Mike Gravel on Palin.....a good listen...all the way through

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpBXYcgXV8M
Gravel was objective and I loved hearing him push back against the clearly biased interviewers! They tried as hard as possible to get him to go negative on Palin and boy, did he give them both hell for that.

They pleaded for him to say she was inexperienced. He responded pointing out she is anything but.

They tried to make an issue out of her pregnant daughter. He said it was none of their @&*^# business.

They pushed to make her pro-life stance an issue. Gravel said "she has the courage to stand up for her convictions."

And when they started with the "Troopergate" crap, to quote Gravel: "THAT GUY SHOULD NOT BE A TROOPER!!!!"

The female interviewer -- after tiring of getting her butt kicked -- eventually cut him off in a very abrupt, cowardly fashion.

Thanks for posting the link!!!

Hi:flower3:

Republican just stopping by to briefly interupt your thread. You know I was never a Hillary supporter but after seeing how she handled herself through this whole election process I do have new found respect for her. I really wish she would have been the candidate. I dislike BHO so much and I really don't think he has the experience Hillary has. I think I wouldn't be so against this election if she was the one running against McCain. Even though we are total opposite politically I think she would have the country's best interest at heart and would do a pretty good job.

I do feel bad for the way she has been treated.

That's it - sorry for the interuption.

Thanks Jennifer S. Thank you for your comments!

Hey guys I just got off the phone with my dad <uh oh!> and he said that he heard some rumer about Biden stepping down, that Hillary and Obama had lunch? And now supposedly Biden made some speech today complimenting Hillary.

I've tried to find something about it on-line but no luck. Has anyone heard anything?

Someone at one of his speeches criticized Hillary and he REALLY stood up for her, saying that it's possible she should have been on BO's ticket instead of him. I have to admit, that would be fine with me as I always liked her. However, even if that doesn't happen, I can't vote for McCain, especially after selecting an arch-conservative for VP. No way, no how.

Here is a link to CNN's version of the Biden story:

WOW :scared1: why the heck would he say such a thing....that just cuts down on his qualifications, Obamas qualifications(since he at first during the primaries said Obama was not ready)...and makes him look weak and unsure.....why would he do that:confused3 mostly with all this Palin stuff going on.

Could you imagine if he dropped out and Hillary became his VP...maybe he has decided to do that because he feels that is the only way for sure for Obama to win....

I don't see it however....he might be doing it so we all say...Wow he must really care about all of us to put Hillary in his place...how humble he is.

What I don't understand is why Obama is going after Palin. She is not running for office; McCain is. By going after Palin, Obama makes himself look like as inexperienced as he is. :confused3

(Another republican chiming in) I agree with you. He has been going after her, all the while saying he is not going to engage in insults. Then he declares, "Enough", once he got in his big dig. It wasn't, "enough" before he got called on it. He's all over the place.

I am sure Hillary is laughing her butt off right about now :lmao:

Got to admit I totally agree with Biden :thumbsup2

I don't think Biden would step down though. It would make Obama look like he doesn't know what he is doing. Obama would not go for that, IMO.
Talk about a major flip flop

Obama DID pick the wrong person for the VP job. He let his ego get in the way instead of thinking about the Country. Everyone knows Obama did not want to share the limelight with Hillary. His ego WILL cost him the election & in private I am sure Hillary is sitting back with a glass of wine and :rotfl2:

Your trust issues really puzzle me as anyone connected with the Keating 5 (or 7) immediately causes me to distrust him (McCain). What makes you "shudder" about Obama? Can you help me see why I should be worried? What facts have you read?

Took

Facts have been listed on this thread and many others, Rev Wright, Rezko, Ayers, his no real stance on voting (HOW many times has he voted PRESENT????? Take a stand already!!! GEEZ) and the list goes on & on. Too many shady dealings in Obama's past.
I posted them before....I am tired of posting them.
I will vote for McCain because I trust him a heck of a lot more then Obama, period.

I agree with you and frankly, I seriously doubt Hillary would accept an offer now for the VP spot even if it was offered. For if she did, in addition to the flip/flop problem for Obama it would immediately position her as a stepchild, ergo, the person Obama reluctantly went with only after being forced to. The media would never get off that tangent.

No, she's better off sitting back, getting more seasoning as an increasingly senior Congresswoman and running in "I told you so" fashion in 2012.

You got that right:thumbsup2

Nah, the election is still too close to call at this point. It just seems that Obama has done absolutely nothing right in a very long time. In fact, from my perspective the last thing the man got right was his speech after the the Rev Wright debacle (of course that backfired anyway because the rev basically told him to go suck an egg).

It still still Obama's race to lose and by being lackluster and (well let's face it-boring) he's doing a pretty good job of it.

Because of the date today, the campaigns have both pledged to pull all ads off the air and come together as a nation. Why don't we on the DIS do that as well?

I'm still waiting for the debates personally. Those will tell much and will also be a nice refreshing break from foolishness about pigs wearing makeup, pregnant teenagers, shady friends and relatives and so on. This campaign season is wearing me down!

Actually I think that Hillary will feel a lot like many of us will if that happens. Completely torn and concerned. There is no winning in this situation. We've got two of the crappiest candidates we've ever had.

If McCain and Palin win, I will feel some pride that a woman has finally made it to the White House, but sad that it's someone who's beliefs I find completely repugnant. Knowing someone like her is so close to the presidency terrifies me. As much as I loathe Obama - I can't take any joy in imagining his loss. There's way too much at stake. And I'm sure Hillary feels the same.
