I cant wait till the debate. I hope she has a great plan because otherwise....

they are saying that the Dems still like Hillary and she is and always has been about change her whole political career but Obama went with the change factor and ran with it she did not and if she had that she would have most likely beat Obama....she should be saying...MY BAD!!!

I think that smugness is only going to get worse if he keeps winning.

So many people think he can do no wrong just like so many of you have said in so many ways. But think of the saying the bigger they are the harder they fall. In his case if he fall apart as president, think of all his worshipers that would be so disappointed. I am glad I am not one of them. I expect the worse and hope for the best in this case. I will be so crushed if Hillary does not get it, but she will always have my support.

I think that smugness is only going to get worse if he keeps winning.

I have really been trying to keep an open mind about the candidates, but I am finding myself liking him less and less. I am in NH and have been lucky to have met all of the candidates and have felt that Hillary has so much more substance.

It sounds that way to me too, BUT (and this is a big but) I really think since his policy ideas and hers are so similar, he shouldn't be that bad as president. At least he would appoint Supreme Court Justices I could live wive and not Scalito clones.
