I support Hillary because she in my opinion has proven (to me) that she can accomplish what ever she sets her sites on. She has passion, cares about our country, and wants to make a "Change" in where this country is now and the direction it is heading. My vote has nothing to do with her being a woman but has to do with her issues and experience. As I tell everyone(as in my friends) that are divided due to the press and the polls stating that Hillary has no chance...if in your heart that is who YOU CHOOSE (as in Hillary) than don't let anyone sway you to vote against your heart. This is a time in History that you don't want to look back and say to yourself " why did I not vote my heart instead of voting out of fear of loosing. So I will say the same thing to you with a smile attached....If Hillary is your choice don't let the press scare you into voting against your heart. I wish you luck and faith and stand behind you at what ever decision you make. As a Hillary supporter I can only hope that your heart lies with her. Robin[/quote]
Robin, this is a really nice post and I agree with it 100%. I voted for Hillary from my heart even though I knew that Obama would win Wisconsin. I knew that Hillary was the better candidate for the things that were important to me (health care, her plan to get out of Iraq, gay marriage) and she and Obama were equal on everything else. I have no regrets.

The media has already picked the next candidate, and guess what, he's the one who has the best soundbites. Hillary's more nuanced position is a lot more difficult to explain.

I agree that the Press has picked their candidate and I think it's really sad. Fair and unbiased media? Whatever.

I agree completely. But I don't care who the media wants. Let's just see what happens. I thought she did fantastic last night. Her closing statement brought the crowd to it's feet. Maybe she can still pull this out. It's not over til the fat lady sings. I know, she's warming up in the wings, but she's not singing yet. ;)

...and now,I really don't understand the Obama preference. Can someone explain why people think he's a better choice? I wasn't feeling like he had the same level of knowledge that Clinton does about worldly matters. I felt like he just kept saying the same thing and not really answering questions. I felt
that clinton REALLY knows what is going on in the world, and not just relies on what "her people" tell her. I so believe she is the better choice for the country.

Respectfully.....I think the reason for the standing O was that many (including myself) viewed her closing statement as something of a concession. I belieive she sees the writing on the wall and this is a the primary reason the debate was as cordial as it was. She did not wish to provide McCain with any ammo.
I believe she knows it is over. And the crowd, knowing the same thing, was applauding her efforts and service.

It made me sad, because here we are with two wonderful candidates and we can't have both of them. I really wish Hillary had run in 2004, I think our country would have been very different today.

You need to go to the liberal thread or the Barack thread for those explanations.

People seem to be picking style over substance. I hope he can live up to all those expectations........

Ask on the Obama thread or the Liberal thread, and we'll answer. Don't want to derail this thread (again ;) ) with the bickering that always seems to erupt around that question. :teeth:

:thumbsup2 She would have been a much better candidate than Kerry, and we'd have had most if not all of our soldiers home by now and New Orleans would be in about 1000% better shape, to name just a couple points!

It wasn't a concession. It was her talking from her heart - and being respectful about her opponent.

If she's nice - she's conceding - if she's negative - she's abhorent. She hasn't been given a fair shake at all.

We still have to hear from TX and OH before any conceding discussion occurs.

Why would the dems rejecting her in this go-around would have been more supportive to her then? She would have had even less experience then...... plus the war was supposedly raging - they would have made mince meat of her then ..........

Remember the climate. And the economy then was "ok."

Because there is now an Obama thing going on that wasn't there then. Right now, I don't see ANYONE stopping Obama.

I wish people would just THINK and stop reacting to Obama!:headache:

As I drove home from work this am, it took 3 hours (snow storm) I normally listen to Howard Stern in the am, but since he is on vaca, I put the Sirius radio on the LEFT channel (liberal talk)...WOW the Liberal Talk show host dont like Obama...at all. I didnt know that.:confused3

One guy brought up a interesting notion in regards to Obama badgering Hillary for her vote to support the war.

1) Obama is being a Monday morning Quarterback
2) 95% of Americans (based on what we were told) supported the War, and if you didnt you were labeled a traitor
3) If Obama was a Senator then, and it was the Sears Tower in Chicago that the terrorist hit....YOU CAN BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR he too would have voted like Hillary. Cause it would have directly affected his consituients!
4) If Obama was so "Anti War" why has he never organized a protest????

I thought these were all valid points.:thumbsup2

Anyhooooooooooo I predict Hillary will win Texas, Ohio & Pa...and in a BIG way!;) Hopefully in the next week & half we can all crack the Obama Code!:lmao:

I agree that the Press has picked their candidate and I think it's really sad. Fair and unbiased media? Whatever.

The mainstream media flip flops more than any political candidate. If they thought I could bring in ratings & sell papers...they be telling everyone how wonderful I am.

Things are starting to turn. On the Drudge site they had 2 negative articles yesterday about Obama. One having to do with his ties to that slumlord..(there is something there... I just know it). It seems that Obama not only lives next door to him, and they bought their houses on the same day...But Obama got $300,000 of the asking price!:scared: Who gives ANYBODY 300,000 dollars off a house?:confused3

She couldnt. She promised the people of NY that she would not seek the presidency, and honor their election of her by doing her first full term as senator.
Very unlike someone else!:rolleyes1

When she was elected in NY, a lot of us (including me, who voted for her then) thought that she was just using the open Senate seat as a jumping off point to a presidential run. She proved us wrong by being the best dang senator NY could possibly have had. Even the up-staters love her. She is a principled and responsible person. Had she run in 2004 I would have thought less of her.

I don't understand why that's never brought up. Obama made the same promise - but didn't keep his word. No one seems to be holding him accountable.
